A Postmortem on Postmodernism

By Doug “Uncola” Lynn via TheBurningPlatform.com

My first article this year was entitled  “The Abolition of Man Amid the Consequences of Reality” and referenced the book “The Abolition of Man” by C.S. Lewis as a means to critique the devastation of postmodernism.

The next article, “Gnostic Parasitism in the Post-Modern Simulacrum”, reviewed the first installment of the “Mere Simulacrity” video series posted at SovereignNations.com  which summarized the conjuring of the postmodern world.

This post will serve as my third installment on postmodernism and summarizing the sixth (6th) video in the “Mere Simulacrity” series called “Breaking the Spell of the Postmodern World”, by writer and researcher Michael Young.

Although the second (2nd) video in the “Mere Simulacrity” series entitled “Hermeneutics and Perspectivalism” , by Dr. William Roach, provided a more comprehensive look at the chain of philosophers that ultimately fathered postmodernism, I chose to review Michael Young’s video because he emphasized three main philosophers, along with other relevant writers, who explain our current times quite effectively, in my opinion.

Finally the Truth Is Revealed

Guest Post by Robert Bronsdon (Hollywood Rob)

We may at last sit back and revel in our prescience for now, after many years of conjecture and ridicule, we find that indeed there is a reason for those chemical trails so obvious to everyone with eyes to see.  All one ever had to do was to look up but that was clearly not something that everyone could do.  But now there is proof beyond any question.

It all started in Africa long ago but has now expanded to encompass the world.  There is nowhere that you can go where you do not see the foul chemicals spewing over our heads and at last it can be revealed that it is so that the blood suckers can come at night and suck your blood.  Thank the good lord that we have Wakanda to thank for without their advanced technology we would never have know that vampires with vibranium stethoscopes are sucking blood from unwitting victims the world over.

Modern Art As Proof Of The Decline Of Western Civilization

See this piece of shit “art” below? It sold recently for almost FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS.  Look at it, and then ponder about what it tells us about society.

Theologian Francis Schaefer wrote an incredibly illuminating book regarding how art reflects the health of society titled; — “How Shall We Then Live”.   From wiki …

“According to Schaeffer, How Should We Then Live traces Western history from Ancient Rome until the time of writing (1976) along three lines: the philosophic, scientific, and religious. He also makes extensive references to art and architecture as a means of showing how these movements reflected changing patterns of thought through time. “

The book came out in 1976. You know what makes it (or, anything) great? When it passes the test of time. Per the bolded quote below, what Mr. Schaefer wrote back then, may be even MORE applicable today!

Who Stole Our Culture?

Hat tip Hardscrabble Farmer

Guest Post by William Lind

Sometime during the last half-century, someone stole our culture. Just 50 years ago, in the 1950s, America was a great place. It was safe. It was decent. Children got good educations in the public schools. Even blue-collar fathers brought home middle-class incomes, so moms could stay home with the kids. Television shows reflected sound, traditional values.

Where did it all go? How did that America become the sleazy, decadent place we live in today – so different that those who grew up prior to the ’60s feel like it’s a foreign country? Did it just “happen”?

It didn’t just “happen.” In fact, a deliberate agenda was followed to steal our culture and leave a new and very different one in its place. The story of how and why is one of the most important parts of our nation’s history – and it is a story almost no one knows. The people behind it wanted it that way.
