This probably doesn’t deserve a separate post. But I need to vent. And Admin likes me, so he lets me. Also, maybe there’s another lesson here about the sad, sad state of America’s education system.
There’s a new charter high school in the area and they hired MS Freud as school psychologist …. State law requires “x” amount of hours where one must be made available. Ms Freud went there two days a week, 6 hours each day. Today was the last day of school. Ms. Principal fired her (by not renewing the contract for next year). She said she had no choice because there were three complaints by parents against Ms Freud. Here they are;
1) She counseled a rather promiscuous girl to use at least contraceptives to protect herself from possible diseases. The parents complained.
2) One boy constantly started fights. She wrote a letter to the parents requesting / offering one-on-one sessions regarding his bullying … on her own time and AT NO CHARGE! The parents didn’t like that their precious son was labeled as a bully and complained to the principal.
3) One girl simply didn’t like “that white woman”. One day her teacher sent her for counseling. Upon entering the office this girl immediately went into a self-induced frenzy, hyperventilated, threw herself on the ground, and in the process cut her lip. Ms Freud called the school nurse. They sent the girl home. She told her parents that Ms Freud beat her up. Not only did the parent complain, but Ms Principal today informed Ms Freud that the parents intend on filing a lawsuit against her. Nice, eh?
By the way, all three students and their parents are African-American. Is that an important detail? I don’t know.
So there’s the state of education “counseling” today. You better NOT give meaningful, helpful advice. You BETTER make friends with the student. You BETTER be politically correct …. In EVERYTHING. You better live in fear.
Ms Freud wasn’t upset, just pissed off. “Fuck the school system, they don’t deserve me.”, is what she literally said. And I agree 100%. American public education … what a fucking waste of time.

The three “victims” are professional at being victims, and always will be. And in the “new normal” USSA, all these activities are normal, and that’s why their worthless parents got pissed.
There is nothing that can be done about that. They probably thought she was down with being politically correct, since she was a woman and most likely an Obama voter. This shit is getting worse every day. Might I suggest getting a lawyer and suing. You might get some beer money out of it.

when her boss was about to be fired, my ex-wife came up with a huge (butcher paper) scroll listing her boss’ innovations and accomplishments which she presented at the school meeting. the list was so detailed, the scroll was over 20 feet long as i recall. the new superintendent relented and the principal kept her job. the school was predominantly white and the principal was black.
Sue the bastards! Don’t let them get away with it. Drag them into court, and maybe one or all of them might experience some sort of constructive insight.

Considering they are taught from the day they are born that all their problems are somebody else’s fault, it’s not surprising the people that taught them (their parents) blamed Ms. Freud. You can’t argue or reason with these people; when confronted with what they’ve done, they scream racism at the top of their lungs. And our society has institutionalized political correctness to prevent anyone, black, white, brown of yellow from having to take responsibility for their actions. It’s so much easier to blame somebody else for your shortcomings. It’s gotta be somebody else’s fault. And it’s the government’s responsibility to solve all our problems. No wonder we’re in the situation we’re in: fucked.

There are but two kinds of control in this world: Self-control and “others-control.”
While it would appear on its face that “self-control” is the superior choice, only intelligent, self-controlled, responsible and loving parents wish to inculcate it.
Everyone else is profiting (directly or indirectly) by the “others-control” system. From politicians & bureaucrats to the (supposedly) private “corrections” industry (and the medical-industrial-complex), tens of millions of people profit from the lack of control exhibited by a growing majority of people in Western countries.
We have a civilization of savages because it is profitable to enable a Lord of the Flies-style society.
When social mood and the economy roll over and this grand experiment in economic central planning and social engineering falls into a chasm of its authors’ making, the potential for backlash against the FSA, against multiculturalism (AKA cultural Marxism) and against those playing the race card threatens some real, honest chaos in North America.
Lots of those in the 20% paying for all this stupidity are seething, and it won’t take much of a breakdown of the systems on which they depend to send them into the streets for blood.
BTW, the 20% is among the best armed fraction of the populace. Middle-aged white guys practice marksmanship at higher rates than any other demographic subset.
I prefer peace, tranquility and order, which is why I hate those who have promoted the institution of the Welfare State. They have created the precondition for chaos and mass murder to stalk the land where I live.
A good principal would have backed Ms. Freud. At the very least, she should have offered to meet with parent and counselor to discuss the complaints as they occurred.
If there is no legal prohibition on counseling promiscuous girls to use protection, then the onus is on the parents to prove the violation. As far as the lawsuit, everybody in education knows there is a large group of parents who actively anticipate finding something, ANYTHING to sue a school district over. Most threats like this one are just bullshit. The principal should have just thanked the “bully’s” parents,
and invited them to a meeting where the kid’s behavior was thoroughly reviewed.
This seems like a flimsy reason to let a counselor go. Methinks there’s something else afoot with that principal.
I met with my kids Principal and asked him why the teacher never communicates any problems.
Considering they have my email and phone number. His excuse is that this was the teachers last year and basically she didn’t care. Im switching to the small local school that I hear kids complaining about being to hard and strict.
This reminds me about this year’s crop of graduation stories… kids not allowed to get their diploma over extremely stupid “rules.”

True story:
Teacher sends home permission slip so kid can participate in a “celebration pizza party” for doing well with a reading program.
Kid loses permission slip (like every other piece of paper sent home by teacher), and instead of phoning/emailing/sending-a-note, parent of kid wants teacher to “phone her” for permission.
Teacher, who is already PAYING out of pocket for pizzas, figures parent doesn’t give a damn about teacher’s time/effort/etc so kid gets sent to regular lunch (without pizza) with rest of class.
Parents today are quick to back their little angel (who never does anything wrong), quick to blame the teacher, quick to make threats, but hold little Johnny responsible for anything? Don’t hold your breath.
Parents often talk to teacher like their little angel is the only kid for whom teacher is responsible.
“Send a note home daily to tell me about his progress.”
“Email me each day to list his missing assignments.”
“Fill out his assignment notebook because he isn’t doing so and I don’t know what is his homework.”
All of these are actual “requests” (demands) from actual parents. Apparently the other 25 kids in the class can go suck eggs.

my wife’s niece was teaching in compton last year, this year she took a pay cut for the opportunity to teach in burbank where she can avoid getting her laptop or her car stolen by the students as well as getting assaulted and threatened by the same.
i was describing my old high school and the more I thought about it, I concluded our principal was a smart guy to assemble such a wonderful faculty and staff. i agree with Gayle that there is something wrong with the principal.

When schools started needing metal detectors, bars on windows and cops on campus, they ceased being schools and became detention centers.
But they became like that because they were ordered to tolerate the violent antics of a particular demographic group that is protected under Federal law – Blacks.
Instead of allowing schools to permanently expel those who refused to behave in a civilized manner, they were forced to keep them on until they either: dropped out or were put in prison. This turned our schools into hell.
In short if you want to clean up our schools, get rid of Blacks.
Look we’ve tried everything with them and nothing works, there isn’t another ethnic group that has been as coddled and it’s asses kissed as the Blacks. And all we have for the hundreds of billions we’ve thrown at them is a group that hates mainstream society, they don’t like Whites at all and the vast majority have no interest in learning. And they destroy every neighborhood they have control of.
No need for councelors when the president “has your back” you can do whatever and get paid while you do your thing.

it is true her efforts sound a bit quixotic. but she is applying her experience, things I saw myself:
teachers who made an effort to help, advising me to go back to school, to turn a new leaf, to apply to college, to stay away from bad influences…these were different instances, different teachers. do you think they deserved a “thanks for playing”? if mrs. freud touched even one life, it was all worth it, really.
Screw up your life with out-of-wedlock kids, drug addictions, and general lack of responsibility, and you will collect lavish benefits while being permitted to blame everyone else for your problems.
Accept responsibility and do things like practice a learned profession or skilled trade, or open your own small business, and you will be exposed to lawsuits, complaints, and endless harassment and obstruction.

A divorcee I knew in St Louis, a woman struggling to discipline her kids and support them while try to drum some child support out of a deadbeat ex-husband so she could pay for decent daycare while she worked to keep a roof over her kids’ heads and food in their mouths, was threatened with the loss of her children because she “over-disciplined” one in public… but the welfare moms can have 5 by the time they’re 21 years old, raise them in absolute squalor, and be rewarded with Section 8 vouchers for apartments in top tier rentals downtown, cellphones, EBT cards, and counseling and assistance of all sorts.
So, be a perpetual adolescent. Fuck up your life. You will be paid well. But try to better yourself honestly, do a job, and support yourself without being a burden to others, and you will be punished
No surprise here. I saw this thirty years ago. My wife was starting her first year teaching. She came home one day saying she had had enough with, “They is the dumbest people on earth!” I came to the kids defense and told her they are just kids trying to figure out life. She looked at me and said, “I am not talking about the students, I am talking about the other teachers and administrators.” She quit after one year.
Most folks don’t know the majority of educators in America come from the bottom third of there class. The majority attempt to major in a more difficult subject and flunk out. They then switch to Education Major since all that is required to get one is a pulse. If you tell me you are a teacher, I will assume you are dumber than rocks until you prove otherwise.

Ms Freud read these responses and asked me to post a message expressing her gratitude. She was touched by the well wishes and votes of confidence.
I asked her if I could reveal a bit more about her general experience, and she said “yes”.
This is not the first time she’s been “fired” at the end of the school year.
Now lest you think she is a worthless slacker, let me briefly state this; she worked for one school for 24 years before retiring, her private practice gets referrals from lawyers and the court system, and last year she received recognition as the top biller from one of the area’s top hospitals. No slacker, she.
She voluntarily retired from the school. Why? Because of all the rules …. especially the UNSPOKEN ones such as; don’t rock the boat, play it safe, and the most heinous -“coddle, don’t counsel”. In other words, collect your paycheck, play the game, and just shut the fuck up. By the way, this was in a school that was 95% upper middle class Caucasian. She retired for one reason only … she was tired of not being allowed to make a difference. She figured that she would have more leeway being an independent consultant. She figured wrong. The game is rigged, no matter what.
Her plea, which she asked me to relay to you folks with kids in school, is to become actively involved with your kid’s decisions — should they go to college, if so then which college, which classes to take, issues they face at school, etc. — and NOT to leave it solely in the counselor’s hands.
Yes, that’s a lot of responsibility, but they are YOUR kids. Who really has their best interest at heart … you , or a paid government shill more interested in keeping their jobs? Parents need to stop using school personnel as babysitters and surrogate parents. That is not to say there aren’t good counselors out there, because there are. However, good or bad, they are ALL restricted in the good they are ALLOWED to do. YOU are your children’s best hope. Don’t let the opportunity pass by.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I had a friend at university. I did not know at the time he had begun as an engineering student and couldn’t cut the mustard. By the time I met him he was a psychology student. Along toward his senior year, he realized a bacherlor degree in psychology didn’t mean much and couldn’t afford to go on then to master’s. So he switched to education.
As he said, “You can always teach.” Right. And he graduated and ended up teaching where my 10 years younger sister-in-law was a student. A terrible teacher, she said. I think he lasted two years and somewhere along the way, he’d married the daughter of a local cop. (An interesting backstory there I was never willing to probe … ) And then somehow, he went to another uni for graduate school now that he had a working wife to support him. And got five masters degrees. In ferns! WTF.
At this point, he got a position at some midwest uni, and later wrote that he only had to teach one more year and then he wouldn’t have to put up with the little bastards again., he could embark on new ~research~. I lost track of him after that, thank the heavens.
