Every member of both houses of Congress should be shot with tranquilizer darts, tagged, and released in the Northwest Territories.

Then start it back up…

Again, can’t see the image above (assume it is just a pic or a vid) and it may be due to the new Firefox Quantum which was installed on 01/04 (guess) and ran fine.

A security patch was installed on 01/11 to fix ‘Meltdown’ and ‘Spectre’ timing attacks.

edit: Since 01/11 is when the problem started.

you mean browser – understand

edit: RHS jr………….the reason I wrote the comment is that I know there are other users of Firefox experiencing this same problem.

I wondered why heck I was having trouble. If I post a comment, I get an error message. But at least it usually posts.

Think I have located the problem: at the far left of the address bar is a circle with an i inside it and the next item is a ‘tracking’ symbol; I clicked on it, got a drop-down menu; one msg says ‘connection is not secure’, parts of this page are not secure (such as images).

The 2nd section of the drop-down menu is ‘Tracking Protection’
“Firefox is blocking parts of the page that may track your browsing”. Below this msg is a rectangular box with words:
“Disable protection for this site” – Clicking on this should allow all images.

If computer goes bust, send the bill to J. Quinn

EDIT: MY FIX WORKS

Kokoda, I’ve instituted the changes you suggested. Hopefully, that will make a difference. I’m hoping it will fix getting kick out of TBP every time I post a comment, which is why I haven’t been posting many lately.

No, didn’t fix that part. But I have to install a new modem I received from Comcast (who suck), who say my old modem won’t handle new changes, so that could be the problem.

BOOM, FIXED!

Thanks!

I work for the government and a shut down is the least of my worries. . . The last time around Obama armed the USFS with M-4s and had them scare off folks trying to take pictures of Mt Rushmore. This time I don’t expect the government will be fighting the people they serve.

The total elemanation of all gov would be the worlds best news.
But then the 2% of the pop the subhuman jew creeps would need to find work. So, instead of child trafficing mabe they could get work sweeping streets. My answer is all jews at the bottom of the ocean.

Best thing they could do is shut it down permanently then let the citizens sort it out with knives and guns. End result would be MUCH smaller population with a bunch of DRIVEN motherfuckers ready to get on with life.

Mission control, this is Apollo 18. We have engine shutdown. Repeat, we have engine shutdown. Please respond, mission control.

Mission control? Mission control? Do you copy?
It is going to be a rough landing.

What I hope happens is that they finally pass some cobbled up piece of garbage, and then Trump vetoes it. That would be tremendous.

amen to that–
republican house candidates usually do well after these shutdowns–
what would make it better is if trump refused to allow the govt employees who are temporarily laid off to be paid for the time they are off–

I don’t recall who they blamed the last shutdown on. They say this one might last a couple of days. There was a short shutdown at one time. Maybe the shutdowns will accelerate or maybe they will cease once they admit CRs are the only way to go, sort of like living paycheck to paycheck, which will be when robbing Pete to pay Paul quits working.

The military complains that CRs don’t allow for upgrades. Well, that’s what living paycheck to paycheck is; baling wire and chewing gum repairs on aging equipment. Uncle Ronnie went in hock to upgrade defense systems to Star Wars, this so unnerved the Ruskies that they quit the weapons race. Today, the situation is almost reversed. Uncle Putin is openly admired in the US and folks gawk at his weaponry.

Maybe one day, instead of a bald eagle, the morons in the mega churches will release a bear among the (un)faithful while shouting, USSR, USSR, USSR. Their love of country will shrivel and wither; it’s to be expected, even a wife loses respect for a poor husband. As the old Mexican saying goes -When the wolf’s at the door, love flies out the window.

Except it’s not the USSR anymore. I prefer nominally Orthodox Russia to post-Christian Western Europe. I really hope to go to Russia someday. I’d love to see Lake Baikal in winter.

They can’t let the shutdown last too long or people will realize the closed-down part of government isn’t needed.

Agreed. Same thing happened in Spain after those spoiled brats politicians had to work out a coalition agreement for the first time. After a few months, the economy did well and people took notice – next thing you knew, they compromised and formed a government. Same is happening in Germany. These jackoffs have been going back and forth for 2+ months and go from impasse to false hope back to impasse. Now articles appearing in the press “what’s not working right now if you think about it”. Wish we could clear out Capitol Hill and get a do over. Plus, get rid of Trump’s cabinet, half the supreme court and most district courts. Nah, forget it, we’re screwed.

Things no one will miss with a government shut down.

1) Head Start. Now “disadvantaged” parents will have to read to their kids like everyone else. But since we know that black dads are better than white dads at raising kids, there shouldn’t be any problems.

2) Civil suits. The government will stop launching civil lawsuits. Good.

3) Phony flu vaccine: The CDC will stop pushing its phony flu vaccine.

4) Bathrooms at national parks. People will have to find another place to go to the bathroom in an environment target rich with bushes.

5) Businesses trying to import cheap labor with work visas. They will have no choice but to hire Americans.

6) People who want flood insurance. People will have to bear the risks of buying a home next to raging rivers for a few days. Or maybe not buy homes there at all, would that be such a terrible thing?

7) Economic reports. Somehow we will have to do without government economic reports for a few days. Can we really manage?

8) No mine inspections. I expect most mines will collapse without government inspections.

9) No refugees admissions. For this reason alone the government should stay closed.

10) No Smithsonian. Let them charge admission and support themselves. That’s how museums in the real world work.

11) Fewer tourists from the third world. Tourists from third world countries (who often overstay their visas) may have trouble getting into the country.

12) NASA. I suspect that even after a lengthy shutdown all the planets and stars will be exactly where they were before it all started. What’s the hurry?

13) The EPA. The EPA will be unable to harass law abiding businesses for a few days.

14) The Department of Transportation. Payments for pork projects will be held up.

15) The National Endowment for the Arts. Artists will have to pay the cost of painting with their own excrement for a while.

16) The US Institute of Peace. We’ll have to cope with whatever wars break out while the USIP is out of action.

17) The State Department. Hopefully everyone will be sent home, forever. Once they’ve finished processing all those FOIA requests, that is.

18) The Department of Agriculture. Is it possible for farms to produce food without the DOA’s help?

19) The Department of Commerce. Big businesses which get export subsidies will have to wait a little longer for their welfare checks.

20) The Department of Labor. Which doesn’t do a day’s worth of work. Will not be missed.

21) The Small Business Administration. Small businesses will have to get loans in the private sector from organizations I think are called banks.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/18/politics/obamacare-government-shutdown/index.html

“I’m happy to negotiate with (congressional Republicans) around the budget, just as I’ve done in the past,” Obama told business leaders on Wednesday.

“What I will not do is create a habit, a pattern, whereby the full faith and credit of the United States ends up being a bargaining chip to set policy. It’s irresponsible.”

The president told his audience to “flip the script for a second and imagine a situation in which a Democratic speaker said to a Republican president, ‘I’m not going to increase the debt ceiling unless you (fund a bill that grants protections to DACA recipients to ensure they won’t be deported.)

“That can’t be a recipe for government,” he said.

I filled in the bracketed line myself, but you get the gist. What is good for me is not good for thee.

According to this article,

https://qz.com/1184263/government-shutdown-americans-want-daca-so-why-cant-congress-make-a-deal/

EVERYONE wants DACA. There is no dissent. All of America is in complete accord on granting citizenship to millions of illegals right now, without exception, so why on Earth did this shutdown have to take place? It is irresponsible to do what was less than five years ago responsible.
