The Kremlin has rushed to commit to China’s plan for peaceful settlement of the Ukraine conflict. It seems that the Kremlin wants peace so much that Putin’s goal of clearing Ukraine of Nazis and demilitarizing Ukraine is now subject to negotiation. https://tass.com/russias-foreign-policy/1581405
The West sees this development as a sign that China does not support Russia’s version of the conflict, and it supports Washington’s impression that Putin is a poseur with no fight in him. Washington’s take on this is that Putin fearing defeat is desperate for a settlement. Washington will respond to this sign of weakness with more provocations.
But is this a correct reading? Or is the explanation that prior to announcing a Russian/Chinese mutual defense treaty, Russia and China have arranged to demonstrate, once again, the West’s refusal of an offer of a peace deal as a justification for such a formidable military alliance as Russia and China?
We know that Putin puts great store on legalisms. The West’s rejection of a third party’s peace settlement, one acceptable to Russia, makes Putin feel he has done all he can to prevent the formation of two nuclear armed camps. Can we soon expect the announcement that Russia and China are committed to mutual defense?
Have the American neoconservatives, being the stupid warmongers that they are, created an alliance capable of disposing of the United States? If Russia and China had the intelligence to include Iran, it would be all over for Washington, which would be reduced to impotence. Such an alliance would be able to dominate Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Is the only question that remains how long before Russia, China, and Iran come together and dispose of us?

Americans are impatient and have short attention spans. We expect that Russia will fight a “special military operation” the way we did Iraq. In the beginning Russia drove its tanks up close to Kiev thinking that Ukraine might see the error of its ways. When that didn’t work, Russia said,”OK, I guess you want to do this the hard way.” They held most of their initial gains while eventually doing the partial mobilization. Since the fall, they’ve been training that force. I see no reason to believe that they won’t achieve their goals on their revised timeline. I think their goals look a lot like this:
I’m going to disagree somewhat. I’m pretty certain the russians knew very well the ukie nazi azov would not be constrained and that the usa was behind the whole affair. How could they not know this?
Imo, they knew the usa would pour billions into the ukie efforts and the russians just have to engage enough to allow the west to bleed to death. Once drained to a bleached out corpse you roll in and clear out the rats. The russians stated many times they have no intention of occupying the Ukraine, because they know its like another Afghanistan. Its takes too many resources and creates to many enemies within, if you are an occupying force. Something the usa hasn’t learned, or rather doesn’t care about because the elitists only send in the peasants sons to die..
If you have the winning hand, you don’t fold. imo, the russians will take ALL of Ukraine. They’ll declare it russian and will pull back and allow the people to manage their affairs. They’ll intervene when the cee eye eh puts its vile fingers back into the pot.
