Owing to the fact that I just about threw my shoulder out of joint in an unsuccessful series of attempts to get my old gas weed whacker started, I just bought an electric weed trimmer that came with an electric leaf blower, a charger and a battery that fits both of the machines. All for $99 from Lowe’s. Craftsman brand. Please don’t think less of me. I promise I’ll start a forest fire to make up for it.
I repair small engines on the side. I have had many customers bring me their gas equipment and tell me I can have it. I tell them they should go buy electric and not deal with the headaches of the gas stuff. I of course fix their free “broken” stuff and sell it. I guess you can say the all electric craze is making me money. I happen to be an engineer as well, so the bonus is, when they fuck them up, I can fix them too!
I have way too many weeds, trees, and lawn for any electric equipment, unfortunately.
