ANNE BARNHARDT ECONOMICS 101

Posted on 13th November 2012 by Yojimbo in Economy

Anne Barnhardt rips the economy apart and exposes the massive lies, fraud, corruption and coming collapse of the financial system of the Western World. She is on a tear here in this lecture, and if you have the ability to hear the ring of truth, the truth she is speaking will tear down your walls of denial.

Now I know that many of the financial wizards and cognoscenti on this site will find nothing new here. But many of those laypeople unschooled in finance will benefit from this lecture. This is a must watch video.

Is she a Christian Lunatic? It depends on your point of view. Nevertheless, the truths she is speaking are irrespective of her religious beliefs. And they are massively powerful. I can listen to this endlessly with constant fascination and learn quite a bit, whereas I can’t read more than a few lines of Hussman’s newsletter without my interest falling off a cliff. Thank God Admin translates him succinctly.

I have to agree with her conclusion – knowing the truth is like staring into an abyss of horror. The implications are frightening and profound. I hope you watch.

Unfortunately, I have no hope that the United States can survive what is coming, but I post only because we need to save as many as possible so that we can rebuild. I also know how Cassandra felt, knowing with a certainty what was coming, and not being believed by the friends and strangers she told. But at least on TBP we are on the same page, mostly.

If “nominal interest rates ” go up the economy will implode? However, if the economy implodes nominal interest rates will remain at zero and “real” interest rates go up even if they are at 0%.

My bone to pick with accounting is that the government deficits include nominal interest payments on outstanding debt including government agencies. But the subsequent devaluation of the government debt is not added back to the deficit.

Barnhart is, as usual, on the money.

However, this woman is never going to be taken seriously because of her general lunacy and her obvious psychological problems. Why is this virulently anti-woman she-male dressed like a man? I mean, even lesbians I know don’t go around dressed this butch.

  8. Hope@ZeroKelvin says:

Ann wears a tie because she believes that it represents the Cross and a reverence for Jesus Christ. As you know, she takes her Catholicism very seriously.

    Here’s why she does it:

“Musloids believe that neckties are a symbol used by the infidel idolaters (Catholics) for the Cross of Christ, with the hanging-down part of the tie being the vertical beam of the Cross, and the bit around the neck being the horizontal beam of the Cross.

History says that neckties were first sported by Croatian soldiers during the Thirty Years War in the early 1600s, and that the French loved the look and picked up the trend. I agree. Neckties are awesome, and I wear them frequently – usually in pinks, pastels and florals, and always with a skirt. I wouldn’t want anyone to think I was strange or confused, now would I? Wink.

I really don’t care what the genesis of neckties is. What I care about is the fact that the musloids preach and teach the former. That’s all that matters today. This is why the Iranian nutball Ahmadinejad is always wearing a sportcoat and dress shirt with no tie. This is why the nutty, evil black-Nazi Nation of Islam goons always wear those little bow ties. By not wearing neckties, they are, according to their code, telegraphing their hatred of Christianity, the Cross, and Jesus Christ Himself.

Any time you see a black supremacist, or a muslim, or a muslim sympathizer NOT wearing a necktie when standard convention says they should be wearing a necktie . . . understand and understand well that it is a very thinly-veiled coded message that they STAND WITH ISLAM and reject Christianity and “the white man”. Take it to the bank.

They’re counting on the fact that most people have no clue about the whole necktie thing and that it will all fly over everyone’s heads.

Tee hee. Look at all of the stupid white Christians. I’ll smack them and their white-boy “savior” across the face and they won’t even know that I’ve done it. ”

Don’t be an idiot and miss the message for the messenger. Ann truly believes in what she is doing, to the point she refused to pay income taxes and had $20K confiscated from her bank account. The wearing of a tie is part of her no-holds-barred-balls-to-the-wall-bare-knuckle approach to what she sees as the critical problems facing the world.

I respect and admire her for being so completely honest about it. What you see as lunacy is really a very rare thing – someone willing to put it ALL on the line for what she believes in.

Who among us has such courage? We’ve been conditioned to think that such folks are lunatics, ahh, the programming goes so deep.

I firmly believe that Ann’s assessement of the economy and the threat of radical Islam will be totally vindicated.

I commented yesterday on this in ‘Danger Wil Robinson’ and WOW..glad I did seeing the comments above. Terrific stuff Yojimbo.

    Ann Barnhardt.

Bruce: Thanks for the Ann Barnhardt videos….BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, and BRILLIANT. If you have ever hesitated on Barnhardt, you never will again after viewing this 2 1/2 hour presentation. My God has she found her calling…fastest 2 1/2 hours ever. She does mix in religion but it works and coming from an atheist that says a lot. At the last video (8) when she quotes from St. Peter.. “Quo VADUS, where are you going? I’m going to Rome to be executed”…the tears were streaming down my face…I kid you not…and this a presentation on Global financial destruction. Barnhardt has immense presentation skills that she mixes seamlessly between education, politics, law and faith…truly powerful and clear. I learned a huge amount.

This is a woman of extreme courage who puts her money where her mouth is as you will see if you watch the presentation. When she takes off on an issue like Corzine or Morgan it becomes great theatre. The last video is simply powerful.

I’d classify Ann Barnhardt now as a national treasure. If I was a believer I’d pray for her because she needs it for reasons that are quickly understood. What the hell, I’ll pray for her anyway.

What the hell is wrong with you people …. praising this batshit crazy religious nutjob?

First, the minor point. My very very first reaction to her choice of clothing was, “Wow. She looks just like a Nazi soldier.” … the pressed starched shirt, the pointy collar, the epaulets, … just the whole style in which she presents herself. You can deny it but you’re just fooling yourself.

Now ……. The IMPORTANT points …..

Did you even listen to the videos??? It’s all generic “no shit, Shirley” kind of stuff that she belabors to death.

Did you even listen to the last video??? Did you not listen to her rant at the 5 minute mark? Did you not listen to her smack down of Ron Paul? Did you not listen to her accuse Ron Paul of being in the game just for the money? Did you not listen to her accuse Ron Paul of being an anti-Semite? Did you not listen to her accuse Ron Paul of being pro-Islam. Did you not hear her make fun of Ron Paul’s stance on the gold standard?? Lastly, did you not listen to her saying about RON PAUL; —– “SORRY, YOU’RE DISQUALIFIED YOU BAT SHIT OLD MAN!” ???

Really, what the fuck is wrong with you people?

I never said I agree with everything in the videos; I simply agree with her take on economics and the fraud and coming collapse.

It’s important to hear information coming from various sources, especially when you may disagree with other opinions they have.

I don’t agree with everything Karl Denninger says.
I don’t agree with everything Kunstler says.
I don’t agree with everything Alex Jones says.
I don’t agree with everything Ron Paul says.

In fact, I don’t completely agree with anyone on all facets of the mess we’re in. I don’t agree with Admin on all issues.

But listening to people who speak the truth from many different perspectives allows you to integrate their understandings into a coherent whole.

After all, it’s not really all that complicated if you take the time to educate yourself. It’s only shitheads doing what shitheads do, so think like a shithead and you will understand how we got in the hole we are in.

I did recently withdraw 80% of my cash with Interactive Brokers since playing in the market just seems to suck when you know the future isn’t bright. Not sure what I am going to do next but I most certainly have started adding to my ammo supply. But I do know the cash will not go into any kind of an account. 37,000 went BatShitCrazy and took their own life.

I was on Public Radio and asked if highway safety had anything to do with it. I’m sure it did. I’m sure the use of motor vehicle miles being down did too.

I’m also positive 37,000 is closer to 60,000. Poisoning deaths were up 128 percent in 2009. Poisoning is often what prescription drug overdoses get put down as.

I was wrong on the economy when I thought that Celente’s, “When people lose everything they lose it,” meant pitchforks and torches. It may one day soon, but before that there is a wave of suicides.

Great Depression suicide rates were 22 per 100,000. In this, our Second Great Depression they are at least 10 per 100,000, I suspect higher with poisoning.

I know Ann looks anything from “a little stressed” to coming across like some fucking whack job, but one thing I really admire her for is speaking the fuck up and her screw political correctness.

She is quite knowledgeable and this presentation suggests an ability to both enlighten and persuade an audience less financially literate that the usual suspects of this site – I respect her “active” literary skills and her desire to give.

Her Christian zealotry promises that a certain audience will enthusiastically embrace her message for emotional as much as rational reasons.

IMO it is better that people come to knowledge for calm, cogent reasons and not due to some emotional outpouring of religious chauvinism – but in the end knowledge is preferable to ignorance and she is working towards that end.

But really – if we have to undergo another prophet I would prefer that individual come from something other than the whole “my god is bigger and better than your god” bs.

Ann does differ from some of my other financial mentors in her belief that usury is a virtuous aspect of banking…and I find myself agreeing with her on that.

I don’t really think she has an agenda here except to try to educate regular people about how they’re being used and abused by the out-of-control banks. She does a good job. I haven’t read the Denninger book. I’ll have to look for it.

If she was ever to obtain a position of political power (zero chance), there is zero doubt in my mind that it would signal the return of religious persecutions, even Inquisitions. The idea that good, moral, religious people are routinely seduced and manipulated by psychopaths bent on power and total control is not new.

And some folks like to wear their anti-intellectualism on their sleeves – and IMO the fundamentalist religions are the most prone.

The educational system – along with some religions – have stymied people’s intellectual proclivities. They don’t know what they don’t know and I suspect some of AB’s audience might be a bit intellectually starved.

If – and I grant you it’s a big if – the folks that AB is able to reach actually discover – through subsequent personal research concerning the financial nightmare – the world outside their religion then maybe their preoccupation with life after death and the rules and regulations necessary to achieve a desired outcome within the after-death world – will be seen in a different light.

I just want people to wake the fuck up and IMO, as egregiously self-righteous and over-the-top religious as it was, AB’s presentation has that potential.

    u·su·ry   [yoo-zhuh-ree]

    1. the lending or practice of lending money at an exorbitant interest.

    Origin:
1275–1325; Middle English usurie < Medieval Latin ūsūria (compare Latin ūsūra ), equivalent to Latin ūs ( us ) ( see use) + -ūr ( a ) -ure + -ia -y3

Personally, I don't like the idea of being used by bankers, of all people. Cripes!!!

    But that's just me.

  48. Eddie says:

Usury in its most simple definition is just the charging of interest for the use of money.

I don’t advocate “exorbitant interest” and I don’t think that’s how Barnhardt was using the term. I meant to say that I agree that money has a time value, and that it is reasonable to charge “reasonable interest” for the use of money.

It is the current zero interest rate policies of the Fed, coupled with the deliberate destruction of the buying power of the dollar that make it impossible for regular people to earn enough interest on their savings to stay ahead of inflation.

There are well intentioned people in the currency reform movement who see charging interest as wrong, or even evil. I think Barnhardt is correct in her assumption that it is a necessity for a healthy economy.

She pointed out that it is not leverage itself, but rather unrestrained, poorly collateralized overleverage that causes the problems we have with our TBTF banks. I agree with this.

  49. llpoh says:

Interest is like anything else out there – let supply and demand dictate the rate. It has nothing to do with “reasonable”. If I can get 50% interest per year from good risk borrowers that are willing to pay that amount, then good for me. If I loan to bad risk borrowers at 5% and they default, then bad for me. There will be competition for good risk borrowers, and the rates will go down. Bad risk borrowers will have to pay a major premium (think credit cards, where the default rate is astronomical).

Let the market set the rates – it will find the correct balance. Trying to manipulate rates, or much of anything in commerce for that matter, results in unintended consequence and potential disaster.

  50. Kepi says:

Interest always leads to a problem in that it subverts supply and demand. You don’t need crazy eyes to tell you that. You don’t need the bible to tell you what excess interest is (guess what, it never defines it, but Jesus’s response to the money changers in the temple suggests a zero tollerance prolicy). It’s just logic. Logic dictates systemic lending to the majority is always wrong, not as an abstract moral lesson (I mean, that’s there, too but it’s there because of the following) but because it is not a solution to the problem, which is there is not enough money available. It’s one thing if 10-20% of your population uses lending as a quick fix in dire circumstances (little Timmy’s operation) or to resolve deficiencies in the social structure.

If, though, lending becomes normal as a matter of course for people (for needs or just as a quicker way to get wants) it will lead to an inflation trap and if you don’t print more money to prop up the inflation trap that house of cards will come crashing down on all participants and will make life difficult for non participants as well. I don’t need some nutjob who sees beef futues as a symbolic prayer and prolly gets off by looking at herself in a mirror wearing a strap on while wearing sweat pants. It’s just logic.

And because she grasped one minor piece of logic doesn’t mean she’s also not out there thinking of a way to outlaw Victoria’s Secret “for the children”.

When I started my practice, on a real shoestring budget, I might add, the prime rate was at about 9 percent, and it soon went up to 11 percent . I was borrowing money at prime plus 2 on 180 day notes and I had no guarantee that the bank would roll them over.

But I signed on the line because it was simply what was offered. Take it or leave it.

Greenspan was in his first year. My best recollection is that he set rates wherever he wanted them to be. There has not been any market discovery in interest rates here for a very, very long time.

People trying to start a business will pay whatever they have to pay for borrowed money. The little guy is and probably always has been, to some extent, at the mercy of the bankers. I’ve always hated those sons of bitches, myself.

If by out of sight you mean it extends past the view of the camera, you are correct. Ties are meant to be worn with a jacket, if it extends past the bottom of your jacket, it looks terrible, and usually somewhat indecent to the point of requiring a double take. I went to see Less Than Jake back in the 90′s and I spent less time processing what was going on when they had a guy with a rubber dong flapped out of his zipper on stage than when I’ve seen peekaboo ties. Dress wear isn’t hard, but there are rules (only some of which are meant to be broken, this isn’t one of those).

Also, admin, she’s crazy, but it’s not merely a lack of sex. I dated a girl like this once. It’s the “religious by technechality” type. She’s the girl who, in highschool, would claim never to have masturbated but would have anal sex with just about anyone because she was still *technically* a virgin. She’s the girl who in college would come screaming at you on some random Tuesday because you were wearing a Dimmu Borgir shirt with a pentagram on it and the reason she didn’t recognize you as the guy she gave head to on the Omega Chi house dance floor was because she was so drunk she passed out on the lawn 20 minutes later. She’s that chick.

I kinda like to think of Anne Burkhardt as a modern day Noah (or if you really want to go to the original source,, a modern day Gilgamesh). Those of us who worship our modern day way of living, like, having food every day, feeling safe in our homes, having hot running water, access to electricity whether it be to play a game or keep our milk, soda, butter, etc… cold, ya know, the stuff we’ve become accustomed to having (oh, I forgot flush toilets and a working sewer system and regular trash pickup). Did people think “Noah” was “crazy” for building the arkh? Absolutely! Even his family felt he was a bit “cuckoo for cocoa puffs” but they helped him build the arkh, listened to him, and in doing so, invested their time wisely. We don’t have to love everything she says or even agree with every point. What’s important is we understand the premise, get the word out to those we care about and love, and when (because to me it’s not an “if” it’s a “when”) the US economy truly collapses, it will be those of us who listened and put our money in the best places TODAY (Silver is awfully low right now, and Gold has dropped $200/oz,… it’s been LITERALLY decimated [as in, lost 10%], so it’s a great time right now to buy a good bit more metaphorical wood, for the metaphorical arkh.
