The American Population Is Not Defending Our Liberty

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

Occasionally, I am asked why I am so down on Americans, calling them insouciant and dumbshits.  The answer is that they do nothing about the erosion of their liberty and the erosion of the Constitution that protects their liberty.   Less than 1 percent of the American population acts in defense of our liberty, and they are punished for it.

“Our” government, acting not for us but for the ruling elite, conducts an operation against us–9/11 for example, or the “Covid pandemic,” and blames it on a few Saudi Arabians who somehow outwitted the entire American National Security State and brought the greatest humiliation to a superpower in world history, or on the sale of bat meat in a Chinese market, and the American population buys such obviously false stories.

One of the reasons this happens is that American conservatives have been primed for decades to see themselves under attack from foreign enemies.  The Cold War solidified this mindset.  Currently American conservatives and Republicans in Congress see the enemies as Russia and China.  They are ready to go to war based on fake news reporting funded by the military/security complex, which sees rising profits in the venture.

But what is really happening is that the Democrats and Biden regime are criminalizing not only the First Amendment but all expressions of truth. Anything said that is not supportive of the official explanations is “misinformation,” “propaganda in behalf of a foreign enemy,” or “domestic terrorism.”

Punishing truth-tellers in America is now an established practice.  Julian Assange, a journalist, has been imprisoned for a decade without due process of law (an innovation of the George W. Bush regime) for reporting documents leaked to him.  Tucker Carlson has been fired from Fox “News” for telling truths unsupportive of the ruling elites.  Matt Taibbi, Glenn Greenwald, and James O’Keefe have been dismissed from the alt media organizations that they founded or, in Taibbi’s case, fired as the leading star of the magazine, all because they told truths instead of official lies.

And what happens? Nothing. The American people continue to be insouciant dumbshits who are unconcerned that their liberties are being erased as they sit using social media, watching CNN, ABC, CBS, listening to NPR, reading the NYTimes, Washington Post. Instead of defending their liberties, they submit to brainwashing and indoctrination by the forces of tyranny and support those who deceive them with their patronage.

A country with a population this stupid has no future.

The demise of liberty is one of the costs of being a multicultural Tower of Babel.  In such a non-nation, there is no unity, and, therefore, no constraint on the ruling oligarchy.

As our founding fathers feared, America hasn’t lasted much beyond 200 years.

He got “insouciant” into the first sentence. I think that’s a record.

What are PCR’s suggestions on how to fight back? I already boycott everything.

I’ve been suggesting solutions for over 35 years, many which have been become mainstream / implemented. Tribing up. Getting out of the cities and back to homesteading. The resurgence of exercising the 2nd amendment (both in carry and the militia). Getting prepared. Finding a venue that a tribe can control and influence. Hoarding and using copper and current coin. Learning skills and hoarding tools Being our own industries / economy.
Those are just the ones I can recall of the top of my head.
I’ve also written many solutions on the political level, some which I have actually talked to PCR about. Constitutional carry has actually been implemented at many state levels. Getting us out of the drug wars / wars. State defending their own borders. Having drop off points for babies. Was a big in the 911 truth movement from day 1.
On and on. I don’t just bitch about the problem.
Your turn. Oh, that’s right you are afraid to even show your face.

Then why do you need solutions from PCR?
You already have them all. Problem solved. What are you whining about?

What I have done on a personal level is most in paragraph one, except extended tribe can be kind of hard to find, everything else is going swimmingly and in spades.

pcr & the pro chattering bits of the chattel are always quixotic. like the ‘proverbial’ (it ain’t all that) busted clock, every once in a while the Don charges a windmill just as its mechanicals seize & that coinciental correlates its way into his/tory books as “victory.”

there is nothing to do about “the public.” it is a windmill.

As a simple citizen who recognizes voting does not matter. One has to prepare to do what Solzhenitsyn regretted.

Not enough people resisted in the Soviet Union when resistance was still a possibility. In a footnote to Volume 1 of The Gulag Archipelago, Solzhenitsyn had this to say about the profound regret that he, and many of his fellow Russians, latter endured in the realization that more could have been done to avoid the living hell that overcame Russia under the rule of the communists.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say goodbye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrest, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood that they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? After all, you knew ahead of time that those bluecaps were out at night for no good purpose. And you could be sure ahead of time that you’d be cracking the skull of a cutthroat. What about the Black Maria sitting out there on the street with one lonely chauffeur – what if it had been driven off or its tires spiked. The Organs [Soviet state institutions] would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!”

“If…if… We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation. We spent ourselves in one unrestrained outburst in 1917, and then we hurried to submit. We submitted with pleasure! … We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward. “(The Gulag Archipelago, Volume 1)

They’ve perfected the strategy where now, people are worshipping the enforcers with blue line stickers and flags and all that patriotic jazz.

I never believed that patriotism was defined by waving a flag; but now many people seem to think that it’s defined by waving a defaced (desecrated) flag.
A pox on such morons.

The gulag regrets are powerful, but like most wisdom of old are easily lost in the hubris of modernity. We are smarter. We beat the Commies. We are Progress embodied.

Human nature being what it is means there is a destiny baked in. “Covid” should have peeled this banana bare. I’m gonna keep my paycheck. Embrace the new normal. Not make my wife uncomfortable around the in-laws so mask up.

The only thing more dangerous than the evil dear leaders are the slumbering masses activated toward a cause they have been conditioned to see as righteous.

The sh*t sammich we are presently munching seems to be the worst of those natures that both Orwell and Huxley addressed in their famous works.

Both top-down tyrannical abuses from an unjust all-encompassing power and years of bottom-up conditioning of a population to avoid any discomfort, pursue pleasure and distraction constantly, and to indulge their sense of self and identity as a function of compliance and submission to the mass.

When the organizing principles of society are both at odds with observable reality, tradition, history, etc. AND animated by extreme base pursuits and limbic insta-reward ‘the People’ are the weapon.

When the dominant ideology includes diverse multi-culti tribal groups curried into hostility to the legacy population well that’s some secret sauce right there.

PCR and the avoidant non-confrontational lolbertarians seem incapable of overcoming their cogdis and penchant for lobing well-reasoned arguments and retreating to their gulch to become full of ‘hate’. Reason is the knife at the gunfight of clown world.

Too bad because those hatefacts and wrongthink and the purging of all crimestop from ones head are conditions precedent to meeting the chekist at the door with a 12ga. The People are mostly lost and dangerous.

Which is why finding your people now and building community now matters. Resistance is what you do before the pressure of your personal economic reckoning has you turning in your neighbors. It is about what you are willing to give up now to build those intangibles for later.

Without a community, by the time the agents show up its already too late for anything other than martyrdom. Though lots on the internet claim to be ready to do just that. And perhaps that will count for something this time around.

the mistake i see/say, have been since days of lad~which is the best place in time to personally experience it, too ~ is that ‘community’ is, in most configs, infantry, trying to hold hamburger hill helper. or branch davidian, w/waco siege sauce.

toe-to-toe, pitched battles, hold the line … no. just no. that is, those are, attrition mop-up ops.

safety in numbers is a social contagion-emotion. an instinct/reflex. nervous systems lie.

say it this way, tho, & maybe the pic clarifies: safety in lotto numbers. some of those branch davidians “won.” Some of the weaver family “won.”

martyrdumb counts for the same something all the billions of ‘didn’t win’ scratch tickets do. game-frame (analogy/metaphor/simile) … players who play to win do not play these games.

but look around. these lost cause games are the surround.

had a conversation recently with a guy that did what the vietnam lrrp’s devolved into (gone now … drones do the work …). that’s the game play with the highest favorable odds.

(generalist-specialists diffused into the woodwork, not concentrated sight-pictures hanging on the wood paneling. see jaguar paw’s move, end of Apocalypto.)

& leave the white feather out of your headdress, too. because this really ain’t a game.

Solzhenitsyn had it right … and our overlords might never see it coming during the first few attempts by US to take back our lives and our Nation … but it has to happen on a large enough scale that (((they))) get the message to ‘leave US alone’ once and for all …

I am an AMERICAN!
I love JESUS!
I love my COUNTRY!
I both fear and loathe our government!
I firmly believe most people have never read the Constitution or its commentary, The Federalist Papers or the Bible for that matter,or worse, think it doesn’t affect them.
How could they know???,they are ignorant of all the above!
To the questions about what to do?…I think returning to our founding PRINCIPLES will do……but you cannot promote that to which you are ignorant of….

I think that the only solution is armed conflict. That is not an easy choice and comes with extreme personal risk. Once that choice has been made there is no turning back. We’re talking about a life or death decisions here. Our Government was allowed to grow into this monster under our watch PCR. You and I both have some responsibility for the destruction of out nation by our own inactions. We failed this current generation by that inaction and like it or not, we must own that.

Fear not them that can kill the body but fear the one that can destroy both body and soul.

That is the first step towards freedom. The second step towards freedom is forming a community of like minded peoples for mutual benefits. The third step in freedom is not participating in an evil and corrupt system.

Know your path, fight for whats right. We are in a war that will eventually go kinetic, prepare accordingly.

I do so love people who bitch about other people not wanting to do their fighting and dying as they hand wring about injustice. The same people who went along with the plan for decades while the rest of us served in the armed forces then got out and worked 60 to 80 hours a week to raise our families and just wanted to be left alone to enjoy what little free time we had left over to enjoy time with friends and family. You can kiss my a$$, we got one shot left and I don’t plan on wasting it for your entitled grift.

The American public is a victim of their own prosperity. As it is said, good times make weak men. America is now a nation of weak men.
The only way the American public will ever stand up again, is if there is a protracted period of very hard times which will create the strong men, that will have the courage to stand up.
That will not happen during my lifetime, so I am not looking for things to improve, only to deteriorate further. I was extremely lucky to have lived during the good times in America, and I am very grateful to have experienced it. I feel compassion for the young people today who will have to live through what is coming.
