QUOTE OF THE DAY

“To write the truth as I see it; to defend the weak against the strong; to fight for justice; and to seek, as best I can, to bring healing perspectives to bear on the terrible hates and fears of mankind, in the hope of someday bringing about a world in which men and women will enjoy the differences of the human garden instead of killing each other over them.”

Ugh.

Platitudes like this make my skin crawl.

Hates and fears, like loves and excitements are part of the human experience. They can keep us alive, help us define what is good and evil, lead us to survival in extreme circumstances, tell us of threats to ourselves and our loved ones.

If your real goal in life is to eradicate an aspect of our humanity, then you are the threat.

I.F.Stone was a form of human acid that ate away at the pillars supporting Western Civilization under the guise of “bringing a healing perspective”. He actively fought against all kinds of humans and advanced the idea of “righteous slaughter” of those he opposed. That entire passage is an exercise in rank hypocrisy cradled in saccharine tones of false humility.
