Gun Control Debate Ignores the Real Problems

Guest Post by Ron Paul

Gun control advocates continue to claim that only restrictions on gun ownership will keep people safe from mass shooters and other criminals. However, good people with guns can stop bad people with guns. And bad people will still have guns despite gun control laws. Further weakening the argument that restricting private firearms ownership will reduce violent crimes is the fact that states with “constitutional carry” — where individuals are free to exercise their Second Amendment rights without seeking permission from the government — have lower homicide rates than states with more restrictive gun laws.

One policy that is popular among gun control supporters and some who normally support the Second Amendment but want to “do something” about gun violence is red flag laws. These laws allow law enforcement to confiscate an individual’s guns based on a report that the individual poses a threat to public safety. Red flag laws allow governments to restrict the exercise of a constitutionally protected right without due process.

Another weakness in the argument that more restrictive gun laws will reduce violence is that many of the cities and states with the highest incidence of violent crime have restrictive gun laws. Gun control supporters try to explain this by blaming individuals who bring guns from states with more permissive gun laws into states with more restrictive gun laws. The guns can, though, at the same time be coming from states with less violent crime into states with more violent crime. But, if guns were the problem, then violent crime would be higher in states with permissive gun laws than in states with more legal restrictions related to firearms.

The gun control debate ignores the root causes of rising violence, which is a symptom of the decline of traditional morality that respected every individual’s inalienable right to life, liberty, and property. This traditional morality has been replaced with a nihilistic philosophy that denies moral law and natural rights. Instead, it justifies doing whatever one feels is necessary to achieve one’s goals.

This disregard for a higher moral law finds expression in a foreign policy that then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright famously supported while defending US sanctions that starved Iraqi children. The US is viewed as the world’s “indispensable nation,” and whatever it does is automatically considered right, regardless of the human suffering caused by the US government’s overseas interventions.

We also see this expression of disregard for a higher moral law in support for abortion that is based on the idea that preborn do not have the right to life. Whether the baby lives or dies is called a matter of “choice.”

Should we be surprised a society produces mass shooters and other psychopaths when government, schools, media, entertainment, and even some churches promote nihilism that devalues human life?

While government can undermine morality, it cannot promote virtue. Any attempt to use government power to “make people good” will inevitably result in tyranny. It will also lead to a less virtuous population. Instead, those seeking to replace the nihilism with a philosophy that recognizes that all humans are born with inalienable rights should work to restore limited constitutional government that does not attempt to provide for the people’s material or spiritual needs.

To be fair, we also have an FBI manufactured-shooter problem:

Bad, armed, rayciss/antigay/antitrans/etc. cis-het-Christian whitey. Must ban guns to help sell bugburgers/vax/15-min smart cities, digicoin mark of the beast social credit scores and smart meters for eater and electricity, etc.

Whenever you hear Dems. / Leftists / MSM say : ” WE need to have a ‘conversation’ about guns ” what they mean is ” Lets talk about what rights and freedoms we will demand you GIVE UP NEXT to appease us ” ….. of course they are never satisfied , and will be back in mere weeks or months.

Not. One. More. Inch.

It is time to restore rights already lost.

Why would you think you need a gun ? Big Daddy Gubbermint will protect you.

All any gun grabber has to do is watch consecutive episodes of ‘The First 48’.
Matter of fact, binge on it for consecutive days.
They will find out that illegal guns are everywhere that even a 12 y/o knows where to get them and who’s selling. Could take as little as a couple hours to get a gun. Any gun, revolver, Reuger, all automatics, CHOPPERS, ammo, anything they want is for sale.
In major cities 12 y/o on up are carrying black market guns and are swift to pull them out and rob/ shoot to kill for any reason. Even their best friend for a dime bag of weed. Children robbing & killing. With no conscience.
Where are all these non traceable guns coming from flooding the streets? Guess.
And they want to disarm law abiding citizens who carry for their protection? Who have jumped thru all the hoops to legally buy?

A simple Q., who has the MOST TO GAIN by making sure these guns are available, just like they did with drugs fifty years ago…..
And gov.advances……..

Ps.a license is something you need to practice something that has been MADE ILLEGAL!….technically, there is NO “black gun market”in America…..just a free one….
There are NO illegal guns, just people prohibited by their government…..stop using their terminology,it’s wrong…

“…the decline of traditional morality”

The libertarian writer stays employed in part due to the requirement to constantly seek out new and improved language to address the complex and “nuanced” problems mushrooming up every night, without addressing the pile of manure beneath.

Such is the paradox of Magic Dirt.

The epitaph of Western Civilization might be “Ignores the Real Problems” but then that assumes the righteous progress of eliminating White culture, as safeguarded by the “limited constitutional government” established by a certain heritage people, will include such remembrances.

“All humans are born with inalienable rights” perhaps so, but an awful lot of humans around the world are not interested in those rights. They are interested in your stuff. They have come here and are still coming.

Restoring what was lost by utilizing the same system that enabled its destruction, with a population that in no way resembles the framers of that system, is some kind of fat man eye of needle problem.

The only “gun problem” is that 2A was not used successfully to solve that fat man problem long ago and so now we have State social workers carving out that “right” between doling out more psych pills to kids of the disenfranchised because the manure is everywhere. Its who we are.

Firearms are inanimate objects – ‘they’ do not commit murder or ‘mass shootings’.
Murder is already ‘illegal’ , so how does another ‘law’ stop it? It does not and will not.
As stated, loss of Christian morality is the root cause. Also, again not listening to God’s word and allowing ‘multiculturalism’, is also at the base of the problem – when this country [and all of Christendom] was [overwhelmingly] majority White, we did not have these problems. Look past the media propaganda – the vast, vast majority of these – and all – murderers are non White and/or mentally disturbed sexual perverts.
Follow God’s Word and segregate ourselves into White nations with public, Christian ethos and 90+% of our problems disappear. Go further and follow Biblical principles on dealing with murderers, rapists, homos/trannies etc and that percentage goes higher. Its worked in the past, it will work again. II Chronicles 7:14 my friends…

The second amendment assures the American citizenry the ultimate veto over government over reach as the powers that be wade deep into the historical pool of tyrannical rule !
The leftist drive to disarm Americans is rooted in their drive for command and control of every aspect of human existence. This includes life and death which the most recent attempt to force the will of tyranny thru the use of medical bureaucratic propaganda had nominal success .
Those that refused and resisted though a minority have had their suspicions proven correct beyond any reasonable doubt .
These propagandized attacks against Americans rights are going to continue until the bonds placed upon free minded determined people are ultimately shattered .
LEO’s take a lesson from history and choose carefully who you truly work for ! A tyrannical Government or the people being crushed by said government !
Remember when you stand in the defendants box at a Nuremberg style trial the just doing my job or following orders excuse will not protect you from the gallows

Not arguing that there aren’t mostly military aged males in that swarm.

Not doubting that some of them are indeed agents for some sort of pernicious actor, foreign military or cartel, or simply small-time crooks going to an easier candy store.

But in the spirit of discussion I posit that the large majority are job/wage seekers.

I’ve read that the cartels charge up to fifteen-thousand for their coyote services and that credit is extended with one’s family as collateral.

Who will the family send? An oldster? A working age female who might get employment as a motel maid? Their pretty little daughter? The toddlers?

‘Course not. Send a strong young male who has a chance of making, relatively speaking, big money as a simple laborer.

We here all know how easy it would be to stop the job seekers and even cause those who are here, to self deport.

Enforce the already established laws. Truly enforce with maximum penalties.

We here also know that government office holders, high and low, government bureaucrats, high and low, understand their positions are dependent on the status quo.

As a solution I suggest TBPers and like minded people at other sites become educated poll watchers. Don’t leave the poll or the counting room because the head-she-boon-in-charge, says “Were closing for the night. You leave and I’ll close up.” We need poll watchers, guys and gals with balls, to say “I don’t trust you. We’ll leave arm in arm or I won’t leave.”

Learn the requirements for citizen’s arrest.

I further suggest that I.T. adept patriots monitor the I.T. shenanigans in real time.

We can do MUCH more than we have been doing to monitor the BS at the polls without waiting until the cartridge box is the only option.

Our country is worth a try.

See that caravan of illegals pictured above ? That is how they cheat at the polls next time.

Trump and GOP talking about doing their own ballot harvesting. Good luck. The registering of millions of illegals and placing them in districts that are vulnerable will flip many to Blue from Red.

I hate Red Flag Laws that eliminate Due Process; similar to the Shit Ass Feminist Lawyer who took a Standard Off The Shelf Restraining Order that had nothing to do with me, put my name on it and got my lying feminist wife to sign it to build a false case, then got a Communist Judge to signed it with no Due Process, which then ultimately resulted in breaking up my marriage, family and stealing my property. That and my ex-wife’s innate natural liberal insanity ruined her life. But dear gun grabbers and legislators, write a law directing the Sheriff to investigate tips and take intelligent action from nothing to a SWAT team. Sensibly nip some of the mass shootings in the bud. No telling how many FBI agent provocateurs will also be taken off the streets.

One of my coworkers got on her Gun Control soapbox one time too many. I suggested that guns owned by negroes should be collected first since those were the most dangerous ones. Trying to explain to an HR female exactly why i thought that was funny was a lost cause. Still a 2 week suspension at the start of fishing season had it’s benefits. Weather was absolutely beautiful. In 2023 America, that comment woulda got me sent to Gitmo.
