When McDonalds opts for automation, they are exercising their right in a free market-based economy to preserve their own interests.

With or without minimum-wage legislation they will exercise that right.

Arguing against minimum-wage legislation will just free-up cash to the Corporations to buy more automation, and have no-one looking after the interests of the industries making and supporting automation.

Yeah, Seattle proves that the minimum wage hike is a good thing for low end workers.

There’s a real world and an imaginary world, better figure out which one you’re living in.

Geezuz – you moron.

I prefer to pocket profits rather than invest them at low ROI. High wages means higher ROI on investment. So automation becomes more desirable. Plus high wages reduce my ability to compete.

Automation aside, I don’t care for the food at the
McD’s. Do people wash their hands? Will people
was the machine’s hands?
The mango smoothie is pretty delicious, I have to
admit. I hope it isn’t all sodium, sugar and artificial
flavors. I like to have one once in the summer.

Suzanna- THAT is the big question for me, who keeps the prep areas clean all day during production? Nasty shit could be going on and a machine may not notice and I’m sure won’t care. I just don’t trust anything cooked by a bot.

Yes, Suzanna.

That’s what the cartoon meme is all about – your personal preferences in fast-food!

BL “Nasty shit could be going on…”
Up here in Canuckistan, machines and automation already is spreading e coli and other bacteria all over the country because our food inspection agency has decided that corporations ‘will do the right thing’ and police themselves accordingly, without their meddling. How is that working out for us?
Recall after recall on an increasing scale every year!!!

I rest my case……that sounds like a lot of nasty shit going on. Unfortunately, I recently gave Canada credit for having clean food products. I even started seeking out mostly German, Canadian and Swiss items for consumption, guess I better rethink this.

How does one begin one’s climb of the ladder of success, when the government keeps chopping off the bottom rung?

I learned the value of hard work, a good work ethic, being a reliable employee, taking on new responsibilities, etc. all while working for McDonald’s for just over minimum wage (they paid me more because I happily was willing to work the closing shift for more money). I can’t imagine having not been able to be employed until after I had completed 4 years of college. College does not prepare you to be employable….your first jobs in high school, etc. do (in part).

Judging from the remarks on this thread, IQ and room-temperature share something in common. In Celsius!
