Washington & Moscow Have Combined to Make the Ukrainian Situation into Armageddon

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

Yesterday morning I posted an explanation of why Russian liberalism was generating a wider war that could end in Armageddon.  https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2022/05/01/putins-liberalism-means-a-wider-war-is-in-the-cards/

I find no relief in The Saker acknowledging the same unfolding of events.  https://thesaker.is/sitrep-operation-z-17/

The Saker and Andrei Martyanov are two competent analysts of Russian military capability.  Until recently they have acknowledged no problem with Putin’s limited military operation in Ukraine. But The Saker now realizes that the slow Russian operation has made opportunities for Western mischief that will widen the conflict.  No doubt Martyanov also sees the adverse consequences of delay, but he is yet to attribute any importance to them.

The Saker reports Western plans to bring into western Ukraine where Russia has no boots on the ground  Polish and Romanian soldiers with NATO air cover for “military exercises.”  The Saker also reports that there seems to be a military operation in preparation against Russian Transnistria.

Quoting other analysts, The Saker reports that on the Polish, Belarus, and Moldova borders with Ukraine a total contingent of 50,000 to 100,000 troops can be inferred. “NATO’s ultimate strategy on this issue is currently unclear, but several options could be considered. Firstly, this can be done for a banal intimidation of Russia and an attempt to put pressure on the course of the special operation in Ukraine, and secondly, in the West they perfectly understand that Ukraine as a country no longer exists and see its future on the principle of occupation sectors. And the third option is the most terrible, but the least likely: NATO decided to go all the way and, if lend-lease and hybrid warfare do not stop the Russians, then regular units of Western countries will step in. This, of course, is a 100% threat of the use of nuclear weapons. It looks utopian, but in 2022 everything is possible.”

The Saker quotes the Russian Colonel Cassad:

“The main topic that worries many today is the adoption by the US Congress of the lend-lease program for Ukraine. Delivery of large batches of modern weapons is expected soon. The war will reach a new level, because now we will also have to fight with the American military industry. Deliveries of American heavy weapons are expected, including F-16 aircraft. Today we wrote that Ukraine is already preparing pilots for these machines. Here you need to understand once and for all, we are at war with NATO, where Ukraine is just cheap service personnel and cannon fodder.”

The Pentagon’s John Kirby backs up Colonel Cassad’s report with his announcement: “Today I can announce that the United States has begun training the Ukrainian armed forces to use key weapons at US military bases in Germany.”

The lend-lease bill was introduced in the US Senate on January 19, 2022, a month prior to the Russian intervention in Ukraine.  This supports the abundant evidence that Washington did intend to cause Russian intervention in Donbass by mobilizing a large Ukrainian army ready to attack Donbass.

The Saker also quotes this report:

“Kiev secretly sent Kharkiv cadets to the United States to learn to fly the F-16, which will soon enter service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine under lend-lease. Kiev decided in advance to retrain its pilots for the NATO fleet. As it became known to Readovka, the cadets of the Kharkiv Higher Military School were sent to one of the European NATO countries and to the United States in early February for emergency retraining in the management of American F-16s. The cadets were taken directly from the 4th year classes. All of them were transported in complete secrecy. Thus, it is more likely that NATO, together with Kiev, knew about the imminent deployment of a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and tried to work ahead of the curve. The law passed the day before by the US Congress authorizing the lend-lease of heavy weapons to Ukraine apparently involves the supply, among other things, of American F-16 fighters. There is also information that the lend-lease announced by the United States was launched solely to legalize the transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine.”

None of this information fits in the narrative that Washington has created as the controlled explanation of the Russian intervention fed by the presstitutes to the peoples in the West.  The Western peoples in their “free societies” with their “free press” remain as ignorant of events as Big Brother’s people in George Orwell’s book, 1984.

My views on the dangerousness of the situation are, of course, ignored by the US foreign policy community, most of whom are busy at work with war propaganda.  Only twice have my articles been posted on Johnson’s Russian List.  In foreign policy, as in Covid and all else, dissenting views are no longer permitted.

It is now clear that the Kremlin’s limited military operation was a serious mistake. There was no reason for the Russians to believe that Washington would not use the larger part of Ukraine not under attack to force the Russians into a wider war on the West’s terms, a wider war that could have been avoided if the Kremlin had not been so anxious to minimize the use of force.  As the situation spirals out of control, we might now be living in our last days.

Is this a repeat or a rhyme? Does anyone in NATO understand the magnitude of it all? The Biden bunch is taking its orders from Soros. Hang on for the ride!

This is a good post for some history of the Ukraine area that plays into what is likely to happen next concerning Odessa, Moldova, etc. It is part 4 of a 4 part series.

“Retraining in the flying of the F-16 ” I thought the Ukrainians had never flown them before . Also , it sounds like the author believes Putin hasn’t moved fast enough . Was there a timeline set by Russia for this special military operation I missed ? Wasn’t the article penned by a fellow named “Nightvision” ? Shit happens , situations change , shift on the fly , postures and plans change . If things were going so well for Ukraine , as the west claims , why the increase in arms ? Half will get destroyed on delivery by Russia , which will be a great excuse for Ukrainians to use to abscond with some to be put on the arms market worldwide . Things will either get better or worse , and so it goes .

Gonzalo just today makes a good argument for the opposite approach:

I agree, but for slightly different reasons, stated here before:
The only language that the (Western) psychopaths understand is ‘slow, inevitable grind.’

I think that might work if Russia was only going for the Donbass. Unfortunately, if they don’t landlock Ukraine, NATO will use that to harass and bleed them for years. Russia is going to take Odessa and probably Transnistria. NATO is already installing troops and equipment in Odessa, so that will be a harder fight than Mariupol.
My take on the chances of global nuclear exchange are at 50% now, 48% higher than a month ago.
Be ready. If it goes that way, Russia’s best option is to EMP the US and the Euroclowns. You won’t get 15 minutes warning.

You are misinterpreting the situation. NATO itself is already losing badly in the Donbass, as there the best Ukrainian forces are sitting, trained to NATO-standard for years, and supported by any and all NATO intelligence they could ask for.
No additional Western ground-based [conventional] weapons in Odessa region -even if they could be delivered in meaningful quantities- will change that outcome one bit. (And even potential Western up-to-date jets would probably have a hard time surviving S-400 systems for very long.)

So in summary, no matter how much of Ukraine Russia wants to capture, they will succeed sooner or later. And they’re in no rush.

My take on the chances of [serious, large-scale] global nuclear exchange are around 30% now.
Funnily, I now see the survival chances being better in Europe than in USA, as with new generation Russian missiles the distance offers no protection anymore, and Putin will very carefully target the initiators of this situation with priority, besides Western nuke bases.

I agree with you. I just think NATO will up the stakes to prevent Russia from taking Odessa. That increases the chances of an exchange of missiles.

How long will the soldiers of other countries continue to die for dollars the US can print at no cost? I feel that a more robust attack against NATO wouldbe economic and financial. No big ESP here, as it’s already under way. If t is done before the big birds fly, then maybe they won’t fly at all.

Be ready in any case.

My dear Mr Roberts,

i’ve ALWAYS admired Your efforts, and take great heed.

But the sooner you realize that they’re ALL part-n-parcel of The Global Synchronized Swimming Team, Under 1 & 1/3 ‘management’, The better off and more accepting you will be. ‘Inner peace’, cliched though it may be. VERY Real.

It’s not ordained/foretold to be pleasant.

“Deliveries of American heavy weapons are expected, …”

Bullshit.

— Most of the weapons will never arrive. This is free money for the USA MIC and satanically corrupt Ukies.

— The ones that do arrive will be destroyed by Russia. How do you get gigantic howitzers across the border? I guess PCR isn’t aware that Russia has satellites … or that they have been taking out rail lines and bridges. How do the Ukies get them the 600 or so miles to the Eastern front on land that is flat as a pancake and nowhere to hide?

======================

” … including F-16 aircraft …. Ukraine is already preparing pilots for these machines”

Irrelevant bullshit.

Does PCR think fighter jets are like cars … where they’re all pretty much the same? Preparing pilots? What, in just a few weeks or months?? Bwahahahaha!!! It takes YEARS to be a competent F16 pilot.

Does PCR think an F16 is like my ’95 Buick Century …. needing virtually no maintenance, ever? Those things require massive care and maintenance. Where will that come from? Russia has been doing a damn good job blowing up fuel depots all over Ukraine. Where will the fuel come from? Russia has been bombing and cratering airfields all over country 404.

Not to mention that 404 is running out of military age men. 25% or more of the country has fled. Thousands of Ukie soldiers surrendered, dead, or trapped. So, where the fuck are these pilots coming from? Kyiv High School?

.
.
PCR is one of the very worst analysts — when it comes to this war — that you will ever read. The insidious nature of his crap is that he DOES throw in truthful stuff. Most people will have a difficult time separating the wheat from the bullshit.

Hitting a New Low: Ukrainian Man Posts Video Boasting of ‘Eating Russian Soldier’s Meat’

comment image

An unidentified Ukrainian man shared a video in which he claims to have discovered a human bone with meat in a burnt tank in the Gostomel area – a bone which allegedly belonged to a deceased Russian soldier.

In the chilling footage, the “blogger” proceeds to “cook” what he claims is the human meat of the Russian soldier, only to taste it afterward. He then notes it was always his dream to try the meat of a Russian.

Aside from YouTube, where the video was quickly deleted by the platform for breaching community guidelines, the man shared the footage on his Instagram page, attaching a threatening caption.

“Yes, this is not a clickbate,” he wrote. “All large Telegram channels were shocked. What did you expect? Do you still think we’re happy to see Russian soldiers? The best that awaits them is quick death. The worst – see in the video.”

Oddly enough, he got that from a T-64 (Ukie), not a T-72 (Russian), so he was eating one of his fellows.

Washington, London and the rest of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization nations can make these plans to turn Ukraine into a quagmire for the Russians but Ukraine will soon be the least of their concerns. The economic catastrophe these countries a loosening on themselve with their counter productive economic policies will substantially limit their ability to assist the Ukranians. It will be another lost war for an American led alliance.

It takes a lot of time in a simulator before flying a modern jet fighter without 100% chance of auguring in on day 1.

There’ll be no Top Gun Ukies, nor will there be a way to maintain an F-16 in-theater. They’ll be scrap metal the day they arrive. Fly one in from any NATO country and that country will have no airports to return to. Bet on it.

And USA won’t do shit about Russia spanking any NATO country that sends warplanes to the Ukraine. Russia doesn’t need nukes to achieve total adversary hobbling.

The Russkie’s aren’t fk’n around or floggin’ their hogs when they warn that they’ll retaliate, severely, against any foreign thumb on their SMO scale.

I just hope they’ll nuke congress in a session to vote for multi-billion Ukraine aide instead of fixing our water systems and bridges.
