Fifty of the country’s top Republican national security officials have signed a letter saying they do not support their party’s presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

The New York Times first reported the letter, which was signed by people who worked under Republican administrations from Richard Nixon to George W. Bush. Those signing the letter include former Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte, former NSA and CIA Director Michael Hayden and former Homeland Security Security secretaries Michael Chertoff and Tom Ridge.

Trump, the letter writers argue, “would be the most reckless president in American history.”

“None of us will vote for Donald Trump,” they say, though they acknowledge that many Americans have concerns with the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, as well.

According to the letter, Trump has “demonstrated repeatedly that he has little understanding of America’s vital national interests” and “its complex diplomatic challenges. Unlike previous presidents,” they say, “Mr. Trump has shown no interest in educating himself.”

Trump “is unable or unwilling to separate truth from falsehood,” the letter says. “He does not encourage conflicting views. He lacks self-control and acts impetuously. He cannot tolerate personal criticism. He has alarmed our closest allies with his erratic behavior.”

Late Monday afternoon, Trump issued a response to the letter. His statement said that “the names on this letter are the ones the American people should look to for answers on why the world is a mess.”

He called them part of the failed elite who need to be told “their gravy train is over.”

“These insiders – along with Hillary Clinton – are the owners of the disastrous decisions to invade Iraq, allow Americans to die in Benghazi, and they are the ones who allowed the rise of [the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria],” Trump continued.

“Yet despite these failures, they think they are entitled to use their favor-trading to land taxpayer-funded government contracts and speaking fees,” Trump added.

“It’s time we put our foot down and declare that their gravy train is over: No longer will Crooked Hillary Clinton and the other disasters in Washington get rich at our expense.”

The Times notes that some prominent Republican national security officials did not sign the letter, including former secretaries of state Henry Kissinger, George Shultz, James Baker, Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice.

Trump has met with Kissinger and Baker in recent weeks, though neither have endorsed him.

Trump surrogate Dr. Ben Carson, who was a Trump challenger for the GOP nomination, told CNN on Monday that Trump and “a lot of the American people” recognize the letter’s signatories are the very people who have been running things and “have kind of run us into the ditch.”

“If things aren’t moving in the right direction, you analyze it and move into a different direction,” Carson said, adding that establishment members of both parties have been responsible for decades of bad policy that have gotten America into its current condition.

“People must get that through their thick skulls,” he said. “We must understand that our strength is in our unity and resist the urge to capitulate to those agents of the vision who derive their power and their power base from the dividing people into groups.”

The LA Times piece nailed it. The more they are exposed the more irrelevant they become. The people as a whole do not understand exactly what has happened to our country, but they are figuring out that it is bad and they no longer want much to do with the folks that caused it. Trump has managed to tap into this feeling. This election is about the FSA and rose colored glasses utopians on one side versus blue collar and middle class workers tired of being screwed over on the other side.

I personally do not like Trump and do not think he would be a good president in any way, but I do believe his election will shake things up and I am all for disrupting the status quo. Perhaps, by election day, I will come around and actually vote for the him. We’ll see.

Trump has two major obstacles to overcome to win this elections.

1 The Democrats

2 The Republicans

If he is victorious over both of them he will be President, but those are difficult odds to be facing.

Then he has to figure out how to stay alive after he is elected, and that may be the most difficult challenge.

One of my brothers is a retired school teacher/school administrator; his wife is a retired teacher; a first cousin is a retired teacher. They are all registered Democrats, of course. My brother will definitely vote for Trump and his wife may do the same. The 1st cousin is too stupid to do anything different politically than to always pull the Dem. Lever.

I have some worries about Trump. He recently endorsed ShitStain McCain (more war) and Rino Ryan. I understand the political necessity for doing so, but it is a bitter pill to swallow (for mr).

There was no political necessity to endorse either of those assholes. Trump seems to have done so for reasons he’ll probably never reveal. The 2016 election is Trump’s to lose and he’s doing everything in his power to lose it.

This would be a good stand-alone post. It COULD be a correct assessment? However, the author seems to be operating under the premise that the Deep State desires to serve American interests. I tend to believe the Deep State serves at the whim of its Globalist masters.

They all hate him. They fear him. They will likely kill him if becomes to successful. I will vote for him. Right or wrong he seems to care about law and America. I already know that old blonde woman only cares for herself.

I worked in the heart of the national security apparatus for almost 30 years, after military service. The list of “50 national security experts” is a Who’s Who of traitors, careerists and incompetents. The fact that these fools and scoundrels oppose Trump is reason enough to vote for him. These are the cockroaches who scurry from the light. That they have put their names to this vile letter is proof of the fear they have of Trump. If he wins, it is game over for all of them. The most sinister element in this bagful of Creatures from the Black Lagoon are the known Israeli agents, such as Michael Chertoff, Dov Zakheim and Zoellick. These Mossad agents (the first two in particular, along with others in the list) may well have been involved in 9/11 in some way. The gentiles on the list are your usual collection of Washington climbers of the greasy pole. Not one of them should ever hold public office again. This election is it, folks. If these vermin are not fumigated it is all over. Don’t tell me you can’t vote for Trump because of this or that. You have two choices and only two. If we do not stop Hillary war with Russia, China or both is inevitable, and we will be defeated unless it goes nuclear, in which case it won’t matter. Put aside your selfish nonsense and think of your children and your country. The sword is hanging over our heads by a thread.
