FAST FOOD PRICES: GOOD NEWS OR BAD NEWS?

“In twentieth-century Old Earth, a fast food chain took dead cow meat, fried it in grease, added carcinogens, wrapped it in petroleum-based foam, and sold nine hundred billion units. Human beings. Go figure.” Dan Simmons

So everyone knows Bidenomics, in conjunction with Jerome Powell’s massive money printing, has resulted in a surge in food, energy and almost all prices. This inflation most certainly hurts the poorest people the most. Where do poor people eat? Fast food joints.

As you can see from the chart below, the top 3 fast food joints have increased their prices astronomically since 2019. Their corporate profits have been solid, as they pass their increased expenses onto the customers, with an up-charge for good measure.

An American Nobody Stares Into Mordor

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

All throughout history stories have been told by those whose insights and experiences had inspired said stories. The bestselling book in the world, the Bible, for example, is full of stories and parables that have influenced generations. Accordingly, bloggers like me and others will often reference such narratives to utilize widely-known and commonly understood history, facts, and details to make our points.  Furthermore, these universal associations can be used as launching pads, so to speak, to expand upon other ideas and perspectives.

In my early teens, I devoured the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien and his “Lords of the Rings” series beginning with “The Hobbit” and followed by “The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Two Towers”, and “The Return of the King”, respectively. I also read “The Silmarillion” which was a precursor to the other books and originating thousands of years before the fictional events of “The Hobbit”.

Over two decades ago, the “Fellowship of the Ring” movies were released in theaters. The original three films (“The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Two Towers”, and “The Return of the King”) were directed by Peter Jackson and are widely considered as cinematic masterpieces today.

Anticancer Properties of Garlic Gain New Support

Via Mercola

Story at-a-glance

  • A study published in Biomedicine and Pharmacotherapy highlights garlic’s novel phytochemicals and how they can help protect against cancer
  • When tumor cells spread in your body, cancer becomes more challenging to treat. Through its compounds, garlic can help block signaling pathways that are needed in cell migration and prevent the spread of tumor cells
  • Another study reveals that garlic can help prevent cancer from relapsing by targeting cancer stem cells (CSCs). These are the cells found within a tumor that can self-renew and turn into more cancer cells
  • The best way to enjoy fresh garlic is to eat it raw — you’ll need to crush or chop the cloves to promote the formation of allicin. Simply compress the clove with a spoon or chop it finely before swallowing

Loved by many for the distinct flavor and aroma it gives to food, garlic is one the most celebrated herbs around the world. It holds a significant place in history, and ancient civilizations valued it for its culinary and medicinal uses. Case in point — garlic was a part of the Ancient Greeks’ military diet, and soldiers were often given garlic before they were sent off to battle.1

Did The Dulles Brothers Seal Our Fate?

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

The “Soviet Threat” which became Washington’s foreign policy mindset was a self-serving creation of Allen and Foster Dulles. The consequences of their creation and its recreation by the US neoconservatives await us unaddressed.

Some years ago I reviewed Stephen Kinzer’s book, The Brothers, an extraordinary account of two men long serving at the top of the US government, Secretary of State John Foster Dulles and CIA Director Allen Dulles. Both were appointed to office by President Eisenhower. Allen Dulles was the Director of the CIA, and John Foster Dulles was the Secretary of State. The interests of the two men’s law firm became in effect the agenda of the government of the United States.

Walmart, Target Unleash Price-Cut Tsunami As Working-Poor Hit Brick-Wall

Via ZeroHedge

Some of the nation’s largest retailers are rolling back prices in response to low-income consumers hitting a proverbial brick wall. These consumers have maxed out credit card debt and drained personal savings to dangerously low levels in the era of failed Bidenomics. This also comes after an underwhelming April retail sales report and several notes from Goldman warning about faltering low-income consumers:

The owner of a gym in New Jersey who shot to national attention after defying COVID-19 restrictions by keeping his gym open has had all charges against him dropped.

Ian Smith, the co-owner of Atilis Gym in Bellmawr, said in a statement on the social media platform X on May 18 that the more than 80 charges against him and the gym’s co-owner Frank Trumbetti have been dropped with prejudice, meaning they cannot be revisited or refiled.

A “State of Devolution”

Guest Post by Eric Peters

What are styled “conspiracy theories” are often compelling because they seem at least plausible – and when you combine that with the hope that they might be factual you have what is styled a “state of devolution.”

DOJ Authorizes Postal Workers To Use Deadly Force On Trump When Delivering His Mail

Via The Babylon Bee

U.S. — Unsealed documents from the Department of Justice reveal that postal workers were formally authorized to use deadly force while delivering mail to Mar-a-Lago.

“This is standard procedure,” confirmed Attorney General Merrick Garland. “We are in no way secretly targeting Donald Trump. We are merely authorizing mail carriers to fire on Donald Trump if he shows up to collect his mail. This is for the safety of our postal workers and is nothing out of the ordinary.”

Doug Casey on How Artificial Intelligence Will Radically Transform the World

Via International Man

International Man: Amazing new technologies—once the realm of science fiction—are now an imminent reality.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most critical areas where this is happening.

What is your take on AI advancements, and how do you see it evolving in the future?

Doug Casey: AI is going to be huge. No, strike that gross understatement—it’s already huge. It will change everything. There’s no question the abilities of technology are increasing exponentially, at the rate of Moore’s Law. In other words, computing power is still doubling roughly every 18 to 24 months while the cost halves. This is also true in the areas of biotech, nanotech, robotics, 3D printing, and genetic engineering. These technologies are going to fundamentally transform the very nature of life itself. AI will accelerate their progress by an order of magnitude.

Founding Fathers Quotes on Government, Democracy, and Placing Power in the People

The views of the Founders on the subject of democracy are complicated and difficult to articulate in sound bites. On the one hand, the Founders championed seating power in the people of the nation rather than an aristocracy or a monarch. On the other hand, they all feared the power of King Mob and the tyranny of the majority over a minority. To that end, the Constitution is filled with a number of measures that prevent the majoritarian rule of simple democracy.

The government was never seen by the Founders as a provider of anything but a very generalized common security. Laws were seen as more important than men. At best, the government was seen as a necessary evil to allow for the continued functioning of a peaceful society. Those who sought power through the government, rather than seeking to serve their countrymen, were implicitly distrusted.

Media: Gen Z is Doomed

Guest Post by

Years after the fact, the mainstream media is discovering that Gen Z is doomed. As CNN puts it, Gen Z is “earning less, has more debt, and higher delinquency rates than Millennials did at their age.”

In short, the pandemic did a number on Gen Z, followed by a wallop from Bidenflation, lagging wages, and now a looming recession.

How are they surviving? Debt.

A new study from Transunion finds that, since 2013, average debt balances for those aged 22 to 24 has risen by 40%, including a 14% rise in auto loans and a 26% rise in credit card debt.

For those with a mortgage — which is a vanishingly low percent of Gen Z — the average mortgage debt is up by nearly half to $215,000 — quite a bit of debt at 24.

From COVID-19 to Campus Protests: How the Police State Muzzles Free Speech

Guest Post by John W. Whitehead

“Politicians of both parties want to use the power of government to silence their foes. Some in the university community seek to drive it from their campuses. And an entire generation of Americans is being taught that free speech should be curtailed as soon as it makes someone else feel uncomfortable.”—William Ruger, “Free Speech Is Central to Our Dignity as Humans

The police state does not want citizens who know their rights.

Nor does the police state want citizens prepared to exercise those rights.

This year’s graduates are a prime example of this master class in compliance. Their time in college has been set against a backdrop of crackdowns, lockdowns and permacrises ranging from the government’s authoritarian COVID-19 tactics to its more recent militant response to campus protests.

Zelensky wants NATO to shoot down Russian missiles

Via RT

The Ukrainian leader is baffled as to why his sponsors will not become directly involved

The US and its allies should shoot down Russian missiles, give Ukraine more weapons, and allow Kiev to strike Russia directly, Vladimir Zelensky has told the New York Times.

Zelensky spoke to the US outlet in Kiev on the last official day of his presidential term. He has sought to extend his term for the duration of martial law, which he declared due to the conflict with Russia. He demanded that NATO countries shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine.
