Grocery stores will charge as much as the market will bear. Aldi usually charges $3/lb for butter. They had organic butter for $4.99 a couple days ago. A couple weeks ago I was in Whole Foods and they had eggs from $5 – $11.49 a dozen. I think the $11.49 eggs were from organic free range chickens that are constantly played Haydn by a live string quartet to reduce their stress. And people fall for that shit. They’ll charge whatever they want as long as people will pay it.
