I don’t buy that this was a set up. First look at Smith’s behavior, before and after the altercation, he looked drunk AF. Second, was the way he slapped Chris Rock. Not hit him like a man to man fight, but literally slapped down on him, like a master would do to a slave. The pompousity of his body language says it all.
Smith was trained as a boxer for his role as Muhammad Ali and that sissy slap was the best he could do?
That was the conversation I had. Not the set up part, but the physical aspect.

The next day I walked into a room full of people and a guy asked me if I “heard the slap that went around the world”. I told them all I didn’t see it live but it landed in my newsfeed and that I thought it looked choreographed. If it was truly spontaneous, I suspect Rock would have run away, or at least backed away, in a comedic manner.
