Ubi libertas ibi patria…
I wanted to make this post to dispel a myth: the idea that Canadians in general tend to look down their noses at their southern neighbours. This is not true. This attitude is usually one held by our more liberal ‘elite’ who view Americans as a barbarous, ignorant horde when the truth is the ignorant are abundant everywhere including right here at home.
You see the truth is we masses way up North have always viewed America as more than just a good neighbour and a cool place to vacation. Many of us have roots in the US or have family and friends living on both sides of the border and if you doubt the genuine nature of this feeling then you only need to watch this:
So happy 4th of July America. From your family to the North and from all freedom loving peoples around the world: don’t let the flame of liberty die!
Quod in omni vita facimus in aeternum resonat…
Very nice, Francis…
Gotta love those Leaf fans…poor guys were singing the blues when Stamkos decided not to go home…..a Bolt for life it seems….
have a great holiday weekend
@ Francis Marion….Thank you!

Have a great 4th of July. You folks down south try not to drink too many wobbly pops.
cheers
Thanks and back at you, Rob…got my share of wobbly pops covered…looks like your boys are beating up on Chief Wahoo and the Tribe…again…..Enjoy…
Baseball is a weird game. Jays play 19 innings July 1st and score 1 run. Today they plate 17. I’ll take it. Beer taste great when your team is on top.
“This attitude is usually one held by our more liberal ‘elite’ who view Americans as a barbarous, ignorant horde….”
That same attitude was apparent over 200 years ago by the Brits.
Canada is our greatest ally and friend. No other country on Earth comes close to the relationship we have with our northern neighbors. OTOH ……..

Bite me. The victim of that thrashing was my Cleveland Indians. Tread lightly, my friend, lest I may have to recommend you for a terrorist watch list. Heh.
SSS ,I agree . Canada is our ally and friend. Only problem is it’s full of liberals progressives and most think just like American liberals. At least in the big urban areas.
Francis Marion , keeps us posted on your hunting trips. Don’t know anything about hunting goats but it sounds interesting.
Happy Birthday America.
I will never forget you.
May freedom flame in the hearts of the free wherever they may be, forever…

Many thanks, FM. Long may your maple leaves redden!
“I’ve been thinking about you SSS for the past couple days. Fancy that. Here you are. Hope all is well.”

Thank you for that kind remark. I’m well and was “off the grid” for over 3 weeks (vacation to California, Vancouver, and Alaska). Kept in touch via BBC for only one issue – the Brexit vote. Otherwise, it was photos of waterfalls, glaciers, beavers, grizzlies, moose, bald eagles, and Athabasca Indians.
My wife and I are now proud members of the 50/50 club. We’ve been married 50 years and have visited all 50 states – together.
