Actions Have Consequences

Submitted by Hardscrabble Farmer

Pretty smooth police work by the officer. Calm, restrained, and enforcing the law without any hint of malice or favoritism.

The law is the law and theft is a violation of the law. The way that reality on the young lady was equally fascinating. Her feelings, her perceptions trumped those of the protestors and were therefore a justification for breaking the law. It never dawned on her that other human beings have equal rights and would be protected by the laws if it was antithetical to her beliefs.

Motherhood Abandoned Part 2: The Fallout

“Now she’s feeling more alone than she ever has before.” Ben Folds

Read Part One

The next day, I stuffed all of those feelings deep down inside and went on with life as if nothing ever happened. Many of us are very good at emotionally numbing ourselves so that we can appear to function normally after dealing with this kind of trauma. We just keep on keeping on. It’s really not that easy, though. The impact this has on us both physically and emotionally is great. The scientific community likes to pretend that there is no impact. One small study of about 800 women comparing PTSD symptoms between women who obtained an abortion with women who were unable to obtain an abortion found no difference in PTSD symptoms.  It did admit that:

“This study has some limitations. Findings from this study are limited to symptoms of PTSD. Without clinical diagnosis, we were unable to assess whether women went on to develop full PTSD. Furthermore, we were unable to precisely identify the source of women’s trauma. In-depth qualitative interviews about women’s lives would have been better able to explore the coexisting stresses and complex life experiences that may have contributing to symptoms of PTSD.”

Motherhood Abandoned – Part 1 The Lies

Guest Post by Mary Christine

“Two go in, one leaves dead, the other one leaves wounded” Anonymous

Time after time, the reason you will be given by virtually every woman who had an abortion is “I had no choice”. Few subjects will invite the kind emotional responses that this one will. It is my contention that abortion is the root from where all the other hot button issues spring forth. Because when we allowed the legalized killing of the unborn, those least able to defend themselves, we opened the door to all the other hot button issues we are dealing with now. Guns, vaccines, LGBT, particularly the transgender issue whereby we are now dealing with misinformation, gas lighting, and outright lies. When it was seen that those tactics were so successful with abortion, the Enemy did not need to invent new tactics if the old ones worked so well. As if that were not enough, some states have legalized abortion up to the time of birth and are considering “post-birth abortion” or infanticide as a legal option.

I have been on both sides of this issue in my lifetime. On April 2, 2019, a post by Doug “Uncola” Lynn about the movie Unplanned generated 300 comments. The movie recounts the experiences of Abby Johnson, a former clinic director for Planned Parenthood.  She does not leave out the fact that she had two abortions, one medical and one chemical. She also admits that she stuffed all of her feelings about her abortions deep down in her soul, so that she could go on with her life as she had planned. I know the tactic she used on herself because I used the same tactic to allow myself to pretend that it hadn’t changed me. I was a young high school student, not a college student as she had been. At age 16, with no counseling whatsoever, I decided the best thing for me to do was kill my child(ren). I put that in parenthesis because there is reason to believe I was pregnant with twins.

Nation Actually Kinda Proud Of Liberals For Finally Being Honest About Their Position On Abortion

Via The Babylon Bee

U.S.—After Alabama state representative John Rogers made horrific comments on abortion, the nation admitted it was actually sort of proud of Democrats for finally being honest about their position on abortion.

Five Insights Gleaned From The Movie “Unplanned”

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

Over the weekend, I was where I needed to pass some time and thought an early afternoon matinee would do the trick. Although I was not overly enthused to see any of the films currently showing, I chose to see Unplanned.  Mainly because the title seemed apropos just then and the movie’s starting time fit my schedule. Moreover, it looked to be a political film about the controversial subject of abortion and was, in fact, based on a true story.

The tale told of the life and times of Abby Johnson, a headstrong young lady from Texas who became one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the United States. She resigned in 2009 after seeing a fetus at 13 weeks gestation recoil in pain during an ultrasound-guided vacuum aspiration abortion.

The film portrayed the abortion industry, as exactly that, an industry whereby Planned Parenthood profited most from procedures terminating pregnancies; even to the point of demanding quotas from its clinics. Furthermore, distinct and contrasting parallels were drawn between those who believed they were advocating on behalf of women’s rights with those who believed life began at conception.

Postludes & Preludes: The Show Goes On

Due to another commitment, this blogger missed Trump’s live State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. But in watching the pundits on both sides of the aisle afterwards, highlights from the speech, as well as the instant poll results – it immediately appeared to have been an overall win for the president.

According to polls by CBS and CNN, 76% of viewers approved of the speech, with 72% appreciating Trump’s ideas on immigration, and even those in the media were “stunned by the State of the Union’s appeal to both sides”.

Although the president did take further ownership of the economy, he also attempted to insulate himself against future financial woes and conflicts at home and abroad when he said:

New Law Allows Parents To Abort Non-Viable Millennials

Via The Babylon Bee

RICHMOND, VA—A new law proposed by representatives in the Virginia state legislature would allow parents to abort their non-viable millennial children.

“Any child who’s 30 years old and still living with their parents is obviously a non-viable life form, and that’s between the parents and their doctor to discuss options,” said one representative defending the bill in the assembly. “The millennial can be kept comfortable in the basement while the mother decides if she wants to keep them. But that’s between her and her doctor.”

Demon Lord Clearly Visible In New York Senate Chamber Applauding Legalization Of Abortion Until Moment Of Birth

Via The Babylon Bee

ALBANY, NY—As the New York State Senate voted to legalize abortion until the moment of birth, remove legal protections for late-term unborn babies, and allow anyone with a pulse to perform abortion procedures, witnesses claim a demon lord was clearly visible in the gallery cheering on the

“This dude in a dark cloak appeared in a flash of fire and started cackling and stuff,” said one woman who also applauded the decision. “We thought maybe we should call security, but then we saw he was cheering right along with us, so we decided that he can’t be all that bad.”

Allow Americans to ‘Opt Out’ of Abortion and War

Guest Post by Ron Paul

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently released proposed rules allowing individuals to opt out of Obamacare’s abortion and contraception mandates for moral or religious reasons. These new rules should be cheered by all who agree with Thomas Jefferson that forcing people to subsidize that which they find abhorrent is “sinful and tyrannical.”

Somewhere Eichmann Smiles

Guest Post by The Zman

When I was a teenager, abortion was one of the big issues in politics and social policy. Bill Buckley used to say it was one of three issues that told you everything about a man’s politics. It turns out he was wrong about that, as so many of his tribe were pro-life for effect, as a part of the Frank Meyer “fusionism” strategy. Putting that aside, for normal people, abortion was the issue that defined you politically. Liberals were pro-abortion and non-liberals were pro-life. The latter emphasized the sanctity and uniqueness of each life while the former rejected that entirely.

Will Congress Stop Forcing Pro-Life Americans to Subsidize Abortion?

undefined
Last month marked 44 years since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision declaring a constitutional right to abortion. Roe remains one of the Supreme Court’s most controversial decisions. Even some progressive legal theorists who favor legalized abortion have criticized Roe for judicial overreach and faulty reasoning.
Throughout my medical and political careers, I have opposed abortion. I believe abortion is the killing of an innocent human life and, thus, violates the non-aggression principle that is the basis of libertarianism.
Unfortunately many libertarians, including some of my close allies, support legalized abortion. These pro-abortion libertarians make a serious philosophical error that undermines the libertarian cause. If the least accountable branch of government can unilaterally deny protection of the right to life to an entire class of persons, then none of our rights are safe.
