Are We Nearing Civil War?

Guest Post by Patrick J. Buchanan

President Trump may be chief of state, head of government and commander in chief, but his administration is shot through with disloyalists plotting to bring him down.

We are approaching something of a civil war where the capital city seeks the overthrow of the sovereign and its own restoration.

Thus far, it is a nonviolent struggle, though street clashes between pro- and anti-Trump forces are increasingly marked by fistfights and brawls. Police are having difficulty keeping people apart. A few have been arrested carrying concealed weapons.

That the objective of this city is to bring Trump down via a deep state-media coup is no secret. Few deny it.

Last week, fired Director of the FBI James Comey, a successor to J. Edgar Hoover, admitted under oath that he used a cutout to leak to The New York Times an Oval Office conversation with the president.

Goal: have the Times story trigger the appointment of a special prosecutor to bring down the president.

Comey wanted a special prosecutor to target Trump, despite his knowledge, from his own FBI investigation, that Trump was innocent of the pervasive charge that he colluded with the Kremlin in the hacking of the DNC.

Comey’s deceit was designed to enlist the police powers of the state to bring down his president. And it worked. For the special counsel named, with broad powers to pursue Trump, is Comey’s friend and predecessor at the FBI, Robert Mueller.

As Newt Gingrich said Sunday: “Look at who Mueller’s starting to hire. … (T)hese are people that … look to me like they’re … setting up to go after Trump … including people, by the way, who have been reprimanded for hiding from the defense information into major cases. …

“This is going to be a witch hunt.”

Another example. According to Daily Kos, Trump planned a swift lifting of sanctions on Russia after inauguration and a summit meeting with Vladimir Putin to prevent a second Cold War.

The State Department was tasked with working out the details.

Instead, says Daniel Fried, the coordinator for sanctions policy, he received “panicky” calls of “Please, my God, can you stop this?”

Operatives at State, disloyal to the president and hostile to the Russia policy on which he had been elected, collaborated with elements in Congress to sabotage any detente. They succeeded.

“It would have been a win-win for Moscow,” said Tom Malinowski of State, who boasted last week of his role in blocking a rapprochement with Russia. State employees sabotaged one of the principal policies for which Americans had voted, and they substituted their own.

Not in memory have there been so many leaks to injure a president from within his own government, and not just political leaks, but leaks of confidential, classified and secret documents. The leaks are coming out of the supposedly secure investigative and intelligence agencies of the U.S. government.

The media, the beneficiaries of these leaks, are giving cover to those breaking the law. The real criminal “collusion” in Washington is between Big Media and the deep state, colluding to destroy a president they detest and to sink the policies they oppose.

Yet another example is the unfolding “unmasking” scandal.

While all the evidence is not yet in, it appears an abnormal number of conversations between Trump associates and Russians were intercepted by U.S. intelligence agencies.

On orders higher up, the conversations were transcribed, and, contrary to law, the names of Trump associates unmasked.

Then those transcripts, with names revealed, were spread to all 16 agencies of the intel community at the direction of Susan Rice, and with the possible knowledge of Barack Obama, assuring some would be leaked after Trump became president.

The leak of Gen. Michael Flynn’s conversation with the Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, after Obama imposed sanctions on Russia for the hacking of the DNC, may have been a product of the unmasking operation. The media hit on Flynn cost him the National Security Council post.

Trump has had many accomplishments since his election. Yet his enemies in the media and their deep state allies have often made a purgatory of his presidency.

What he and his White House need to understand is that this is not going to end, that this is a fight to the finish, that his enemies will not relent until they see him impeached or resigning in disgrace.

To prevail, Trump will have to campaign across this country and wage guerrilla war in this capital, using the legal and political weapons at his disposal to ferret out the enemies within his own government.

Not only is this battle essential, if Trump hopes to realize his agenda, it is winnable. For the people sense that the Beltway elites are cynically engaged in preserving their own privileges, positions and power.

If the president cannot rewrite Obamacare or achieve tax reform, he should not go around the country in 2018 wailing about Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer. They are not the real adversaries. They are but interchangeable parts.

He should campaign against the real enemies of America First by promising to purge the deep state and flog its media collaborators.

Time to burn down the Bastille.

Right up until it starts and it’s you and your family that starts dying, and you lose everything of value to you.

Civil wars are not pleasant affairs and are not spectator sports, they tend to be rather vicious to anyone and everyone in their arena.

Don’t wish for civil war, work to prevent it.

23 years in the military asshat…speak for yourself Nancy.

“Right up until it starts and it’s you and your family that starts dying, and you lose everything of value to you.”

I’m more fearful of your right to vote than me dying in a war. You sound like Nancy Pelosi…you two must be related.

Greetings,

Many of us here at TBP have military experience so be careful of whom you call an asshat.

So, let me remind you of the very simple fact that our infrastructure was not designed to withstand even a low level conflict. The loss of water, sanitation, electricity and transportation would immediately doom 90% of the population. As a matter of fact, the Soviet Union’s plan to destroy the United States did not rest on them using hundreds of nuclear weapons all over the place but to use just a handful to take out our ports and refineries. The Soviet military concluded that they could kill way more people over here just by shutting off our ability to produce or import fuel.

Think about that, a loss of fuel would kill more people than a shower of nuclear weapons. Now, Civil War may come and it is wise to be prepared for it as well as any other DISASTER that may come your way. In the end, I no more wish for a Civil War than I do a tsunami.

Two years in combat in Vietnam.

A leg full of shrapnel scars from a mortar.

That qualifies me as an asshat in your view, weed.

But as a Vietnam Veteran, I’ve gotten used to it over the last 50 years of being seen that way.

I’m guessing you never actually saw up close and personal combat, the kind where you can actually see the eyes of some little short guy banging away at you with an AK and trying to kill you.

But if you get your wish and get your civil war, I certainly hope you do get to do that, I’m sure you’ll love the experience.

Your blind faith in nonviolence is characteristic of “baby boomers” and is simply misplaced.

Nonviolence only works against a government that is already tired and has a real conscience. It did not work for Armenians, Ukrainians, or many other peoples who were exterminated by energetic and ruthless forces.

A folk proverb I heard once, I think maybe from South or Central America, goes “to play at revolution is to plow the sea”.

That goes double for a civil war.

Civil wars are nothing to wish for but oftentimes easy to project for tbose outside the area of impact. I would much rather the proles go Galt. Doubt it will happen tbough. We’re damn close to civil war here and I think it’s going to be a French rather than an American affair.

Rush has pretty good instincts and views.
The problem with him as I see it is that he is a Republican who is fairly conservative as opposed to being a conservative who is a Republican because they most represent his views.
Therefore he bends over forward to defend the indefensible.

After all, that is the only way you could say that, at least unless you are just repeating something you heard from someone else that probably doesn’t listen to him either.

“Trump has had many accomplishments since his election. Yet his enemies in the media and their deep state allies have often made a purgatory of his presidency.”

Not that anyone actually cares about his accomplishments, or even bothers to check to see how many and what they are.

People who should be supporting Trump are turning on him, and becoming deep state supporters in the process without even realizing they are joining that side.

Then they wonder how to overcome and get rid of the deep state and why they can’t seem to make any progress toward it.

Go figure.

It is somewhat of Trumps own fault as well. He has a direct line to his supporters via twitter. If he had made a point of directly communicating his intentions and educating folks on the why of it, he could have neutered a lot of the media. Also, when he says stupid things like: Snowden is a traitor, we need to increase the Military budget (instead of streamlining it to protect OUR OWN BORDERS) and he continues the foreign engagements. Also, WHY are we selling arms to the Saudi’s? What about his asshat son-in-law Kushner?
He needs to first stop the bleeding from his own mouth, and his Whitehouse, then he can wage war on those that are causing the problems.
His supporters are only turning against him because they see him doing the same things that previous occupiers have done. Believe me, he could flip his supporters back on to his side of the table in a few weeks if he would just use the power of his office, in ways that show he really means business in cleaning all of the crap out of Washington. He needs to communicate effectively, and show his intentions, systematically picking apart all of the sacred cows of the deep state and the media. He could start with the head of the beast – The Fed, and then work down from there.

“He should campaign against the real enemies of America First by promising to purge the deep state and flog its media collaborators.”

He won’t be campaigning in ’20 unless he fires some people who are trying to bring him down. Everybody at State who had a hand in the recent blocking of detente with Russia should be fired, and they’re all subject to being fired. Making more promises ain’t going to help.

What’s the matter, Pat? Did you sit too close to Ron Paul and catch his half-stepping disease?

So far, firing any of them seems to result in increased congressional calls for investigation and calls for his impeachment for things like obstruction of justice and collusion and such.

He’s in a position like a King who led his army into battle against an enemy only to find that they’ve almost all deserted and run away leaving him alone among the enemy to fend for himself.

But he still keeps fighting.

I don’t particularly want Trump, I most certainly don’t want Hillary or Bernie or any other democrat/progressive. I really have NO interest is maintaining the existing government structure either in Washington DC or at any government level below that. The Confederacy did not want a civil war (the struggle for control of the central government), they simply wanted their freedom back. That is all I wish. I do not see my freedom coming back with Trump in power or as victorious over the forces of the Deep State.

I agree with Buchanan that Trump should go on the offensive.
He should go back into campaign mode and start doing rallies a couple times/week.
He could bypass the national media and grant interviews to local/regional media while or b4 he is visiting the rally regions.
Think back on how often Clinton and Obama were in campaign mode-did it work 4 them?

Doing so will cause both fear and loyalty in the Rep officeholders while building loyalty w/the base.

A half step forward by Trump is better than two steps backwards by the Democrats and their Fellow Travelers (NeoCons and RINOs). We all need to be winning hearts and minds to Conservatism, exposing the MSM leftist and saying little prayers to God to lead and protect Trump; that would help him more than just pointing to his faults (Babe Ruth was called the Strike Out King because he led the American League in Strikeouts a total of 5 years but his fans knew he’d hit a home run when it was really needed). The NYC MSM are distracting the Useless Idiots from Global Cooling Snows (which will paralyze big cities) and the coming global economic crash (esp foreign countries switching from dollars to anything else); when the FSA wakes up cold and hungry, it’s gonna be hell. Prepare with food, ammo, survival tactics, and God; and don’t blame Conservatives, Trump or God!

Speaking of Trump, tomorrow is his birthday.Below is an appeal from the Tea Party to wear red in his honor.

President Donald J. Trump celebrates his 71st birthday on Wednesday, June 14! How perfect is it that – on the same day we celebrate Flag Day – we also celebrate the birth of a man committed to restoring freedom and prosperity in our country despite a rabid liberal mob intent on his downfall? Will you join us in celebrating President Trump and his pro-liberty agenda by wearing red on Wednesday, June 14? Join Tea Party Patriots in supporting President Trump’s pro-freedom agenda by committing to wear red (or a flag pin!) on Wednesday, June 14! Then share with all of your patriot friends so that we have a HUGE showing of support on the president’s birthday!

Trump should learn the Obama tactics when dealing with congress. If they want an administration person to testify say ,NO. Subpoena,NO. If they press charges for not honoring the subpoena the AG will just put the charges in the trash. If Congress tries to force testimony, plead the fifth. Refuse to act in any positive way in regards to Congress. If they don’t like it ,tell them to take you to court. If you lose ,appeal. If you lose again appeal again. Take it to the Supreme Court. If you lose, comply with all paper and electronic information requests. Dribble the FOIA requests out a few each month for security reasons. Say there is not a smidgen of evidence of wrong doing because many of the requested files have been lost, destroyed or wiped clean by some schmuck contractor. Plead the fifth if you forget to say you don’t recall.

Starting today any meetingsof substance must be held in a chartered plane or limo on a tarmac.

This should take at least 6 years. Screw them.

No sane person wants civil war; I can agree with that.
But then, what does that say about the sanity of people who are:
– STILL importing Islamics to “resettle” among us (KILL THIS, PRES. TRUMP!)
– STILL paying people more welfare if they have more children
– STILL wasting time on Russian hacking when it’s already been categorically denied by everyone who was in a position to know
– STILL electing Waters, Pelosi, Johnson, and similar incompetents to Congress
It may not be a civil war; it may simply be an unpleasant way to thin out the mentally ill when the funds for asylums (and the will to build and staff them) is not present.

We are nearing a civil war in much the same way that a man falling from altitude without a parachute is approaching the ground. The mass immigration of a hostile foreign population, the emplacement of traitors in the bureaucracy and military command structure, the black idiots matter and antifa groups – these should be viewed as pre-conflict maneuvering and training, respectively.

Poole’s Phantom Soldier is worth reading, as is Lind’s Understanding Fourth Generation War guide – if you have no background.

The prep work for a major conflict starts years before the shooting starts. We are near the end of that prep work, and approaching the beginning of the shooting.

The people that are familiar with these things are concerned, because the events occurring in this country have been done in other countries, and the exact same techniques applied in those various places, are what we see being applied to American society now.

Sadly, you are correct. It should be self-evident but it’s not. History is a catalog of solutions but noone reads it. The only ways I see this country avoiding it is invocation of Article V, suspension of the Constitution and installation of a Caesar, or allowing peaceful referendums of secession. I don’t think Trump would let CA secede because he seems to have this unwarranted love of Lincoln.

That being said, there isn’t a chance in Hell of any Democrat letting a productive state ever secede peacefully, either. It’s sad…nature abhors unnatural unions and will revert to the mean one way or another.
