A Pat on His Orange Head

Guest Post by Eric Peters

At last, something.

Trump “pulled out” of the Paris Climate Change Agreement – agreed to by his predecessor back in 2015 and awaiting a majoritarian 55 of the earth’s nations to agree before it becomes binding within those countries.

That is to say upon the people within those countries – who had no say in the matter whatsoever beyond the gauzy connection between a Dear Leader, who may have received the electoral support of a minority of the citizenry at some distant election, claiming to “represent” them when he says Aye.

Trump’s saying Nay – regardless of the reasons why – is (yes) huge.

Especially as regards your car.

New – and old.

This has not been much discussed but ought to be.

Both, you see, “emit” carbon dioxide. Not much – the total atmospheric concentration of C02 is less than half a percent of the “air” we breath. Which is mostly nitrogen – almost 80 percent – the remaining almost 20 percent being oxygen and lesser gases.

There is much more Argon in the “air” – almost one full percent of the total! – than C02. But because Argon does not come out of the tailpipes of cars, it is not regarded as an agent of “climate change.”

But C02 is, we’re told – and the Paris Agreement would have cemented its regulation as a “pollutant,” just like gasses you can smell and which make you sick or even kill you – none of which carbon dioxide, in the fractional amounts produced by motor vehicles, could even possibly do to you.

Keep in mind that the grand total of all the carbon dioxide from every source, natural as well as man-made, that is floating around in the “air” is less than half of one percent of the total.

What percentage of that less-than-half-a-percent do you suppose is produced by motor vehicles?

You may perhaps have noticed a pattern.

VW was crucified over the fractionally higher amounts of an actual pollutant – oxides of nitrogen (NOx) which are reactive and potentially harmful to people – emitted by its diesel engines.

It was implied that the amounts at issue were huge and catastrophic – “up to 40 times the legal maximum!” it was endlessly screeched. But in fact, the amounts were minuscule – of relevance only insofar as they were higher than an arbitrary government standard. There was no burden of proof upon the government to establish that, in fact, these fractionally higher/minuscule increases in N0x emissions caused any harm to anyone.

It is the same – but much worse – with this carbon dioxide/“climate change” business.

First, because the amounts at issue are almost immeasurable. People in the mass have been taught by TeeVee to believe – and that is exactly the right word, in the religious sense – that “human activity” (not just the activity of motor vehicles) is pouring immense volumes of carbon dioxide into the air.

And yet, ask any of them how much of the earth’s atmosphere is composed of C02 and how much of that amount is produced by man-made sources. You are likely to get answers considerably higher than fractions of a whole number.

Second, because carbon dioxide – unlike oxides of nitrogen and other actual pollutants that choke you or give you cancer or otherwise represent a menace to health – is an inert gas. It does not make it hard to breath – not in fractional amounts, at any rate – and while it is indeed a “greenhouse gas,” the failure of the Experts tub-thumping “climate change” (nee, “global warming,” which didn’t market well) to honestly state how small the amount at issue is in the scheme of things, along with the claim that fractions of fractions of a percent produced by “human activity” are triggering catastrophic change, is either witch-doctoring or something much more malevolent.

Certainly, the climate is changing. It does that. One of the great idiocies of our age is that the public, a large percentage of it, has come to believe it is unnatural for the climate to change. And that any change they find disquieting or unpleasant – such as a particularly hot summer or a hard winter – is unnatural and more than that, caused by man and his infernal machines.

This fear is egged on by the political apparat and the media that is attached to it like a lamprey to the flanks of a shark. They both have much to gain. Also crony capitalists such as Elon Musk – whose entire “business” depends on the government mandating the manufacture and subsidizing the sale of his (cough) “zero emissions” electric cars and on the “carbon credit” extortion racket that provides his operating capital. Musk is quite understandably furious about Trump’s decision; see here.

As the Church Lady used to say on Saturday Night Live, it is all very convenient.

The shuck-and-jive that’s been performed is to convince people a Dire Threat looms. And Dire Threats – which seem to pop up very conveniently whenever a prior one disappears – see, for instance the Dire Threat of Radical Islamic Terrorism, which popped up after the old excuse for everything, the Soviet Union, disappeared – always require Dire Solutions.

In this case, punishing regulation of motor vehicles.

Just ours, of course.

We will be required to pay more for new “compliant” ones, and their use will probably be limited or taxed, in order to “encourage” us to self-limit. This is already being done in Europe.

The older cars – “gross polluters” in the argot of climate change – may be banned outright. Also already happening in Europe.

Neither the Dear Leaders nor their Praetorians (e.g., the military and also the lesser Praetorians in law enforcement) will suffer much, if any diminishment. Dear Leader will not be driven around in a Prius. Just as Dear Leader – and the lesser leaders – will remain armed to the teeth even as they urge us to believe that guns offer no protection and only exacerbate violence.

But this Dear Leader has given us a respite. He will inherit the wind for it.

I didn’t bother to read Peters article although I like and admire his work. But I don’t give a rat’s ass to hear the particulars of ‘climate change’. It doesn’t matter in my view. What does matter is that the ruling elite want it so I despise it down to my last corpuscle. After seeing 50 years of lies and skulduggery come from these bastards (pols-media-Hollywooders, etc) I’ve grown the hide of a rhino. My strong sense is that Trump will pull another NAFTA scam. Change the title-shuffle the words a bit and it’s business as usual. We’ll see. In deference to Star, EL Coyote, Koko and the other Trump believers if he holds true and really ditches this POS completely then I owe you a major apology and will reconsider my hatred of all politicians-for a while at least. But don’t bet the farm. These bastards we’re up against are as evil and diabolical as it gets.

“At last, something.” Well I thought pulling out of TPP was pretty good, too.

And Gorsuch, and coal, and EPA regulatory restrictions, and the Dakota pipeline, and Sanctuary cities as well as more border enforcement and deportations reducing the amount of illegal immigration by a huge number, and restoring respect for us instead of apologizing to mostly unfriendly countries, and about a hundred or so other things his detractors seem to want to ignore in order to join the MSM in criticizing him.

Still waiting on your wall but totally unwilling to even write Congress to help put pressure on them to get it underway.

Tens of thousands of letters against it vs none or very few for it doesn’t further the cause much, now does it? Your individual letter may not mean much by itself, but added to tens or hundreds or millions of others it puts the pressure on them and gives them reason to do it (out of fear for reelection if nothing else). Same way an individual vote didn’t elect Trump, but tens of millions of individual votes did.

Trump can’t do it without Congress, they and no one else are the ones that dedicate the money to it to get it done.

If you think millions of letters on a subject would have no effect on Congress your are the one that is naive.

Or just plain stupid as well as ignorant.

As many assorted representatives have found out over recent years, ignoring letters expressing the wishes of their constituents leads to losing the election and being replaced by those that don’t.

Even a political simpleton knows this. Next time you meet your Congress thing ask him if letters have any influence on him/her or not.

You do go to town hall and public appearance meetings to meet your representatives, don’t you? Even if it does require a bit more effort than a one sentence long letter?

I have one word for Anonymous that thinks writing his congresscritter is going to do some good. TARP.
How many people were against this? Hell, the Tea Party was FORMED because of this one thing back then. At first, the vote for the 700 BILLION bailout of the banksters did fail. THAT was democracy, then when the OWNERS of Washington informed their STAFF in the congress (the congresscritters) what their next campaign funding would look like without their big handouts of heavily printed currency, then OUR democracy went out the window, and naturally TARP passed. Completely against the will of 90% of this country. This was one time when democrats, republicans, libtards, Bernie supporters (in later years) all AGREED on something. How did that work out? I remember reading about the sheer volume of “letters to congress” that came in as a result of that. What happened – QE1 QE2 QE 3. They not only went against our will, they doubled down to rub it in our faces. Just to let us know who is in charge. Now WE pay much more for everything, and our savings earns nothing. Thanks dear “leaders”. Our consolation prize though was Shrub, the intellectually idiotic President of the time, reassuring us that it was necessary and for our own good. OK.
Admin is absolutely correct. After 2008 – 2009, our Government has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman, JPM Chase, Wells, the MIC, and healthcare. And since YOU, I and anyone else is not on “the board” of any of these organs, WE have zero say in this.
While this Paris accord thing is good, I would like to see some real action out of Trump. There are a lot of EXISTING laws that he, as commander in chief could enforce RIGHT DAMN NOW, and would not need congress to ratify. Where is his action with that?

This is the crucial point, that enough people of good will HAVE to abandon without question the notion that gov’t is there to serve them. When enough of the growing throng of people are proud non-voters and dismiss those who buy the racket as saps and detrimental to the side of good, redemption begins. There is a good reason why 1/2 of the voting age people in the U S don’t vote. No we’re not lazy and apathetic-were tired of being taken for assholes.

Sorry, Admin, have to disagree that the Repubs are “his” party – he DEFEATED every “establishment” RINO that ran for President, rubbing their noses in the fact that the country as a whole hates THEM only fractionally less than the Dems! NOT ONE of the RINO establishment came out for Trump when he announced – it took a while before Jeff Sessions came around and saw him as viable, and the rest of them – most are there to feather their own nests. I think Rience Priebus is one of them – if he’s not actually a leaker – and I doubt the rest of them are much better.
That being said, Trump had to hire SOMEBODY to answer the phones at all these agencies like EPA, DOEd, DOEn, and so on – he’s not allowed to shut them all down on his own, like he’d probably want to. But I digress – the Repubs are almost as much opposition as the press, and that’s saying a lot.

Time to end all subsidies to Musk and his snake oil Tesla empire. W/O said subsidies, his fraudulent empire will collapse overnight. Eric writes some incredibly good stuff when he concentrates on cars and this is a fine example of his abilities.

Without which we and virtually everything else on earth would die.

CO2 increases the biomass of earth, it doesn’t endanger it.

“If you tell a big enough lie and tell it frequently enough, it will be believed.” Mankind produced CO2 will cause Global Warming is a twofer lie specially designed for consumption by Useful Idiots; it’s purpose is to persuade them to assist TPTB in killing billions of themselves by not preparing for the coming Mini-Ice Age within 10 years. Of course, public schools turning them into science illiterate Sheeple that worship entertainment morons helped.

Via photosynthesis plants use water, sunlight, nutrients and…wait for it, CO fucking 2 to produce food. The useful idiots that complain about CO2 don’t have a clue! And it gets even better. Oxygen is a byproduct of this process. Only plants make food and the give us oxygen.

“There is much more Argon in the “air” – almost one full percent of the total! – than C02. But because Argon does not come out of the tailpipes of cars, it is not regarded as an agent of “climate change.”

This is what “climate change” is all about-control and power.
They can’t control argon so do not care about it.Same with radon.
Radon is a naturally occurring gas that comes from the ground and does cause cancer.Since man cannot control it,other than signing some disclosure papers when you buy or rent a home, nobody hears about it,despite it being fairly dangerous.
