Debate reignited as ‘free range’ kids get picked up by police again
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — Police state or negligent parents? Welcome (back) to the “free range kids” debate.
Earlier this year, two Maryland children stole the national spotlight and ignited heated discussions when their parents were investigated for letting them cruise the streets by themselves. They were about halfway through a mile walk home at the time.
Sunday night, the kids, ages 6 and 10, were picked up again and taken to Montgomery County Child Protective Services, according to published reports. A neighbor apparently called 911 to report the children, who were walking about a third of a mile from their home.
Danielle Meitiv, the mother of the kids, said she had told them to be home by 6:30 p.m., and when they didn’t arrive, she and her husband drove around looking for them.
“The police coerced our children into the back of a patrol car, telling them they would drive them home. They kept the kids trapped there for three hours, without notifying us, before dropping them at the Crisis Center, and holding them there without dinner for another two and a half hours,” Meitiv wrote on her Facebook page. “We finally got home at 11 p.m. and the kids slept in our room because we were all exhausted and terrified.”
Last month, Child Protective Services found that the Meitivs were guilty of “unsubstantiated” child neglect for letting the kids take to the streets in their town without adult supervision. The story sparked a national debate about what constitutes parental neglect.

Thankfully she is removing herself from the genepool, regretfully we aren’t bonusing her to do it permanently.
The “free range” kids, what a crock. NORMAL kids and NORMAL parents a few short years ago.
Now it is “abnormal.”
Marching ever closer to the day the state just stops pretending and rips 2 year old from homes to raise them “right.”
Keep demanding we be protected like a “herd,” then be shocked when we are treated as such.

I can see having an abortion if the father was a sleazebag (poor choice by both) but to have no remorse and take a selfie of your ass in the clinic?
Truly fucked up.

Can you imagine how horrible it would be if these simians didn’t have access to abortion? How many millions more useless POS would be on the .gov tit? It’s ironic that they are strategically fucking themselves by using abortion on an industrial scale while their natural enemies, the Latinos, are breeding like gerbils. But somehow I get no joy out of that fact.

While I appreciate life, love it, sometimes I have to disagree with the crowd that states a woman, who was raped, has to have that child and raise it while the father languishes in prison doing nothing to support it.

We must be islands of calm in the storm.
We must seek like-minded people with whom to gather (literally & figuratively.)
We are SURROUNDED by barbarians, ruled by BARBARIANS, and those people in charge of our courts, of popular culture, etc. are despicable, demonic, depraved deviants who seek to drag us all into the cesspool with them where they wallow.
Be the remnant. Live the remnant. We can’t fix everything around us, it follows its own path and that path unequivocally leads into the Valley of Death (and suffering) in coming years. Our hope is in ourselves, in our loved ones and our families, in our (like-minded) neighbors.
It’s not “every man for himself” yet, but is most assuredly is “every family, every clan for itself.”

TE, kids today are infantilized by our toxic culture that infantilizes their parents, too.
I was 9 years old, sledding with friends in a wooded ravine 1/3 of a mile from home when I stupidly got hit in the face by another kid’s sled. It’s a great scar, probably makes me look like a bad-ass if anyone looks for it. I was otherwise none-the-worse-for-wear.
My kids were shooting real guns under close supervision by the time they were 7 or 8. They were given some responsibility, and they were encouraged to earn our respect for respect-worthy accomplishments.
Funny, they all grew up into successful, self-controlled and neat people who are great coworkers, friends and neighbors to those they encounter.
They are the polar opposite of the subject of this post.
