Edward Snowden: The Biggest Revelations Are Yet to Come

“Is it really terrorism that we’re stopping? I say no,” Snowden said. “The bottom line is that terrorism […] has always been a cover for actions. Terrorism evokes an emotional response.”

“I don’t want to harm my government” he said. “The fact that they’re willing to ignore due process and declare guilt without a trial […] these are things we need to work against as a society.”

“Rights matter because you never know when you’re going to need them,” Snowden said, adding that people should be able to pick up the phone and call their family, send a text to their loved ones and travel by train without worrying about how these events will look to a government years in the future.

“I am living proof that an individual can go head to head with the most powerful intelligence agencies around the world — and win,” Snowden said.

Living proof. I sincerely hope Mr. Snowden can say that 10 years from now. Sincerely.

Intelligence agencies. Those 2 words should not go together. All these alphabet agencies can’t protect anyone from a determined lone terrorist. The NSA listens to every phone call, people used Google maps to figure out what happened in Boston.

Diplomacy, trade for mutual benefit, minding 1s own business, & not fucking with people is how you prevent terrorism.

The US government can’t stop creating terrorists. It’s not good at anything else. It can’t run the economy here, why should anyone listen to it. All it’s good at is pissing away money & pissing people off.

Why are the bigger revelations always to come. Can we just get on with it? Indications are that he took enough shit to publish something daily for years. It’s time to shit or get off the pot.

I_S,

If he did that then the story would soon be over. You don’t think he is dumb do you?

I don’t think he’s dumb at all. He is reputed to have millions of pages of documents. I’m sure some of it is of no real value but come on, put a little REAL heat on a few of TPTB and let’s see ’em dance! Give us something that makes Diane Feinstein rip her hair out in handfuls on live TeeVee.

Yet most people:

1) Still have no idea what’s going on, because they don’t care and aren’t paying attention, or

2) Actually think this stuff helps keep us “safe.”

He would be prudent to get out of Russia first…

Mr. Snowden is an American hero. He’s also a dead man walking. Sad to be two things at once, the first never acknowledged and the second will happen as soon as our freedom loving, liberty preaching, six faced lying Democracy of the USA can arrange it.
