BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENTS EVER

I’m guessing Wentz voted for Trump. I hear Kaepernick gave his offense linemen Castro t-shirts and BLM black armbands.

Eagles quarterback hands out personalized shotguns to teammates as holiday gifts – days after the team cut a player for having a gun

  • Carson Wentz’s Instagram page is littered with pictures of him on various hunts
  • He will hand a gun out to every member of his offensive line as a Christmas gift
  • The custom Silver Pigeon Beretta guns retail at about $2,000 each in stores
  • The Philadelphia Eagles cut wide receiver Josh Huff because of firearms charges

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz got into the festive spirit by buying personalized shotguns for his teammates – just days after a player was cut for having a firearm.

Keen hunter Wentz is understood to have purchased customized Beretta guns, which he will hand out to each member of the offensive line.

The shotguns, which retail at about $2,000, will all be engraved with player’s numbers, despite wide receiver Josh Huff’s departure from the franchise over firearms charges.

The Eagles have made anti-gun messages this year, but one of those in line for a gift, fellow hunter Allen Barbre, told ESPN: ‘This is an awesome gun. I’m excited about it.

‘I don’t know if I’ll shoot it, though. It’s pretty nice.

Teammate Brandon Brooks will also get a Silver Pigeon model, and is looking forward to exchanging his home defense tactical shotgun for his clay pigeon shooting.

The final touches to the gifts are still being finalized, so the quarterback sent out a text with pictures of the custom models.

Wide receiver Josh Huff formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles speaks to reporters back in 2014

Wide receiver Josh Huff formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles speaks to reporters back in 2014

Huff had been with the Eagles three years and linked up with Carson Wentz before his arrest on November 3.

Cops charged him with marijuana and gun charges after pulling him over in New Jersey.

He did not have a licence for the 9mm handgun nor the six hollow-point bullets he had in his possession, according to the New York Post.

Initially the Eagles kept faith as the 25-year-old protested his innocence, saying: ‘I’m a professional athlete. What professional athlete don’t have a gun?’

‘I have a wife and I have a son at home, and my job is to protect them at all costs.

‘My job is to protect myself as well,’ according to the Post.

A day later he was released from his contract.

I’ve been an Eagles fan all my life, but Mr. Wentz gives me further incentive to support the team. Italian shotguns. He connects with the Delaware Valley Zeitgeist, don’t he?

I like the cut of your jib.
Carry on.

Seconded.

Nice to see backbone and common sense are not dead in professional sports.

Plus the Italians build beautiful guns. Which means he has taste as well.

My latest Italian toy for the trap and skeet range:

Benelli Montefeltro Silver Edition. It handles like a well-built sports car. Quick, light and responsive.

Ditto here.

I have 3 friends who went to Argentina last year on a dove hunt who took their new Monteltros along. They fell apart after a few thousand rounds. Needless to say they were a bit disappointed. I was surprised too!

Ya can’t kill the Benelli over/unders.

I can imagine. Long ways to go to have them fail. In a semiauto, the SBE II series is probably a lot hardier and better suited for that kind of shooting. I have about 1500 to 2000 rounds through my Monte and so far so good. I love the way it handles. I am not a big guy so the fit is perfect and recoil is minimal.

The Benelli O/U is a work of art but I can’t seem to handle over unders real well and my score (which isn’t superb already) suffers badly when I try. I had a beautiful little AYA sXs for years in a true sidelock with English style grip that I couldn’t miss with but it beat the crap out of me even with light loads. I’d like another higher end side by side that handles in a similar fashion but up here the new Berettas start at around 7 or 8 k so I don’t think I’d get permission from the war department for that purchase. Maybe one day when the kids are grown and gone…. dare to dream. 🙂

I hear ya about the recoil. For whatever reason I can shoot with a o/u much better probably because of the weight up front. For me it seems to point better. I have an Emilio Rossini with 30′ barrels that I can’t miss with. The ER is top notch and wouldn’t trade it for a Benelli. I fixed the recoil problem by removing the recoil pad then by drilling holes into the stock large enough for small aluminum cigar tubes 1/3 filled with mercury. There are four of them in the stock and it killed the recoil. I’m a fairly big guy at 6′ at 210# and a 400-500 rounds in an afternoon used to beat me up. Not anymore. Even geese loads are much easier.

Lol. At least you didn’t have to try to keep up like when I was 12 and competing admirably with my peers…

With a New Haven 20 gauge pump with a full barrel.

And the one you were chasing ends up on the US Army Marksmanship Unit, coming 3rd at the world juniors international trap in Lima, Peru…

nice enough for this day & age…Go find a vintage 50’s or 60’s Beretta EELL about 1.5 lbs lighter than the new stove pipe models…Kicks like a young mule…unless you load it with 28gram low recoil Winchester reduced load…Still very effective on north woods partridge…& bitching cool…Mike
