Democracy eh?

Guest Post by Francis Marion

“You have to live in Truth to be spiritually free. Life in Truth consists of recognizing the Truth and defending it. Truth never changes. It cannot be destroyed by any legal decision or act. Our slavery stems from our surrender to the rule of the lie, our failure to expose it, and to protest against it in everyday life. Instead of exposing the lie we keep silent, or pretend to believe it. A person who tells the Truth is free despite repression, imprisonment, or custody.”

Jerzy Popiełuszko

The election is over. The Liberals are in. I am relieved.

Did I get your attention? Good.

How can I be relieved? For me it is simple. I do not like to live a delusion. I prefer reality to a lie and as much as I have enjoyed more or less being left alone this past decade or so under a ‘conservative’ government the one thing we must always realize is that we have never truly lived in a conservative democracy – or truly a democracy at all. But I’ll get to that shortly.

The idea that we have been living in a conservative democratic nation has at best been a convenient myth. In my life time we have never lived in such a place and conservatism being what it is has rarely been the reality even when present in government. What it has been is a temporary reprieve from the escalating demise of our civilization. It has been a small stroke of luck, a stop over on the road of decay and an illusion – a distraction if you will. It has allowed us to live as though the reality around us was not there and with the thought that all will be well with the next election cycle.

But the truth is our nation is not conservative or even mildly libertarian. It is socialist (at best) politically and narcissistic/nihilist socially. Look how easily the tide has come in. How and why did this happen? Because – you dear reader – should you consider yourself a conservative or freedom loving person of some sort – are vastly and greatly outnumbered. In a nation where 30% to 40% of eligible voters do not vote and where there are at least three viable left wing/progressive parties vying for and splitting said vote it was all simply a matter of time before the right conditions came back into play.

For our Liberal readers (and there are many even among the firearms ‘community’) who would say that the conservatives were no bastion of freedom I would agree. The liberal delusion of course is that things like C-51, the TPP and other issues would not have cropped up and passed under any other government. They would have. And they will remain under the Liberals.

This of course is the myth of our democracy. We pull a lever once every four years and are told that in doing so we are participating in the grand experiment. Unfortunately, the truth is our politicians control very little beyond spending and some domestic policies. Indeed – dear reader – if you truly want to know who is in control all you ever have to ask is to whom do we owe money?

Politicians borrow money to give you what you want. Retirement plans, welfare, socialized medicine, physical infrastructure – everything that we think makes our country a nice place to live. The problem from a political perspective is we end up complaining about the taxes we pay to get what we want so instead of taxing more (which bears political consequences) or reducing spending (which bears political consequences) we simply borrow more. The end result – we borrow so much we cannot pay it back. See Greece and the other pigs in Europe for how that plan works out. Or look south.

Thus bankers and lenders love governments that love to spend. They lend money at interest to give us what we demand and that is good for business and bonuses. Unfortunately, it is not good for us.

This of course should tell you something about our sovereignty and what our democracy truly is. We do not live in a Democracy dear reader – we live in a Corporatocracy. We live in an illusion. We demand free perks and do not think of the consequences because we do not understand how such things are paid for. In failing to understand we have given our power – not only as a nation but as individuals – to those who hold the financial strings. We gave our sovereignty and our democracy away generations ago because we are not responsible. We now idolize ourselves and money over restraint, reason and civics. And the truth? It is but a distant memory – a quaint concept we speak of in passing during intellectual conversations at parties if at all.

The result of course is we end up like Greece. We become debt slaves – disarmed morally, intellectually (thank you Frankfurt School and cultural Marxism) and physically.

Indeed, we have come to the stage in our societies where we value our image and personal financial ‘success’ over virtue of any kind. We are no longer a virtuous people as we have forgotten that the goal of restraint, civics and the debate it entails was truly to keep us civil. Now we simply want what we want when want it because we want it. How childish, how ignorant, how tragic.

Of course we still hold ‘democracy’ in high regard but have forgotten that democracy is an amoral system of governance. It simply reflects who we are as a people thus a society without virtue will be a democracy that is unvirtuous. This is the pitfall of democracy and we are deep within it. Sadly we are blind and cannot see it.

The process of course is reversible but there is no cure all or easy remedy. The solution begins and lies within each one of us. But first you must choose: to remain asleep or to awaken. Things will only change once we awaken – one sleeper at a time.

Your humble servant,

Francis Marion

The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender. Prov 22:7 For God’s sake people, we must demand honest money, bankers, politicians, news etc.

Liberal/Conservative paradigm. Yawn! Geez, I thought people were beyond that propaganda. Look at the charts on who has benefitted economically for the past 30-40 years. It wasn’t those on the bottom, it wasn’t those in the middle, it was those at the very pinnacle. Funny type of socialism that only enriches the wealthiest in a country. Follow the money.. It always works.

Socialist societies in any degree from mildly Marxist to fully Communist are always dominated by a very wealthy elite of rulers.

C-51? I had to look that up. Aha…Canada.

The Mr. and I were scouting for our retirement home
in Fl. no less, when we found a book by James W. Rawles.
He put us on the path to “waking up.” Thank you Mr. R.

The fish rots from the head down. Soon it becomes monkey see,
monkey do. Francis Marion nails it. Truth and ethics out the window
for a free sandwich. Spread the word? People are willfully delusional.
And, they don’t care. Should one attempt a discussion? Well, we
all know how that goes.

Problem is that with the exception of TBP’s and a few other places most people are not. Besides – if you read closely and just slightly between the lines you’ll see that is the message. These pieces are written for our general electorate and published in one of our gunny papers. They have to lead them somewhere and can’t just start from where you guys are.

There is a method to my madness. Kapeesh?

I have two issues, francis. First, the ‘we’ thing. Second, the gibberish at the end. We must awaken. Puts me right back to sleep. You are one of the great minds here. We need solutions, put your mind to that. I agree completely with spreading the word. But it’s not enough

Didn’t I just do that the other day? You all should be bursting at the seams with all your new smarts. Francis is always good, jim. I’m just trying to point little traps it’s easy to fall into as a writer. Style points. I had a professor hammer me in college for exactly that, and even if you disagree with me, I don’t write oatmeal.

starfcker,

I get 500 words to try and educate people who aren’t real familiar with the reality of our political, economic and social conditions. I’m assuming most people who pop by this venue are.

For most – simply opening their eyes is a daunting and important first step.

Mind you – there are moments when I’d like to go all “Stucky” on them but realistically it’s not very conducive to winning new converts.

As for me being one of the great minds here can I get you to put that on paper and mail it to Mrs. Marion? It would be good if she heard it coming from someone other than just me. 🙂

Thus the new term… to go “Stucky” on someone.

Definition:

To rip someone a new asshole purely for the entertainment value.

Someone call Websters…
