Why Trump Must Not Apologize
Guest Post by Patrick J.Buchanan
“Never retreat. Never explain. Get it done and let them howl.”
Donald Trump has internalized the maxim Benjamin Jowett gave to his students at Balliol who would soon be running the empire.
And in rejecting demands that he apologize for his remarks about the La Raza judge presiding over the class-action suit against Trump University, the Donald is instinctively correct
Assume, as we must, that Trump believes what he said.
Why, then, should he apologize for speaking the truth, as he sees it?
To do so would be to submit to extortion, to recant, to confess to a sin he does not believe he committed. It would be to capitulate to pressure, to tell a lie to stop the beating, to grovel before the Inquisition of Political Correctness.
Philadelphia’s Soda Tax Is About Raising Revenue, Not Public Health
New York Times health reporter Margot Sanger-Katz, who has cheer-leaded for increased taxes on soda for some time, published an article yesterday in praise of Philadelphia’s “novel strategy” to promote its proposed (and likely to pass) measure increasing the price of sweetened drinks by one-and-a-half cents per ounce.
The game-changing strategy to sell a regressive tax that will disproportionately hit the pockets of the poor, as well as grant even more power to the government to regulate the personal choices of private citizens? Framing it as a revenue source, rather than as a do-gooder health measure.
While it is true that there is an obesity crisis in this country and high-calorie and sugary drinks certainly do play their part in expanding American waistlines (though that part is frequently overstated), like so many Nanny State initiatives, Philadelphia’s proposed tax is confusingly inconsistent right out of the gate.

ANOTHER EBT FAILURE?
Definitely a reference to the chick trashing the store the other day. In fact, it is likely related. It’s odd that if this is in fact the case that it is not getting more MSM coverage….
Anyway, here is the referenced article:
EBT Card Outage?: It Is 8 Days Into June And Many Americans Are STILL Waiting For Food Stamp Money
Widespread reports continue to pour in from all over the nation of “glitches” with the food stamp system. It is eight days into the month and large numbers of people still have not received their benefits, and in other instances it is being reported that EBT cards are simply not working correctly. So what in the world is going on here? Ondowndetector.com there are scores of reports of problems with the EBT system from people all over the nation. Could this simply be another example of government incompetence, or is something else at work here?

Feminism On College Campuses is a Cancer
I stumbled across Bearing a few days ago and his videos crack me up (especially the ones where he rips morons doing Tedx talks).
The reality is summed up well in his description, they want to act like toddlers and have tantrums but be considered adults and equals; well fuck that noise.
The description of the video:
Feminists have become so accustom to getting their own way that it has become absolutely unacceptable to have an opinion that differs from the feminist consensus. They will literally kick, scream and throw about anything within arms length if you do not conform.
It’s like dealing with a cranky toddler throwing a tantrum .. but with one key difference – we’re supposed to treat these fucking babies like adults – we’re supposed to see them as our equals – we’re even supposed go out of our way to strive for their un obtainable Marxist equality of outcome.
And all the while, these cancerous feminists are under no obligation to act in kind to everyone else – they’re not even under any obligation to act like civilized people.

Taxpayers May Be Paying Half A Billion A Year For Fake Obamaphones
Guest Post by Thomas Phippen
Taxpayers may be paying half a billion dollars a year in fraudulent cell phone subsidies, according to a letter sent Wednesday by a senior Federal Communications Commission official.
Ajit Pai, the senior Republican commissioner at the FCC, says there may be as many as 4.2 million duplicate recipients of Lifeline Assistance subsidies, also known as the “Obamaphone” program. (RELATED: Dems Prepare To Ram ‘Obamaphone’ Expansion Through FCC)
In a letter to chief executive of Universal Services Administrative Company (USAC), Pai requests an audit of how carrier sub-contractors vet the applications for new subsidies. In the letter, first published by The Hill, Pai says that cell phone carriers may have bypassed a safeguard designed to prevent fraudulent claims.
The National Lifeline Assistance Database (NLAD) tracks recipients, allowing the USAC to limits payouts to one subsidy per household. The USAC has a exception, however, for families living as “Independent Economic Households” in group homes or homeless shelters.
“Unfortunately, this well-natured exception to the override process appears to be undermining the one-per-household rule,” Pai said.
Analysis of the data from NLAD reveals the “alarming” fact that 4,291,647 accounts, more 34.5 percent of all enrollees in the Lifeline program between October 2014 and April 2015 enrolled through the loophole.
“That’s more people than live in the state of Oregon,” Pai said.
Two years ago, the FCC discovered over 32,000 false accounts were receiving subsidies through carrier Total Call Mobile, signed up under duplicate addresses with fake social security numbers, leading to the creation of the NLAD.

In Search of Something Good – with Detours
After Fred’s post (below – don’t miss it), I thought we needed a lighter post, so here it is. It’s just a little rant about sorry telephone service coupled with a bit of a small hint of advise at the end.. Suffer through the bitch and try the suggestions.
I find that my sweetie and I are learning that the older we get, the less we eat out. In fact, we find we are eating less in general – although we insure a proper – fresh if possible – meal. I find I am enjoying cooking more too – surprise!
I also made our TV service (DTV) shrink except for the local channels that include PBS (My sweetie has a thing for Masterpiece Theater!).
Next I will drop the subscription to the Orlando Sentinel (our regional paper) because it is 95% worthless, leaving only our local rag to clutter the driveway in the mornings. Truly neither one is worth subscribing to as they are slowly turning into a “penny saver” publication with 20 times as many ad inches as “news”. (As a note: NONE of the news items linked in Fred’s article showed up on National News (at least that I saw and in neither of our “newspapers”!)
Notley’s War on Alberta – How to Destroy Your Producers
Are governments truly so clueless as to how modern businesses operate? How slim and fragile the margins are for producers, small and medium size businesses and the like are? Can anyone be this completely clueless? Is it simply malicious? Is it corruption and cronyism? Who benefits and who loses? You be the judge.
Wildrose MLA Nathan Cooper tried to have natural gas used in commercial greenhouses exempted from the NDP’s carbon tax.
This was a smart amendment. We know that purple fuel used by farmers will be exempt from the carbon tax but what about greenhouse producers who use natural gas to heat their greenhouses earlier in the season or late into the fall? This is Alberta. We have a short growing season and the best way for greenhouse producers to offset that unfortunate fact is the use of clean burning natural gas. Cooper’s amendment sought to level the playing field between different types of agricultural producers in Alberta.

Whither the Shards of America?: It’s Us, or Them
From the sewers they come. Anti-Trump animalia beating a supporter of Trump in San Jose. They have done the same to Sanders. Anti-Trump is legitimate. Beating up his supporters is not. Us or them.
From the Drudge Report, America’s thermometer, regarding the disruption a campaign rally for Trump:
‘NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN AMERICA’…
TRUMP CAMPAIGNERS CHASED DOWN LIKE PREY…
SAN JOSE MAYOR JUSTIFIES VIOLENCE…
VIDEO: FEMALE PELTED WITH HUEVOS…
MEXICAN FLAGS RAISED AS AMERICAN FLAG BURNS…
Enough. This can’t last. If people want to demonstrate against anything at all, fine. If they detest any politician at all, fine. If they are vulgar subliterate rabble, let them be vulgar subliterate rabble where I am not. But when they run wild over and over and shut down politics, they need to be stopped, right now, with nightsticks and dogs and long jail sentences.
A country that allows a feral underclass to run unchecked, to attack and beat anyone it doesn’t like, to loot and burn and disrupt political rallies, to block highways and intimidate the citizenry, will not last. It is time to put an end to it. If we still can.
Look at them. They are the muck at the bottom of the national drains, stupid, half-educated at best, without regard for notions of law or democracy. Many couldn’t spell democracy. They need to be stopped, hard.
