The Insanity of the West Accelerates

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

The New York Times reports that Biden is going to forestall Russian aggression against Ukraine by deploying between 1,000 and 5,000 US troops on Russia’s border and is prepared to increase the number of troops tenfold to 10,000 to 50,000 soldiers. A Russian army would eat this small number for a snack in 5 minutes. Clearly the purpose of the deployment is not military. The purpose is to heighten the “Russian threat” in the minds of the people in advance of a false flag event that will be blamed on the Kremlin.

Is Democracy Versus Autocracy the New Cold War?

Guest Post by Pat Buchanan

Is Democracy Versus Autocracy the New Cold War?

Are we really in an ideological war with Vladimir Putin’s Russia today, as we were during the Cold War with Stalin’s USSR?

“He may be an SOB, but he’s our SOB.”

So said President Franklin D. Roosevelt of Nicaraguan dictator Anastasio Somoza, and how very American. For, from its first days, America has colluded with autocrats when the national interest demanded it.

George Washington danced a jig in 1778 when he learned that our diplomats had effected an alliance with France’s King Louis XVI. The alliance, he knew, would be indispensable to an American victory.

In April 1917, the U.S. went to war “to make the world safe for democracy” in collusion with four of the world greatest empires: the British, French, Russian and Japanese. All four annexed new colonial lands and peoples from the victory for democracy we were decisive in winning.

The Endless War With Russia

Guest Post by The Zman

Without formally announcing it and for reasons no one has bothered to explain, the American empire has declared war on Russia. That is the clear message the Biden administration is sending with the new round of sanctions. They have also kicked out some Russian diplomats. More importantly, the US is telling US banks they cannot have any dealings with companies working on Nord Stream 2, the big natural gas pipeline the Russians are building to supply gas to Europe.

The Russians Did It

Guest Post by Paul Craig Roberts

The Obama regime’s National Security Advisor, Susan Rice, the most unqualified person ever to have had that job, told Wolf Blitzer on CNN that the organized  burning and looting violence of the George Floyd protests “is right out of the Russian playbook” —https://www.globalresearch.ca/susan-rice-goes-full-conspiracy-rant-cnn-russians-behind-race-protest-mayhem/5714805

Other nutcases are blaming “foreign adversaries” such as China.  Susan is not going to waste a case on “white racism” that can be blamed on Russia.  It wasn’t Antifa that provided the bricks, it was Putin.

As a person outed by the troll website PropOrNot as a “Russian agent,” I am surprised that I haven’t been  blamed.

NBC News, to Claim Russia Supports Tulsi Gabbard, Relies on Firm Just Caught Fabricating Russia Data for the Democratic Party

Guest Post by Glenn Greenwald

NBC News published a predictably viral story Friday, claiming that “experts who track websites and social media linked to Russia have seen stirrings of a possible campaign of support for Hawaii Democrat Tulsi Gabbard.”

But the whole story was a sham: the only “experts” cited by NBC in support of its key claim was the firm, New Knowledge, that just got caught by the New York Times fabricating Russian troll accounts on behalf of the Democratic Party in the Alabama Senate race to manufacture false accusations that the Kremlin was interfering in that election.
