Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug
Company’s Online Pharmacy Launches with Lowest Prices on 100
Lifesaving Prescriptions

Direct to consumer pharmacy and formation as pharmacy benefit manager further mission to drastically expand access to affordable pharmaceuticals

at least one prescription medication for their household due to ever-rising costs, and 1 in 10 Americans have skipped doses to save money. The pharmacy’s launch represents the first critical milestone in bringing affordable medications to millions.

Notable medications that epitomize the pharmacy’s striking savings include:

  • Imatinib – leukemia treatment
    • Retail price: $9,657 per month
    • Lowest price with common voucher: $120 per month
    • MCCPDC price: $47 per month
  • Mesalamine – ulcerative colitis treatment
    • Retail price: $940 per month
    • Lowest price with common voucher: $102 per month
    • MCCPDC price: $32.40 per month
  • Colchicine – gout treatment
    • Retail price: $182 per month
    • Lowest price with common voucher: $32 per month
    • MCCPDC price: $8.70 per month

“We will do whatever it takes to get affordable pharmaceuticals to patients,” said Alex Oshmyansky, CEO of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug. “The markup on potentially lifesaving drugs that people depend on is a problem that can’t be ignored. It is imperative that we take action and help expand access to these medications for those who need them most.”

As a registered pharmaceutical wholesaler, MCCPDC can bypass middlemen and outrageous markups. The pharmacy’s prices reflect actual manufacturer prices plus a flat 15% margin and pharmacist fee. With the help of digital healthcare company Truepill, patients can expect a seamless, secure e-commerce experience as they navigate the pharmacy’s website, built and powered by Truepill’s digital health platform. Patients will also enjoy reliable prescription fulfillment and delivery through Truepill’s nationwide pharmacy footprint.

Because the company refuses to pay spread prices to third-party PBMs in order to be allowed to process insurance claims, the online pharmacy will be a cash pay venture. However, its model means patients can immediately purchase a broad array of medications at prices often less than what most insurance plans’ deductible and copay requirements would total.

In November 2021 MCCPDC entered the PBM industry to serve companies providing prescription coverage in their employee benefit plans. MCCPDC has pledged to be “radically transparent” in its own negotiations with drug companies as a PBM, revealing the true costs it pays for drugs and eliminating spread pricing and misaligned rebate incentives. MCCPDC anticipates its PBM could save companies millions of dollars with no changes to its benefits, depending on the size of the employer, because it will eliminate the traditional PBM model. The company plans to integrate its pharmacy and wholesaler with its PBM, so any company that uses its PBM will have access to wholesale pricing through its online pharmacy.

“There are numerous bad actors in the pharmaceutical supply chain preventing patients from getting affordable medicines,” Oshmyansky said. “The only way to ensure affordable prices get through is to vertically integrate.”

About Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company

The Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company aims to fundamentally change the way the pharmaceutical industry operates. As a public-benefit corporation, its social mission of improving public health is just as important as the bottom line. The company transparently charges a standard markup on every drug it sells. With the launch of its online pharmacy’s first inventory of 100 affordable generic drugs in January 2022, establishment as a vertically integrated pharmacy benefits manager, and construction of a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical factory in Dallas slated for completion by the end of 2022, the company is well on its way to making medication affordable for all.

Oh, Mr Cuban has a very limited sense of altruism, so there’s definitely money in this for him. Having said that, it’s still a good thing. Competion, and all that.

I don’t trust it. A cut rate online site would become the Amazon of drugstores AND no doubt will expand into more than drugs. There is more to this than altruism . He doesn’t manufacture the drugs nor will he be a non-profit. Never trust the billionaire boys club.

Remember when WalMart was a new countrywide retailer, all PRO-AMERICAN, our products are made in America, how long did that last 6 months?

TN- Google, FB, WalMart, Amazon are .gov. Publicly traded or not they are .gov. This will become a .gov also, no doubt in my mind. Many billionaire boys club members are creations to give the illusion that it is something different. The biggest drug dealers on the planet are the US and UK governments.

BL….everything is gonna be dot gov, and we will be happy!

I went down to district court for a hearing that challenged a recent health order by our county health admin. I went 1 and a half hours early, as when I called they said “masks would be required”. I went without one, and the deputy sheriff wanted medical papers when I said that I couldn’t wear one….I said ‘NO PAPERS’, but I’ve got a scar near twelve inches long on my chest and a bottle of nitro pills. He went for a judge, one came out, and just flat told me I didn’t have the right….I asked for verification in writing where they refused me entrance because of no mask. Judge said he didn’t have anything, I turned to the deputy and asked if his body camera was on …..”I CAN’T TURN THAT ON UNLESS THERE’S A FIGHT”, he said in a loud voice. I told him that I wasn’t hard hearing NOR was I some kind of criminal……I left. Then I came back in with my phone to film the deputy…hoorah, that made the ole boy pretty upset with me.

Lot more to the story….

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban: “I require my employees to be vaccinated” as Gov. Greg Abbott bans mandates in Texas

https://news.yahoo.com/mark-cuban-require-employees-vaccinated-223004773.html

Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks
I got vaccinated because I love my country. I got vaccinated because I love my family. I got vaccinated because the only way to stop the spread of Covid and end all the pain and tragedy it has brought to the country I love and the world is to get vaccinated, and I strongly encourage all patriotic Americans to do the same.

Yep. Cuban is trying to cover his ass. Another quote from October 2021….

“It is your choice. It is absolutely, positively up to you. But there are consequences that come with that,” Cuban said during an appearance on 10 Questions with Kyle Brandt, a Spotify podcast. “If you work for me, I require my employees to be vaccinated unless there’s a doctor’s reason where they can’t be. I don’t want my kids to be at risk, so the consequences of you not being vaccinated is I’m not going to shut the [expletive] up. I’m going to be in your mother[expletive] ear driving you mother[expletive] crazy.”

And then there is that other connection that means nothing, of course…. (from Wikipedia)

Cuban grew up in Mount Lebanon, a suburb of Pittsburgh, in a Jewish working-class family.[13][14] His paternal grandfather changed the family name from Chabenisky to Cuban after his family emigrated from Russia through Ellis Island.[15][16] His maternal grandparents, who were also Jewish, came from Romania.[17]

Am I understanding correctly that a billionaire is considered philanthropic if his profit margin is only 15%? Profit margins are still record high. The monopolists are completely comfortable passing all costs to consumers when they used to have to compete for customers.

I can’t stand him now, nor have I ever liked Cuban. He’s about as genuine as John Kerry’s chin.

He’s an opportunistic Tribesman™ who was a dot-com bubble billionaire, then bought a non-CDC monkey ball team with his ill-gotten gains. And like you’d expect, he’s an arrogant asshole who’s had his hand caught in the cookie jar before — and then spun it with a PR campaign which culminated in him making a big show out of giving a black female a CEO title, with her supposed intent to get rid of a “toxic culture” embedded in Cuban’s front office.

No mention of the fact that it was Cuban who created said culture.

This is just another way for them to push their pills on the populace, making them easier to get, and this is not being done from altruism. They know that after they’ve stolen all our money nobody is capable of buying their multi-thousand-dollar drugs, which takes up 45 seconds of their one-minute ubiquitous commercials just to tell us all the deadly side effects thereof.

I only wish people would realize that we made it along for tens of thousands of years without all these miracle pills. Somehow.

This is just Mark Cuban making more money for Mark Cuban, and I can’t support it, no matter how humane it sounds. It’s more profit for Big Pharma.

Here’s me, literally only a few minutes ago, having this conversation with my mother:

“This whole Mark Cuban thing is not about helping people, it’s about helping the pharmaceutical companies sell their pills.”

“But some people need these pills, like with my high blood pressure, I have to take them to keep it under control,” is Mom’s reply.

“(heavy sigh) So how did we make it all these thousands of years without these panaceas, Ma? People in our own family had high blood pressure, and they somehow lived with it, right?”

“Well they didn’t have as much pressure back then on them as we do nowadays,” came Mom’s response.

“COME AGAIN? If anything, they had a lot more pressure than we do, in fact, we’ve got it pretty good compared to them, wouldn’t you say? I mean, I’m not having to plow the north 40 in order to keep food on the table, there’s no threat of anybody coming to even take my table or its contents — what pressure do you mean?”

“There’s just so much going on in the world…” Mom said, and I love this 81-year-old woman with all my heart, and I will do anything to protect her, not least of which is dying.

“Ma, you just have to worry about what you can control,” I offer, knowing that’s advice counterintuitive to any mother ever. “But no matter what, you control your own health. I just want what’s best for you.”

I certainly understand folks views here in regards to this and the views on “maintenance”drugs.

That said,if it truly helps some folks get drugs that may actually help them then all for it.

They may stab you down the road in back but then, just move on.

Health care is changing quickly, hopefully to a better path of better food/lifestyle ect. with drugs when truly needed.

I do see after all the understandable mistrust of the medical community today see it becoming very de-centralized,whether the feds(and their masters) like it or not.

Everything is a bandaid to overcome the inevitable corruption inherent in a DEA and FDA protected industry. Abolish the FDA and DEA, abolish the war on drugs, decriminalize all drugs and information related to healing, health, natural alternatives, etc. and allow the free, open, and competitive market address the problems government has created. Needless to say, medical freedom for doctors, elimination of all government professional licensure requirements must also happen so that patients and doctors can be free to address issues without political threats imposing on their relationship.

Sorcery on the cheap. May help a few people (insulin or epi-pens), but net net will kill and impoverish many more. Kinda like a startup that sells rock bottom cheap wine and cigarettes so more people can “participate”.
