US is not a democracy – Putin

Via RT

The Russian leader has called the political situation in America a “catastrophe”

The US has become a global laughing stock by criticizing democratic processes in other nations while suppressing a presidential candidate in its own election, Russian leader Vladimir Putin has claimed.

Speaking to journalists in Moscow early on Monday morning, shortly after preliminary results indicated he would be reelected with 87% of the vote in the Russian presidential election, Putin stated that the “whole world is laughing at what is happening” in the US.

“We are behaving with more restraint than their opponents in other countries, but this is just a catastrophe, not a democracy – that’s what it is,” the Russian leader added.

Putin claimed that the current US administration is using all its resources to attack a candidate for this year’s presidential election, seemingly referring to Donald Trump. The former US leader is facing a litany of lawsuits despite being the presumptive Republican nominee for the vote in November.

In a pre-election interview earlier this week, Putin insisted that Russia does not meddle in foreign elections and will work with any elected US president.

“I think it’s obvious to everyone that the American political system cannot claim to be democratic in any sense of the word,” he said in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselyov. Putin refused to comment further on the current presidential campaign in the US, but described the atmosphere as becoming “increasingly uncivilized.”

More to the point, it is no longer a functioning Constitutional Republic.

It is BECOMING a democracy…of anarchists.

That should concern the entire world.

Anarchoterrorists maybe. Anarchists (no government)…LOL. Indeed, no longer a Constitutional Republic, but blame Lincoln for that as much as anyone else.

I have no problem with anarchists.

anarchism: cluster of doctrines and attitudes centered on the belief that government is both harmful and unnecessary. Anarchist thought developed in the West and spread throughout the world, principally in the early 20th century.

We would all be better off with anarchy than what we currently have for government.

republic
r: a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and who in modern times is usually a president – merriam-webster

democracy – a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections – merriam-webster

So, is the United States a democracy or republic?

For all practical purposes, it’s both. In everyday speech and writing, you can safely refer to the US as a democracy or a republic. If you want or need to be more precise in referring to the system of the US, you can accurately call it a representative democracy. And should you need to be exacting? The US can be called a federal presidential constitutional republic or a constitutional federal representative democracy. dictionary.com

We are a representative or constitutional republic with a limited democracy not a direct democracy and a representative democracy , which means there are checks and balances, like the electoral college and Bill of rights as we democratically elect or representatives.

It the Democrats get their way we will remain a republic, but not a democracy, there will be no king, but a dictatorship. Just like the old USSR which was a republic with a constitution to rival our own, but a corrupt dictatorship none the same. Iran is a republic, but not a democracy, but a theocracy and a dictatorship. North Korea says it is a republic also, but that is hard to believe as the same ruling family has been in power for three generations now, i.e. the Hermit KINGdom.

What you are saying is something like an apple can’t be be a fruit, because an orange is a fruit.

That said I agree with Putin, we no longer have free and fair elections and have become not just a republic, but it must be qualified with the word banana, we are a banana republic.

Democracy is such a vague term that just about anything is a democracy. It’s dumb.

Democracy means free and fair elections, something the Democrats will never tolerate.

Democracy is rule by plutocrats, no matter how it is defined in books.

I get a mental image of that series of commercials featuring Captain Obvious. Still the only people capable of being free are those who read, and read widely. Further limited to a subset with open or even defiantly resistant minds.
This is like women all wanting a man with 6 figure income, 6 foot tall and 6 pack abs. That’s about 1% of the population.

Remembering Will Rogers as the mid-20th Century Alexis de Tocqueville, “Out of every one hundred of you, a couple will learn about it by reading, another handful will learn by watching others, but the rest of you will have to learn not to pee on the electric fence the hard way.”

Most people are not able to learn about it before the shock hits their . . . Even then, they will just look for some other source of direction, a new confident source of direction for their lives. When the system breaks is when it changes, and even a highly unlikely honest election putting Trump back in the White House will change nothing – because the President is not in charge.

Jewish oligarchy is Jewish oligarchy no matter what they call it and regardless of the 1776 mythology they create around it. Tide is turning, may take a minute and likely a fight, but it’s coming.

Democracy is a dumb idea anyhow. Most people are not competent and many have nothing at stake. Plato’s Republic is pretty clear on why democracy is not good for anyone.

Did you not see the name of the book I provided? Ancient Greece had some democratic processes.

It is consistent with natural law and also a strong Executive to prevent oligarchy and cartels. The legislature and judicial would NOT be co equal to the Executive. That is how jews flout majority rule. What they can’t steal at the ballot box they implement via the jewdiciary.

Well, he’s not far wrong. What I find the hardest cheese of all is these official numbskulls demanding ‘respect for position, or office’. That is just an indigestible lump of bovine lactation processed down. Disgrace, unfollowable, putrid, feculent noisome people running things.

democracy practically just means ‘people we [our rulers] like’

Unless it has “people’s” in the name, like N Korea

our elections are fake and gay but Russia has no room to talk
