I had last seen Fran in June of 1961. In late April, 1989, I received a letter from her, asking if I remembered her. I replied, “Yes; it’s been 28 years, ten months and 18 days, but who’s counting?”
So, a second wedding for each of us, that August.
Alzheimer’s attacked her around 2009, and as is usual, worsened. I rarely left the house during her final two years. She died in March of 2015.
So: I’m alone but not lonely. I have some local friends and many friends and friendly acquaintances scattered around the country. Hooray for email! 🙂
I’ve never had the notion that sex is a spectator sport, even vicariously via Porn sites. Why bother? I can coast along with many happy memories of some truly fine ladies I’ve known through the years–and still maintain contact with some of them via email.
So life is still good. I’m still grinning and telling jokes and doing the sing-along “audience precipitation” as I’ve been doing for many a decade.
I must admit that gratuitous hostility is off-putting. For all that she has no effect on my life, I can’t help but feel sorry for such as Andrea.

I’m so very weary of angry women who feel ‘put upon’ by the realities of life. Bashing and hating men has become the latest blood sport – and it brings N-O-T-H-I-N-G positive to any debate or conversation.
It’s not hard to divine many unrealistic feminist expectations, and thus understand why many men prefer porn or abstention over trying to date progressive women.
