So as not to say anything negative about Zeke’s effort, I’ll just say that of all the covers I’ve heard of this song, this is the most recent.

Lyrically, Folsom Prison Blues is one of the greatest songs ever written. If I were teaching a writing class the lyrics would be assigned material. Talk about capturing the despair and loneliness of prison, and in three minutes. While I salute Zeke’s cover as a tribute to this great song, nobody is going to beat the Man In Black’s mournful original.

Gen X’er here too. I haven’t heard “bitchin'” in ages, but the other day my 11 year old son used “rad”, so maybe that’s making a comeback.

Good to see some young people paying tribute to a classic from a master. Nice job by Zeke and his boys.

At least it isn’t rap… or hiphop.
Polished & practiced backup, a toe tapper for sure. The pubescent vocals dont quite sound like the voice of experience. It strikes me like that Bieber twat doing a Tom Waits song… almost.

I prefer Johnny’s version but this guy has talent for sure!
