Via History.com

On October 18, 1867, the U.S. formally takes possession of Alaska after purchasing the territory from Russia for $7.2 million, or less than two cents an acre. Magnitude 7.9 quake off Alaska prompts tsunami warning

Via MSN

ANCHORAGE, Jan 23 – A magnitude 7.9 earthquake hit the Gulf of Alaska in the early hours of Tuesday, prompting warnings of a possible tsunami down the Canadian and U.S. west coast and as far away as Hawaii.

Local radio on the Alaskan island of Kodiak, close to the epicenter, urged listeners to move away from coastal areas.

“This is a tsunami warning. this is not a drill. Please get out to higher ground,” said the announcer on KMXT public radio. “If you are on the flats, get up on one of the hills … Just go high.”

THIS DAY IN HISTORY – Alaskan earthquake triggers massive tsunami – 1946

Via History.com

On this day in 1946, an undersea earthquake off the Alaskan coast triggers a massive tsunami that kills 159 people in Hawaii.

In the middle of the night, 13,000 feet beneath the ocean surface, a 7.4-magnitude tremor was recorded in the North Pacific. (The nearest land was Unimak Island, part of the Aleutian chain.) The quake triggered devastating tidal waves throughout the Pacific, particularly in Hawaii.

A flood of controversy has stirred over in the Alaska high school women’s track and field community over the last week. After smoking girls and leaving her female competition in the dust throughout the season, a male-to-female transgender student received all-state honors. Senior Nattaphon “Ice” Wangyot from Haines High School finished 5th in the 100 meter dash and 3rd in the 200 meter dash during the state championship meet.

From Breitbart:

“I don’t know what’s politically correct to say, but in my opinion your gender is what you’re born with” said Peyton Young, another competitor at the meet, in a comment to Alaska Dispatch News. “It’s the DNA. Genetically a guy has more muscle mass than a girl, and if he’s racing against a girl, he may have an advantage.”

Sounds like someone’s just a little butthurt over losing. Sure, it’s a fact that she may genetically be leaner, more muscular, and prone to be overall faster, but pointing that out makes you an ignorant asshole in society’s eyes. Get with the times. Plus she’s also still got a hangdown in those shorts. Seems like that could be a bit of an aerodynamic disadvantage. I mean, she did lose to six other chicks after all. I can’t stress that enough. She lost. To a half dozen girls. So maybe be a little more tolerant of other people’s life choices and step your game up, Peyton.

In all seriousness, I can’t wait for more people to expose this ridiculous loophole and have no one call them out for it in fear of being called a bigot. Having trouble making the JV basketball squad? Become Juwanna Mann, identify as a broad, and become the leading scorer on women’s varsity.

This is where we’re at, guys. There’s no putting that toothpaste back in the tube.

WHY IS MSM COVERING UP SANDERS’ LANDSLIDE VICTORIES?

Has there ever been more proof the liberal MSM is completely in the bag for Hillary Clinton? Sanders absolutely crushed Queen Hillary in Washington, Alaska and Hawaii. They weren’t just victories. They were landslides. Bernie got 76% of the vote in Washington, 79% of the vote in Alaska, and 70% of the vote in Hawaii. And still the liberal MSM blathers about how popular Clinton is. They concentrate on how she will crush Trump. If she is getting her fat ass handed to her by a decrepit old socialist in her own primaries, why does anyone think she would win a landslide victory in November. Democrats don’t like her and Republicans despise her. She bought off the 400 super delegates in the utterly corrupt Democratic method of selecting a candidate. The voters have not selected Cankles Clinton.

The theory of 65-year cycles points to a critical moment in China’s evolution

BEIJING, CHINA - SEPTEMBER 03: Chinese soldiers march in formation passed Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City during a military parade on September 3, 2015 in Beijing, China. Five Chinese navy ships are currently operating in the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, marking the first time the U.S. military has seen them in the area. Why the sudden interest?

Because the Chinese have been studying the cycles. From generational theorists William Strauss and Neil Howe, they have learned that political/cultural cycles last only 65 years, and then they collapse, cycles first observed by Taoist monks and Roman philosophers. And China is exactly 66 years advanced since the Chinese Communist Revolution of 1949. In terms of generational cycles, China is on the eve of destruction. (In terms of the Strauss/Howe theory, so are we.)

GUNS & POT

If you include states that have legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes only, there are now 24 states that permit pot. There are 42 states where an adult non-felon’s right to carry a concealed gun is either unrestricted or subject only to permissive “shall issue” laws. Sixteen states fall into both categories.

If you limit yourself to places that allow marijuana even without a prescription and concealed carry even without a permit, you settle on the freest state in the union – Alaska.

Now we now know the real reason RE lives there.
