Australia‘s peak actuarial body has asked the government to urgently investigate the country’s “incredibly high” 13% excess death rate in 2022.
What Happened: An analysis of Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data by the Actuaries Institute showed that an additional 15,400 people died in the first eight months of the year in the country.
Actuaries said that number includes around one-third of those having no link to COVID-19.
13% was an “incredibly high number for mortality,” and it was “not clear” what was driving the increase, said Karen Cutter, spokeswoman for the institute’s Covid-19 Mortality Working Group.
“Mortality doesn’t normally vary by more than 1 to 2%, so 13% is way higher than normal levels,” she said.
“I’m not aware [of anything comparable] in the recent past but I haven’t gone back and looked [historically]. They talk about the flu season of 2017 being really bad, and the mortality there was 1% higher than normal. So it’s well outside the range of normal,” she said.
This came after Australia’s latest mortality data released in November showed that there had been 128,797 deaths from Jan. 1 to Aug. 31, which was 17% higher than the historical average.

The Australian death data shows that the deaths in 2022 are at least 3 Standard Deviations above the 2010-2019 baseline on a monthly basis. The highest deviation observed was 7 Std Devs above the mean monthly baseline value.

The real death rates in Australia are worse than the ABS or the actuaries will admit. The ABS selected a baseline for comparing current deaths with historical which is “strange” to say the least. They use deaths in 2017-19 + 2021 as the baseline – most honest experts, like the OECD, use deaths 2015-19 or 2010-19 as the baselines.
if you rework the ABS death numbers, to the end of August 2022 with a 2010-2019 baseline you get:
128,797 deaths, expected 103,310, excess 25298 (24.5%)
The main political parties and medical profession is simply ignoring this so I guess it wouldn’t matter to them provided that corpses weren’t piled up in the street.
I’d note that one of Australia’s neighbours, Indonesia, solved the problem of an intractable, destructive political movement, the Communists, in 1966 by executing 1 -2% of their population. I suspect something similar may have to happen in Australia to clean out an elite that seems to want to be neo-Feudalists and ignore the concerns of most of the people.
