When my pediatrician told me about 5 years ago that they have new policy that all children have to be vaccinated according to the CDC schedule and that I have 1 month to comply or will have to find a new pediatrician, it took me 1 minute to grab my child, go to the front desk and announce as loudly as I could for everybody to hear that I demand a copy of our records because we will have to find a new pediatrician because, clearly, they do not value parents’ choices.

When will parents stop taking their children to the pediatrician altogether to avoid the intrusive questioning?
In Massachusetts, there is a state mandate that in order for children to attend any type of summer camp (as defined by more than 1 hour per day child care during school vacation), you have to provide the camp organizers a pediatrician health form including past medical history and vaccines etc. Interestingly, it is just for camp, not for youth sports activities during the school year.
NEVER leave your child unattended around these people and don’t be hesitant to step in and answer the questions or question why they are doing whatever it is they are doing.
Starting at age 11 or 12 or so, the pediatrician asks the parents to step out so that the child can “ask their questions and discuss health related issues” without parents and supposedly in a free format, alone, with the healthcare provider (who is no more than a groomer himself).
I am telling you, most children are better off never to be taken to a doctor ever again. Unless it is a broken bone or a cut that requires stitches.
I trust my 19 year old neighbor to be alone with my children more than my pediatrician. I do not leave my children alone in the room with a healthcare provider and if they ever ask why, I tell them that trusted physicians have abused gymnasts as widely reported. I don’t really care if they think of me as a crazy helicopter parent. They already think that anyway, with the vaccines and the homeschooling.

We never used a pediatrician. We had a family practice doctor who took care of everything. We only went in if we needed him, and we discussed the least invasive treatments to be tried before drugs or more invasive options.
