I’m not big on movies. Seventeen years ago on a date night with my wife, we went to our local theater to see what I was told was a funny movie entitled Borat. A half-hour into it I began to smell a rat. It was more ridiculous than hilarious. Then came a scene where the Borat character goes into a gun store and asks the owner what would be a good gun to use for killing Jews. This was his idea of humor. Instead of grabbing this fool by his wooly noggin and tossing him back into the street, they started having a conversation on the subject. That was enough for me. I stormed out. This was just another Hollywood shit-head denigrating white men (except Jews, of course.) I made a vow to never again put one cent down on a movie I didn’t know to be honest and honorable.
In my old age, I’ve come to detest violence of any sort. That includes sports I use to love like football and boxing. No more. If there is a car accident I speed past it without a glance. If someone is bleeding I’m the last guy you would want on the scene. It’s especially painful seeing children hurt. Since the birth of my first grandchild 4 years ago and again becoming sensitized to how precious and vulnerable they are has deepened my anguish.
So it was with some trepidation that I decided to see The Sound of Freedom. I heard an interview with the star and producer Jim Caviezel that described the plot. It was the true story of a Homeland Security agent who goes to amazing lengths to crack a child prostitution ring. Caviezel explained he wanted the movie to raise the issue in the public conscience. I felt obligated to support this good man. It took him five years to overcome the political obstacles to release it. We don’t have to wonder why. Reduced to its essence, it’s the story of a white, Christian man who places his life in mortal jeopardy to save little brown babies. Don’t expect many rave reviews in the corporate press.
I must tell you this film tore me up. I had the presence of mind to stuff my pockets with Kleenex prior to walking in and they came in handy. There were so many times when tears welled up. In one scene they go from seeing this kidnapped nine-year-old girl working in a brothel to then switching to her father back in Guatemala staring at her empty bed crying. I managed to stifle a crying jag, but only just so. I’m welling up now recalling it. It’s impossible not to juxtapose myself in that situation staring at the empty bed of a missing grandchild.
I am not going to critique the movie. My point here is to urge you all to see it. It is a riveting tale of a genuine hero who stood alone, truly all alone, and defeated evil. It was explained that child prostitution has become a major industry owing to the fact that you can sell a bag of cocaine once but a child in servitude can produce revenue 5 times a day, seven days a week. It’s also the United States that is the biggest market for these desperate children, yet more proof of our decline into perdition. These kids need our help. Please see this film but don’t forget the Kleenex.
I’ve reentered the spiritual realm via the back door. I wish I could report that I have felt the presence of Christ in my soul. I’m still working on that part. My epiphany came as a result of a growing sense of the presence of Satan. It crept up on me over time. It was codified by the speech President Demento gave last August. The evil iconography mixed with the message that Trump supporters, all 74 million of them were potential domestic terrorists pushed me over the top. Satan is among us.
That a man can see a naked child and feel sexual desire is beyond my comprehension. The very thought makes me physically ill. This is such a degradation of the human spirit it must have a mystical component. But if there is a dark side to this phenomena there must also be a light side. I’m dragging myself to the light.

The movie is worth seeing and reading the rolling stone review of it is an amazing example of what propaganda looks like. This was the most non political movie you could find it has a simple premise: Pedophiles are evil. Yet people find fault with it.

I looked at that Tim Ballard Exposed twitter profile. The account was opened in May 2023 and there is no info on who this person is. A lot of his info he tweets comes from the same smear MSM sources like Vice, Rolling Stone, etc. There are the accusations and tax records I linked in my post a few days ago and according to Charity Watch there are some unanswered disturbing questions in the records, such as 50 million cash reserves while raising funds for the movie.
There is a lot of exposure of the movie, it was accepted in theaters all over the country despite Hollywood studios ability to put pressure on them whether to show or not show a movie.
If Ballard is really the bad guy they say he is, then I hope scandal does not cause more disbelief regarding human trafficking because it is a real worldwide problem.
If he is really good guy, then he should be able to sue for defamation.
I guess we will see what happens.

Get your facts straight. This did not come out of ‘Hollywood’, it was picked up by Angel Studios, that uses crowd funding as the source of revenue. They did the same thing with ‘The Chosen’.

Angel Studios did not use crowd funding to buy and release this movie. It was completed in 2018 as a Fox release, but when Disney bought them out it supposedly got caught up in the acquisition and was shelved. More likely, Disney just did not want to release a child-trafficking movie, for obvious reasons.
But back to Angel Studios, they went bankrupt in 2021 after fighting the big Hollywood studios over streaming content on their VidAngel site. From Wiki:

That is a remarkable turn-around in only a year’s time, would you not say? Some would, in fact, call that an unbelievable one.
Also, the timing of this movie’s release, as child trafficking has become a hot social issue, is most curious. Why did no other studio, independent or otherwise, not try to buy this movie five years ago, if it is so controversial? Controversy makes money, and all movies are made to make money. The point is, this movie would have made the same money had it been released in 2018 — possibly much more.
Some people will say “they” did not want it released, and that “they” are doing all “they” can to smear it, but I say that “they” are promoting it by giving it negative MSM press, because “they” know this movie’s target audience does not trust them anyway. So the old adage about bad press being better than no press is definitely at work here. “They” knew “they” had a sure-fire hit on “their” hands; do you honestly believe “they” would pass that up?
This is a “BASED on a true story” movie — in other words, liberties were taken in regards to storyline, just like, say, “Schindler’s List.” Make no mistake, though, this is still only a movie. One which depicts all child traffickers as White men, no less.

I learned all about child trafficking when I lived in Eastern Europe back in the ’90’s. This movie only scratches the surface, which tells you how deep this rabbit hole is.
The Ukraine and most Slavic countries have the worst trafficking: they have to sell their children they are so poor — and the majority of their clientele is non-White. If you ask me, Disney is still behind this, but they could not put their name on it as it hits too close to home. They needed a way to get this thing out there — it was always going to be a sure-fire hit — but they were doing so well these past five years, it was not a priority. They would not sell off a movie like this. Notice Disney had no problem releasing the R-rated “Deadpool” movies which were also acquired from Fox, as well as others.
This year, though, Disney has been a sinkhole; their Woke shitty movies have tanked at the box office. White people quit supporting them. They felt the heat. They needed money. Time to release the Kraken.
So, they bought out this Mormon media company they had helped squash into bankruptcy a few years ago for cheap, pumped it up with just enough cash to viably buy and release a movie, then helped them further by letting them release it in their own Hollywood studio-run movie theaters. As happens with independent studios who try and release movies already know.
But this way, Disney gets the money they need and keep their name out of it: a win-win.

I was looking at statistics what they may or may not be worth about child trafficking in Belarus since you mentioned that area of the world in the early 90’s. Certainly what you say about poor has merit just as my observations about Mexico in the 70’s. Possibly this way now in Mexico, a father offering his young daughter for prostitution (poverty).

Doing research since today is 2023 , not 1990, we would need to analyze the numbers with no idea absolute validity of the data in order to determine areas with the worst child trafficking. Researching the subject it seems most if not all organizations that offer information use UNODC data. This is not a plug for UNODC, just saying many of the sites I visited reference UNODC data.

Looking to me by the chart’s most recent data in 2020 the top three countries (worst) for child trafficking are Nepal (South Asia), Italy (Southern and Western Europe), and Guatemala (Central America).

With respect, I’m not really interested in a back and forth on this.
I believe that too often well-meaning folks tend to find something nefarious in everything we see and hear these days. It is good to deep dive and make sure we are not being deceived but, sometimes I think the pendulum swings too far in that direction. Some things are just as they appear to be.
IMHO, I believe this was a movie, yes, a movie, that Hollywood and TPTB did not want to see get the light of day. It took almost 5 years for it to get to theaters because of a lawsuit. It is a good movie in that it is well acted, well directed, well scripted, and it has a powerful message.
IMO the movie did not portray blatant untruths based on accounts of Tim Ballard in various interviews. IMO I don’t think Ballard made this up. The money connections, whatever, it is said God uses things man cannot comprehend the final result.

‘The Chosen’, produced by the son of the guy who wrote the ‘Left Behind’ books. Really makes you think.
Was there something wrong with The Chosen? We were thoroughly impressed by the series.
Perhaps I was not clear. I was merely stating that the money raised for producing the Chosen was all done through crowd funding. It was all outside of Hollywood.
And, I agree. The Chosen was impressive and although I was already a Christian, I was very moved by many of the episodes.
What actually moved you, Brewer? I thought it was well acted and had a very good story line and the set and costuming were also very well done. But most of it was conjecture on what the apostles were like as flawed humans and very little of it was scripture related, just a few stories and miracles. It attempted to show the human side of Jesus, something you don’t see much of in scripture. I thought it was well done on that point and made Jesus more relatable as a human. But if you were not a Christian and unfamiliar with scripture you would not know what is true and what is conjecture.
My favorite scene was when Mary Magdaline regressed and fell back into sin but repented and Jesus forgave her. Totally made up but you could see how that could happen with any one of his followers.
It’s been awhile since I’ve watched the earlier seasons but, in particular, the scene were Jesus talks with Nicodemus on the rooftop. Nicodemus realizes that Jesus is indeed, the Son of God. Later, when Jesus is about to leave with his disciples, Nicodemus is watching from the corner of a building. Jesus knows he is there but, the desires of this world keep Nicodemus from going with Jesus and following him as a disciple. Nicodemus weeps because he does not go and he knows why he does not go.
Another scene, I believe in season 3, is where ‘little John’ is upset because Jesus has not healed him of his gimp but, he witnesses the healing of many others. Jesus explains to him why. James also weeps but, he understands why he has not been healed and that he has been called to a higher purpose.
To address your comments on the fact that the director and screenwriter take some liberties with writing a contiguous storyline that is not fully representative of the written word in the bible. I get that but, there are many gaps of time in the bible and, if the script were written verbatim, there would be many, many gaps that wouldn’t make a lot of sense to a viewer. In my personal opinion, I did not see anything in the 3 seasons of episodes that had me saying ‘wait a minute!’… Instead, there were times that the hair stood up on my arms and I was close to weeping at some scenes, like those mentioned above, that I believe, were depicting the love of Christ.
In closing, I found it compelling enough to share with my non-believing brother the link to the show. Although he has still not crossed the line into salvation, he shared with me that many scenes in the series drove him to tears watching it.
I believe this show is anointed in a special way and my hope, and prayer, is that there are unchurched folks that watch it and are moved to accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior.
The Nicodemus scene you referenced was also very good. You get from scripture that he was afraid to talk to Jesus except when he could do it in secret. He most likely came around after Jesus rose from the dead. There is the discussions in the Sanhedrin during the passion in the Gospels that the Gospel writers would have to have gotten the information from Pharisees.

I saw the movie yesterday and was torn between a mixture of deep sadness and rage. One reoccurring thought I had was that God should just go ahead and pull the plug. Every one involved in the sale of God’s children will go to hell and I really want to help send them on their journey!
After the movie, the majority of the audience stayed and joined in a mass prayer. Only then could I not hold back the tears.

I did not cry but the lady sitting next to me must have gone through a box of Kleenex. I never spoke to her other than at the end commenting how evil. She had two young girls with her so I’m thinking she is their grandmother and perhaps the reason for her emotions the horror one of her grandkids be abducted and molested by perverts.
What blows my mind are the black and white vids shown at the end of people literally driving up to a child in a crowded street and snatching them. I have to wonder does no one see this? Surely they do yet how many step up tp the plate at THAT TIME to rescue the child. If I witnessed this sort of thing even at my age I would do something to try to prevent such abductions. The kill mill I assisted a group of concerned people has closed thank the Lord. Interesting the mill I stood at was in an area I counted 400 churches listed in online phone book within a six mile radius of the mill yet the only “church” representation was a few nuns from a Catholic church. I only participated twice and the last time upon leaving within three blocks was a sign in a residential yard that read “End Abortion” with a couple of references to Bible verses. My wife was driving and I asked her to stop and turn around and go back to the house with sign. “Why” she asked. I told her I wanted to give the resident some of the handouts we tried to distribute at the kill mill, which by the way were “accepted” by some but then thrown out in the street as we were told to FO, there is no God etc. I asked the resident at that house if she ever went to the mill being only three blocks away on kill days, normally Thursdays, to pray for the life in the womb fixing to be ended. She said no but she and her husband are against abortion.
And they ask me WHY I carry.
I get that but shooting someone for throwing dog shit at you may bring regrets serving time in prison. Must remain cool if participating in calling out for the lives of the unborn because there may be a dog shit thrower in the crowd of demons objecting to one’s presence in that capacity.
The proprietors at the kill mill I stood were unbelievable in their actions. There were perhaps a dozen men wearing those orange safety vests that escorted women into the facility once they had driven in the parking lot. The rules were not to cross the backside on the sidewalk as that was generally the property line location for the private property. The goons in the vests watched like hawks and would call the police if they thought you had stepped over the line. We would stand within the street ROW at a drive entrance and sometimes people entering would stop and take our handouts. That really upset those goons. And guess what, the police advised we not do that. Imagine that.

After many years of having the “Amber Alert” turned off on the cell phone, I’ve initiated it recently. While the audible alert is very annoying and I see no options to select another, after being interested in Sound of Freedom I’m thinking how many of the alerts are kids being stolen and placed in this trafficking stuff. Perhaps the alerts will serve to enhance my own awareness and who knows I may be able to plug some cockroach for stealing kids.
Amber alerts, generally, happen because a non-custodial parent took children from a custodial parent and ran. Most of the time it’s a black daddy who is already has a laundry list of previous charges, doing it for revenge, not because he wants the kid.

I saw the film this week on a weekday at an early afternoon matinee. It was a sunny mid-seventy-degree day and the theater was 2/3 full. It was a very well-made and poignant film. Given the original footage shown and some (very) limited outside research, it appears the events revealed in the film actually occurred. Even if dramatized for effect, that’s the way of storytelling.
From a cynical point of view:
-U.S. .gov (i.e. Dept of Homeland Security) is portrayed as mostly noble
– Why would the film be released now? To normalize pedophilia in a similar way Snowden normalized surveillance? So in a few weeks when the public goes apathetic again, then silence means consent in the mind of The Borg? To divert the public’s gaze away from certain pedo rings while highlighting the problem in Latin America? – In order to suck people in and then discredit those involved in making the film later?
Other reasons? I can think of a few politically-motivated ones, how ‘bout you
From a face-value (positive) perspective:
– Interesting how CCrider posted the Naomi Wolfe essay (which I just read today) because while watching the film… I found myself considering how every day everywhere there are people honestly working in accordance with “good” principles (even suffering loss in so doing) as others simultaneously engage in nefariously selfish and evil schemes. I found the courage of those taking a stand, and especially going on the offense, inspiring.
– Correspondingly, some men (both white and brown) were shown to be honorable as other people (both white and brown) were evil. But the contrast between courage and cowardice was crystal clear.
– This film has further exposed the shamelessly propagandized MSM to those who may be just now awakening from their global narrative delusion (some, perhaps, even as a result of this movie)
– The film forces those watching to unblinkingly face evil while knowing the story is based on actual events… and while understanding those events are a minuscule drop-in-the-bucket of a much larger global problem.
– America, the “land of liberty”, is identified as the primary consumer of pedo slavery.
Just my brief two cents.

You know, then make a google map of all the theaters to never again patronize.
When you get that list together, stop by the grocery store and buy a “shrimp ring”.
Go to the ‘fucking around’ theaters with a bag of the shrimp. Squeeze one into the void in the bottom of the armrest. Decide to try another seat. Repeat.
Go back to the teller and get your money back before the movie starts.
You have just made that theater uninhabitable two-three days from now. Especially if the AC is off.

I’m of two minds on this one.
OK, good production values and a heart tugging script. One would expect these improvements with the bigger budgets the Christian film makers enjoy with each successive commercial venture.
But, what I want from a movie like this is a clear message that putting your butt in a church pew like you have every Sunday of your life instead of getting busy finding the evil bastards and giving them their early and well deserved retirement in Hell with their boss is the correct response now that you know the problem is this large and apparently this close to home.
