But we are supposed to genuflect reflexively to all LEO’s….well no. I think the thin line in too many cases is between cops and criminals where they are virtually indistinguishable. Most cops are jaded and very nasty human beings either being self selected for those traits or traumatized over time by the dregs of humanity. Somehow we survived for a long time without police forces might be time to re-evaluate. No I don’t plan on calling 911 in an emergency either.

When and where did we survive without “police forces”?

well Wiki says the first organized police force was 1822. Not so long ago. Prior to that there were “night watchmen” etc. People took care of their own security though in many cities the military provided some level of security internally while mostly focused on external security. Remember the police are there as a deterrent and do some work to solve crimes after the fact. They are not capable of “protection” despite the slogan “protect and serve”… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_law_enforcement_in_the_United_Kingdom

The Muslims do that in their “no go” zones with their sharia police patrols.

It does seem to work for them.

The local trustworthy sherrif , police or Trooper are sadly no longer accountable or trustworthy in far to many cases . The emotional or mental instability coupled with the very corrupt nature of the business of government and law enforcement has reached an epidemic in far to many instances to a point of us and them attitude . This attitude portrays itself regardless of the interaction with police . Never ever talk to police or answer questions about anything and only respond in a respectful polite manner that you will not be questioned without legal representation and continue to ask : Am I being detained or am I free to go . Any response from police other than your free to go indicates you are under arrest and no the officer does not have to make that obvious at that moment to you and yes he can lie like a hooker in the concession booth !

He will probably get off. If he is fired, another police department will hire him. You see, the “thin blue line” protects its own. It is likely that if the prosecutor prefers charges it will be just to satisfy public opinion. It is a safe bet, that if this cop goes before a grand jury, they will “no bill” him and let him go. Do I have faith in the system? Absolutely NOT. I hope I am wrong, BUT…there are too many dirty cops still on the force despite them committing criminal acts.
Let’s look at the differences in the way police are treated after a questionable shooting:
A citizen that uses deadly force, even justifiably, will be immediately handcuffed and arrested, until the situation is “sorted out”. He will most likely be “detained” in a holding cell at the police station until the prosecutor makes a decision whether to prosecute. Questioning by police will most certainly be forceful and immediate, with police interrogators purposely trying to “trip up” the citizen by attempting to elicit contradictory statements–standard police interrogation tactics.
A police officer in an identical situation will NOT be handcuffed or arrested. The police officer will be afforded a union attorney and will have 72 hours in which to “get his story straight”. In addition, a police-friendly prosecutor will most likely hesitate to prefer charges, as “they are on the same team”. Most likely an extended taxpayer-paid “vacation” (administrative leave) will result.
Not so for the ordinary citizen.
Double standard?
You bet…

The town we live in has no police.
The State troopers and County sheriffs do coverage on alternating weeks.
Burglars sometimes get a pass because the state and county do not share much information. No worry to me because they were eventually caught and the neighbors keep an eye out.

That’s the way to do it. Contract cops have no incentive to abuse traffic laws to raise money for the municipality.

Big ass dog as a warning system(I will not let him fight for me,but, cops raid and try and harm him WILL fight for him, family and all)and tools of self defense. You live in the sticks all a cop would do by the time they get there is outline me corpse in chalk,my friends kids can do that.Have off line hidden video surveillance for property, will catch thieves and cops acting badly, looking into that for vehicles now.I love the old saying,”Why do I have a firearm,a cop is too heavy to carry!”Beyond say neighborhood group ect.,we are on our own.

Brother, they will kill your dog in a heartbeat. I have a golden retriever and I keep her kennel set up by the front door……for.that.one.reason.alone. I don’t expect to have any interaction with our local PD but you can bet your ass if I do,my dog will be locked in before I ever open the door.

I shall relate a recent humorous local happening witnessed by a very honest associate in my neck of the woods.
One day in the Flatwoods Super-Qwik convenience store a group of cops were sitting there engorging and talking loudly and boastfully of their new Kevlar armor bullet-proof jackets and what bad news they were against any armed perps. A known nonagenarian man was walking by and said to
them, ” Boys, those bullet-proof jackets ain’t any good.” The cop-fucks said, “What the hell do you mean they aren’t any good?” The very old man then said to them, ” Those goddam jackets can’t bullet-proof your heads.”

Supposedly many in the store were literally laughing and rolling on the floor after this public exchange between the old war veteran and the cop-fucks.

There’s an old story (never verified) about 2 middle aged brothers that used to fish with dynamite on a remote section of the Klamath. After several years Fish & Game purely by chance, had a boat in the water less than a mile away when a stick blew up. Story has it he came speeding up to the brothers’ boat and said “What in the hell are you doin’?” Neither brother said anything. He next said “You know that’s illegal don’t you?” Again, neither responded. Lastly he said “So neither of ya has anything to say?” Whereupon one brother lit a stick and tossed it in the F&G boat and the other brother said “You gonna talk all day or fish?”

And that above is the kind of stupid ego that a lot of the cops have nowadays. Think idiot jock in highschool, but now with a badge and gun. The ONLY reason why a lot of criminals don’t get away with crimes now is that in most cases, they are even dumber than the magic blue uniform wearers.
This is not an “arms” race with high aspirations.
Most of the intelligent cops have either moved to admin, detective, or retired with full pensions and are “consulting”. The beat cop now is probably some of the lowest IQ stock in history.

Stucky- yeah, watch it again in slow motion. The perp tried to bite the ankle of the officer as he was just walking by.

How many times does this happen and no one but the cops and the arrested see it? The perp can’t say anything about “resisting arrest.”

There was no resisting arrest here. The video clearly show the individual complying with the first officer. He was on the ground face down with his hands behind his back and was being cuffed again complying. All the officers who responded after the was cuffed need to be terminated for cause. Enough of this crap.

25 years a go I worked with a kid that was a “wannabe” and he subscribed to these police magazines. I thumbed through them and each one without exception had ads for what I’d call legal methamphetamines. Don’t know if it’s still like that but I remember thinking that on top of everything else these guys were amped. Scary shit.

Calm down, everybody. I read YoBo’s post yesterday and I’m convinced that concentration camps are just that, a walk in the park with pools and soccer fields and free healthcare with camp counselors in case you get the blues. Who knew Hitler was so progressive? America can do better than a Nazi, am I right? So we are marching towards a totalitarian state, so what? It’s going to be fun. Thanks, YoBo, for the reassurance! Didn’t Maya tell us that even a caged bird has a reason to sing?

So the victim-perp has now become availed the opportunity to sue for a nice, cash stipend. Several hundred thousand dollars at least to a few millions if his lawyer is any good. The proceeds from the suit paid out of the city’s accounts, which is essentially put on the taxpayers’ backs. Not cool. I suggest that if there is a lawsuit brought by the behavior of a municipal employee, the suit is paid out of the employee’s department’s budget. So then, Cop A does a “my bad”, and the $5 million suit awarded to the victim comes directly out of the police dept’s budget. No more new cruisers, no more raises, no more overtime, no more gladiatorial get-ups until the suit has been paid in full. I’m pretty sure peer pressure within the departments would have some measure of limiting effect on such reprehensible and barbaric behavior. I’d surely hope so anyway.

The other Cops acted like the assault was an everyday event, which it was. That was a severe blow; the victim may have been injured for life.

Cops get taxpayer-funded prescription steroids.

Any questions?
