Ha. This very passage was the topic at church last weekend. I won absolutely no friends when I pointed out that ‘beast of the field’ refers to non – Adamic ‘humans’, just as some would refer to black people as farm equipment.
If the passage was referring to wild beasts that’s what we would read.
