On Saturday, a group of armed protesters calling themselves the “Citizens for Constitutional Freedom” took over a federal building in Oregon. The number of these anti-government or “patriot” groups in the United States skyrocketed after Obama was elected to office. Read more in the i100.
SPLC identifies any and all groups that they have philosophical issues with as terrorist and anti government groups.
That includes things like those who oppose abortion or want voter ID laws or promote Christian principles and such (wonder why they don’t want the same requirements for voting as for gun owning, both Constitutional rights).
I actually knew a guy, one I considered middle of the road and not extremist by any means, identified as a hate promoter by the SPLC back during the Clinton administration and his only offense was constantly speaking out against the Clinton political agenda in public. He actually was mentioned in their Klanwatch publication in spite of the fact that he was Jewish and constantly stood openly against white supremacist and other racial hate groups.
Since then I have paid no attention to them as a valid source of information.
Pay no attention to them, and encourage your local and State law enforcement agencies to do the same.

Clicking on the graph takes you to Stastica, however.
And about that graph–the trend is down about 40% in the last 3 years? With recent polls that reflect more distrust of gov lately, I would have thought the trend would be up. Maybe it is but they are “underground” and more anonymous than in the past and hence don’t show up in the stats.
@Anon, agree with your comments about SPLC.
SPLC = Sleezy Pontificating Lying Con-artists.
They are the terrorists.
Check out this speech by a congressman from Oregon, a longtime acquaintance of the Hammonds. It does seem, surprise surprise, that the the MSM has done nothing to illuminate the background or context The five year prison sentence seems to me outrageous.
