Thank God the MSM keeps us informed about the tremendous success of the Ukrainian army. I expect the Ukrainians to be marching into Moscow any moment now. I hear it gets a little chilly in Ukraine during the winter. Ask some old German soldiers and really really really old Napoleonic soldiers. Luckily Ukrainians are superheroes and don’t freeze without heat. Drove by two houses this morning with “Stand with Ukraine” signs on their lawns. I guess they’ll be sending their sons to fight alongside those brave Ukrainian nazis.
‘Massive New Strikes’ Leave 1.5 Million Ukrainians Without Power, Phased Blackouts In Kiev
Now much of Western Ukraine, which lies far away from the front lines of fighting with Russia in the east, is without power due to fresh weekend airstrikes across the country.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a Saturday night address said new “massive” strikes targeted Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Rivne, Volyn and Zaporizhia regions.
“We continue eliminating the aftermath of today’s terrorist attacks on our infrastructure,” Zelensky said. “The geography of this new massive strike is very wide.”
The past days have already seen power outages in Kyiv, with energy grid authorities warning of rolling blackouts, and urging residents to take power-saving measures such as the avoidance of running large appliances.
On Saturday the national power utility operator Ukrenergo said that damage from the latest round of Russian strikes set a new record. The Saturday air offensive by Russia was bigger than an initial major wave of strikes from earlier this month:
Over 1.4 million Ukrainian households have lost electricity after a morning of repeated Russian air raids, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office says.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported that 40 cruise missiles and 16 allegedly Iranian-made drones hit Ukraine throughout the day.
Oleksandr Kharchenko, a Ukrainian energy official, said in an interview with US media that national infrastructure vital for the people is facing “really huge trouble”.
“When you don’t have electricity in a city, it means you have no water, you have no supply of gas, you have nothing,” Kharchenko said. Days prior to the stepped-up Saturday assault the government said one-third of all power stations had been hit or damaged in Russian strikes.
Most new damage to energy has been recorded in the country’s west, south and center, with some hospitals since reporting they are running on backup generators. Reserves of oxygen and fresh water are also being tapped by hospitals.
Ukrenegro has on Sunday introduced phased blackouts to “avoid accidents”, per The Guardian:
The blackouts began at 11.13am local time (09.30am BST), with households in Kyiv divided into three groups that will be “disconnected for a certain period of time”, DTEK said.
It added that the blackouts should last “no more than four hours” but may be longer “due to the scale of damage to the power supply system”.
According to the latest estimate of the damage reported in Reuters, “Russia has hit at least half of Ukraine’s thermal generation capacity and caused billions of dollars of damage in attacks since Oct. 10, but not all stricken power units have stopped working completely, Ukraine’s energy minister said on Friday.”
Further, “Herman Halushchenko told Reuters in an interview that 30-40% of overall national power infrastructure had been hit in attacks that he depicted as intended to destroy Ukraine’s energy system — a goal that he said had not been achieved.”

Ever hear of the term “cat and mouse”? I think that they are just playing with them.
Latest talking point by Dementia Joe and his hacks is “whatever it takes” should be “its time to talk”
Looked at another way, after defeating Covid, taming inflation, helping college grads with low paying jobs (if jobs at all), he can pull off the big one, right before the mid-terms: Achieving Lasting World Peace!
If you consider human annihilation lasting world peace!
The large transformers being destroyed are in short supply worldwide and can take 1-2 years to be ordered and delivered due to backlogs. Unless the peace process is started soon, large areas of Ukraine will most probably be without electricity and the services dependent on it for many years to come. I guess Zelenski really does not care how much his people suffer. Ukraine needs to accept the annexed regions are gone forever and accept peace.
Maybe electric infrastructure will be Musk’s next project – putting the boom in boomtown.
tesla powerwall could power his
starlink satellite internet.
We like war. War is profitable. All that stuff to replace. $$$$$$$$$
The MIC
Unadulterated truuf.
the jews running this war are satanic psychopaths. of course they don’t care about anyone or anything except when they need to weaponize empathy of which i have none for that jewcunt country.
I work for a utility. The transformer outside one of our facilities failed a few years ago. We had to run the entire place on generators for 5 days while a refurbished replacement was trucked in from the other coast. Had that one not been available we were looking at 30 days to have one shipped in from somewhere. All while powering things on massive generators that drink hundreds of gallons of diesel per day.
Diesel is also an issue so I guess pixie dust would be the fuel of choice if it happens anytime soon.
Diesel engines run well on natural gas + diesel, I suggest that Zelensky obtain a large herd of unicorns to supply the necessary gas.
Hell. They’ll run on vegetable oil.
Someone please tell me what they mean by “thermal” generation.
These are not geo-thermal plants, are they?
In the midst of the preview to WWIII, this is literally the politically correct re-branding of coal, oil, and natgas plants so as not to offend “liberal” sensibilities, isn’t it?
No doubt.
Thermal generation is everything except hydro electric. Thermal generation is basically steam powered turbines which can be coal, nat gas, nuclear, geothermal, or any other heat source that can generate steam to turn a turbine.
Right, so why not just say ‘power plant’?
It’s a change of wording in the press from how they would have traditionally reported it. Thus, there’s a reason for it.
” Thus, there’s a reason for it.”

“Thermal” (TPP) is coal fired, HPP is Hydro, NPP is Nuclear.
Our town had its own power plants, including a small hydro plant that still produces power. Of the larger plants, there was an old oil burning plant that was kept in reserve for emergency use only. Once a year it would be fired up and run for about 3 days. Of course, that was before the EPA took over. Maybe old Joe can get a waiver, fire it up again and run an extension cord over to Ukraine so they can stay warm this winter while he sips Hot Toddies in his Delaware basement.
Just a vision of our future. Ukrainians allowed this to happen. It will become a wasteland. We are allowing our useless, parasitic political class to take us down this very same road. We deserve what we have coming to us. Just like the Ukrainians.
Don’t forget to hunt down the former governors and their dogs if you are still alive after that happen.
It’s called Survival of the Fittest.
Fuck the ‘Stand With Ukraine’ idiots ! Those dumb ass’s are probable cut from the same cloth as the idiots that I see on a daily basis who wear a mask while driving in their cars. They also likely want an immediate end to fossil fuels. I hope they starve to death.
Looks to me like Putin has been very patient until recently. Now he is giving Ukraine/ USSA well deserved lesson in RESPECT. I am not a terrorist, or PUTIN lover – but I ain’t WOKE either (take your PRONOUNS and shove them up your ass). I do feel very sorry for all of the innocent Russian / Ukraine men, woman & children (fuck me – can I still say men, women & children?) that have / will suffer / die while the war and dumb ass sanctions rage on. Did someone say ‘FOURTH TURNING’?
Show me a war that did not cause suffering. Other than fake wars like the War on Drugs.
I PRAY for the Innocents. Since poot’n WON’T do what he should have done in the begining?
Wait until You see the pink of that little Fairy’s Stiletto’s. Water-Board him. It’s ‘Legal’.
Maybe if the dipshits in Ukraine rebelled against their own evil government, they could sue for peace and get the power back on. I shall not pity them.
Maybe if the dipshits in America rebelled against their own evil government, they could . . .
It will happen sooner or later.
.
The Russkies should have done that months ago. They may as well nuke the decision making center with hyper sonic missile to send a messenger to the Western fuck.
RIP Flea.
The Russians are losing this war according to the MSM, another $50B should seal the deal for them.
Putin is dumb like a fox, slowly bleeding the US financially and militarily is part of the plan I suspect. What the Ukrainians are really going to need is Blankets and Jackets. The midget kazar boy doesn’t care about the Ukrainian people, chances are he’s not even there.
and China is enjoying every minute of the show.
No different from the war crimes of Clinton in Serbia, H. W. Bush in Iraq, and W. Bush in Afghanistan and Iraq.
when the russians want peace, they will obliterate city of london. until then, it is war as usual.
What about Tel Aviv?
I’m not big on the InfoWars but I bookmarked this to revisit occasionally. It’s coming we just don’t know how it will be dressed up but be assured…it is coming.

Yea…. I am not impressed. I worked for a major Utility for a long time. During that time we went through 2 major firestorms that burned much of our service territory, and one incident in which the entire grid was dropped out, and had to be brought back online, which no one in the company had ever done. In every incident we were able to get service restored in record time.
Even with all the damage in Ukraine, 60% of the grid is still working and that is after being attacked hundreds of times. Electric grids are not as delicate as people would have you believe.
mercouris says the same thing – namely that the soviet grid was built with great redundancy anticipating just such events as are occurring. russia needs much greater attacks to materially impact energy.
on the other hand, when generators are destroyed, that is another matter entirely.
even when restoration of power occurs, the ukrainians are playing whack-a-mole, a distraction they do not need.
i cross my fingers that the russians terminate more power plants.
The grids may not be ‘as delicate as people would have you believe’, but the turbines, substations and transformers are.
That is true, it is the availability of components that is the issue. Much of the production of transformers has been farmed out to developing countries who do not really have the ability to ramp up production quickly. Even 5 years ago, the lead time on transformer orders was 12 to 18 mos. The other side of that coin is that almost every Utility worldwide has an inventory of transformers in stock that could be drawn on in emergency.
Texas may be the poster child for the rest of the country when it comes to “the grid”, but for a simple reason overlooked by infowars: too much of the country has decommissioned their coal plants for wind and solar. If Texas had coal plants running during the unusually cold spell they would not have been anywhere as bad off. Stupid things yield stupid results.
Side note: we lived close to rail lines that Wyoming coal was shipped to Texas-several 120 car trains every day of the year. Not sure the actual count today, but whenever we drive I-25 there are few, if any coal trains headed south.
The other issue is that power plants provide more function in a grid than just generation. They also have the ability to absorb spikes in the grid that solar and wind facilities do not have. Spikes are caused when a malfunction results in load being dumped, and generation exceeding load. Power plants act sort of like a battery with the ability to absorb the spikes. Without that ability, the alternative is shut downs.
