POPULAR VOTE REALITY CHECK
I’ve been listening to the left wingnuts crying foul because Crooked Hillary won the popular vote. They evidently fell asleep during their American government class in high school. The reason there are two senators per state and an electoral college is to keep the large powerful states from wielding too much power in governing the nation.
It seems left wing nutjobs seem to be drawn together into 6 liberal enclaves. You may notice the professional violent Soros protestors do their best work in these states. Republican voters in these states know their vote is worthless, because there are far too many irrational, mathematically challenged snowflakes to overcome. So, many don’t even bother to vote.
Clinton won the popular vote by about 630,000. Jabba the Hutt (aka Michael Moore) and the diverse left wing shrews on MSNBC and CNN are outraged that white deplorables stole the election from their little crook. A little perspective reveals a different picture. You back out the popular vote margin in those six socialist states and Trump wins the popular vote by over 6 million votes. The Hollywood and NYC elites, along with their Hilbots, think the votes of six states should override the overwhelming landslide achieved by Trump in the other 44 states.

Bleary-eyed from the 16+ hour flight from Asia, I checked my phone last night once the plane landed to find that riots have broken out across the Land of the Free.
It was enough to wake me from my jet lag.
All the televisions in the airport terminal were showing footage of the chaos along with occasional interviews with some of the protestors.
Naturally there was outcry against racism, sexism, violence, and all the usual anti-Trump arguments.
(Which I found ironic given this video of a Trump voter being viciously beaten in Chicago.)
But one of the recurring themes from these protestors being interviewed, primarily young people, was that Trump wasn’t going to do anything about student debt.

It tells you that someone just dropped a cognitive dissonance cluster bomb on the public. Heads exploded. Cognitive dissonance set in. Weird theories came out. This is the cleanest and clearest example of cognitive dissonance you will ever see. Remember it.

Tsunami Warning Issued After Powerful 7.8-Magnitude Quake Strikes New Zealand

A major earthquake whose, initial reported magnitude of M7.5 was initially lowered to M6.6, only to rise up to M7.8 in the latest USGS estimate, struck central New Zealand northeast of Christchurch just after midnight, or 12:02am local time on Monday, (1102 GMT Sunday), the U.S. Geological Survey said, generating a tsunami that hit the northeast coast of the South Island.
The quake – which had a shallow depth of just 10km like the recent destructive earthquakes to strike Italy – was centered centered 46km from the town of Amberley with about 2,000 people, and 70km from the town of Kaiapoi with 10,000 residents, according to the USGS. It was felt throughout most of the country.
The quake took place 91km from the town of Christchurch which was struck by a powerful earthquake back in 2011. At least 185 people were killed and hundreds injured after the 6.3 magnitude quake hit the town. The quake shook the captial city Wellington, where sirens were heard.

If there’s one aspect of this past election that deserves some deep introspection it isn’t how so many pollsters and media personalities “got it wrong”. That may be the fallback position of a badly demoralized opponent, but it isn’t the truth and it isn’t going to lead anyone to a better understanding of why they are where they are a week after their defeat at the polls.
A lot of folks have weighed in on this and I have held off on adding my two cents for several reasons, not the least of which being my hesitation to rub salt in the wounds. Besides, schadenfreude is a dish best served cold. There are plenty of people in my circle of family and associates who threw in with the losing camp and I don’t wish to make their loss any more painful to endure. They have enough to deal with in the next eight years of living under a government they will likely despise.

The blowback from the world’s latest strike in the war on cash is unraveling fast in India. This week’s decision by PM Modi to ban some high-denomination banknotes (on the premise of fighting corruption) has left “chaos everywhere” according to one official who accused the prmeier of wreaking havoc on the poorest Indians. As Reuters reports, nearly half of India’s 202,000 ATMs were shut on Friday and those that operated quickly ran out of the new notes as scores of people descended upon them.
