Worlds Apart: No fear in love? Or, a little leaven, oil, and water?

Can we all just get along? Is it possible? Just curious.

Pretty cool to see a major (global) corp do that.

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to give the sermon at church.

Our small Presby congregation has been shattered in the last two years. To the point that the covidiots, mostly teachers, curiously, DEMANDED at every session meeting as well as in worship, the strictest adherence to all things .gov “mandated”

In my talk, I reminded them that for several GENERATIONS, our families have been worshiping and socializing together without the slightest bit of friction even though we didn’t agree on any number of things.

I asked that they stop and think why this time it was different.

I doubt I changed any minds but, hopefully, gave them something to think about.

We will see this fall, when the next variant comes around.

I reject “progressive” ideas, and astutely avoid people who espouse them.

I do like beer, though.

Is it possible to get along? Of course.

Is it likely? NO.

IMHO, it’s not at Zero. Yet. The likelihood of American getting along is, at best, 20% …. and gaining speed in our downhill run to oblivion.

Well that was certainly Pavlovian.

All I got out of it was that people of every persuasion can led about by unseen forces who use industrialized settings, annoying prompts and silly, pointless tasks in order to manipulate them into altering their beliefs in an hour or less.

Then they both get a grape.

Exactly! All that showed me was propaganda and I’m amused so many here fell for it.

The moral man who thinks men are men and not women– gets the trannies phone number and calls him a girl.
The man who thinks feminism is out of control and 3rd gen feminism is full of manhaters, “down with the patriarchy.!”

This isn’t about getting along, this is about, we can get along if you agree with us!

Because Heineken’s corporate ideology is far left. The commercial is required to show the “correct” response to the experiment.

The Heiniken ad is right out of Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals.

Meet the opposition halfway, agree, and move the goalpost toward your objective in preparation for the next encounter.
Keep the opposition back on their heels.
Repeat until your opposition is defeated.

As of this comment, 7 people have posted in this thread: Just Thinking, clbrto, Stucky, Hardscrabble, Abigail, and n.

All of your above thoughts crossed my mind too upon viewing the Heineken ad.

But, in reading your seven perspectives at once, it gave me some clarity.

Thanks for that, I appreciate it. As for me, the dilemmas of the ad were cited in the title of this post and its tags.

This is an interesting post.

It reaffirms my belief that most of the people on this site are already pre-positioned on any given subject and will not accept any non-converts.

I personally believe that anyone can convert with anyone on any given topic, but that is just me.

It also shows me that many here do not share my beliefs.

Steve…I respect your comment, however those who do not align with my beliefs don’t merely accept you tolerating their beliefs & lifestyle. They will force you to celebrate their lifestyle or they’ll try to destroy your life. (don’t even get me started on how I know)

I can have a conversation with someone not like me and remain pleasant, but game over when they try to tell me what to believe, how to live, what to teach children, what laws I’m to follow that go against my core beliefs, etc.

I do not wish harm on most people, but I will most certainly dig my heels in to remain loyal to my beliefs & my creator and I will not apologize for that.

The Right has been tolerating the Left for decades. The Left has NEVER tolerated the Right. “Bi-partisanship” has always meant the Right caving to Leftist ideology. NEVER, EVER the reverse.

Now, they’re coming for your children.

Common Cents says:

“Bi-partisanship” has always meant the Right caving to Leftist ideology. NEVER, EVER the reverse.

The Political Left progresses at full speed while the Repugnant Right trails along at half-speed.

But in the movie “Braveheart”, do you remember what happened to the Scottish nobles who betrayed William Wallace (Mel Gibson) on the battlefield against the Brits?

They were slayed in their beds in the dark of night.

Well, that’s (metaphorically for now) sort of how I’ve been pursuing the biofascists in my community. And, believe me, some feathers are getting ruffled.

Over the weekend, I had someone ask me where I’m getting my information and I told them I had everything ready to send to them: The Pfizer documents, the video testimonials of funeral directors and embalmers, videos of the vaccine injured, local obituaries (citing “sudden, “unexpected”, and “at home deaths”), VAERS documentation, and more.

“Can I show you?” Silence.

Today, someone else said to me: “You’re never going to stop are you?”

I replied: “Are Fauci, the WHO, and the CDC ever going to stop? Or will they just keep selling brand new bullshit variants and useless boosters for you to keep buying every Dark Winter of Death“.

So, no. It’s not over until the collusion, fraud, and fascism have been fully exposed and those who prescribed medical tyranny under false pretenses have been held to account.

Was this second “someone” even remotely curious regarding my sources of information? Nope. Silence.

They refuse to wake up for fear of the dream disappearing.

Perhaps a skeleton key, of sorts, is found in the above commenter n’s viewpoint:

Individuals can be reasoned with, groups, not so much.

Those entities contain locks and combinations that are right and wrong at varied times, in different circumstances.

Beware the patient man.

Most people can manage to get along. The need for each other as players in the marketplace, the division of labor, etc. The minute the force and violence of government come into play, it all goes to hell. You may not care to interact with the so-called “transgender” and unless forced to by the government, you probably would ever have to worry about them one bit. Same with the climate change guy who wouldn’t be able to steal from you, ban your car, etc without the violence of government. The big problem is that while we all might find some common ground, unless they both see the government as the cause of their problems, and not a potential savior, we will never be allowed to get al9ng.

Virtually everyone can find common ground on an individual basis.
I’d like to see them run the experiment again when it’s two against one.
And at the end there are only two beers.

One more thought. If I may. The ad is brilliant from a marketing perspective in the sense that they figured out a way to sell beer to everyone.
“Let’s all get along “ becomes a marketing ploy in disguise.

Heineken mandated the injection for their employees so I must say I was already jaded. This ad is just one more way to try to get you to drink their beer. Never forget what advertising is for. Abigail is right in that they are advertising tolerance but beer sales come first. They have shareholders, you know.

Tolerance is a measure of how much stress you can subject something to before it fails. Simple things like ropes and steel beams, or complex things like submarines and aircraft, only function within their levels of tolerance.
Too much stress on a rope or a steel beam will cause them to fail. Take a submarine too deep it will implode. An aircraft too high and the engines will stop, or too fast and the wings will come off.
Stress a human body past it’s level of tolerance and it will die. Stress a human mind too far and it will snap no differently than does a piece of string.
Sure, we can get along, but only to a point – although no one should ever be expected to tolerate what they personally consider to be intolerable.

Well it seems like it isn’t enough to propagate far left groupthink to sell products anymore, since I guess they (finally) figured out you likely alienate potential consumers doing that. So, instead of just propagating far left groupthink, now its taken a step further to propagate the TOLERANCE of far-left groupthink by supposedly right-thinking individuals, or at least the idea that opposing viewpoints can be expressed freely and openly between them.

BUT:

1. This is all done just to whore out a beer product to a larger group of consumers, nothing more
2. its an attempt to capitalize on, and condone the Politics of Division, rather than condemn it
3. Different viewpoints CANNOT be expressed freely and openly anymore – Social Media bans those if they don’t fit the narrative . Try tweeting “Feminism today is definitely an excuse for misandry, manhating” and see how long it takes for your account to disappear.

This is not Jeremy’s Razor. It is not Occam’s Razor either. It’s just more deceit.

The duality of the universe ultimately proves that there are diametrically opposed polarities that can never reconcile.

Chirality (left and right), positive and negative (electric charges), north and south (magnetic fields), matter and antimatter, good and evil.
