i read my first Heinlein in the 7th grade. sometime around 1957. i was working in the library so as to not have to take english. fronting books on the shelf. learned the Dewey decimal system, found SciFi. Starship Troopers. never looked back.

His is one of the most cogent and palatable belief systems I have encountered. Of course that’s just my opinion.

Real liberty doesn’t work for huge portions of the population because it requires an equal measure responsibility. Nothing is more dangerous than someone who wants all the aspects of freedom with none of the consequences. That is the majority.

We are all morally responsible and we will all be held accountable one day. We can have the slate cleaned through belief and trust or we can think we were better than most and won’t be held accountable.

I’ve read everything Heinlein has written. He is by far my favorite author.
