Did you know that our founding fathers lost by one vote the prohibition of lawyers being in congress?
Dimes to dollars they found someway to cheat the vote then too.

Even if we had no lawyers in Congress, the laws would still be written by lawyers. Lawyers owned by someone else writing laws that Congresscritters never read before voting ‘yea’ on them. Not saying that prohibiting lawyers is a bad plan, just that we’d be living in clown world regardless.

Thanks! I am so excited! My family did some broilers in Wyoming when I was a teen. I am hoping egg laying chickens are more friendly.
We have Buff Orpingtons. They are semi- friendly as chickens go but they are good layers and get big enough to butcher. Our rooster is a half Orp half Red and he’s pretty nice for a rooster.
Lol. There’s a road here in East Tennessee by the name of “Roostertown Road.” A man wanted to start a chicken farm and ordered fertilized eggs and when they hatched, they were all roosters.
My wife and I, several years back looked at a house on Tater Peeler Rd in Middle, TN. Look it up to see how it got its name. I’m from Nashville.
Last week I called the Cackle Hatchery in Missouri and was informed that I could not get any chick hens until May. (Roos are plentiful.) I solved that by trading my neighbor a sack of deer corn for 3 dozen mixed breed eggs to put in my incubator. In 19 days, we shall find out what I have. BTW, I’ve hatched enough chicks to know I have to invest roughly $10 in chicken feed for EACH chick before I get my first egg in about 6 months. At about 3 years old, their production slows enough to where they need to be replaced. Did I mention I love chicken and dumplings??
I am buying from Ideal hatchery in Texas and we are in Arkansas. It was over 70 on Monday, middle of January. We are looking at some Nubian milking goats on Saturday. So we have a lot of stuff.coming along. Also getting the garden plot ready. My husband has worked livestock, I have not. So this is going to be fun to learn for me, him maybe not so much! 😝
We got our flock in 2 years ago and the mail was delayed till May and they weren’t shipping so we picked them up in late February. Seems like it’s a mail problem more than high chick demand.

I delivered a lot of crazy things to the post office back in the day; most of the time, I didn’t know what I had until someone inside told me. You can’t miss those chicks in the back of a package car though, or crickets.
