Open Air Absurdistan

Guest Post by The Zman

One of the defining features of this age is that it is hard to keep pace with the absurdity we see promoted by the people who rule over us. The degree of nuttiness is certainly a big part of our growing revulsion, but it is also the speed. In the 1990’s, it was possible for Bill Clinton, the leader of the respectable Left, to dismiss homosexual marriage. Ten years later, no one on the Left dared do that. Ten years ago, men in dresses were freaks to be mocked. Today they are objects of worship by the finest people in the land.

There are a lot of people offering up explanations for why the people in charge have suddenly gone mad. Mass mental illness, caused by a pathogen would not only explain the problem, but make for an interesting movie plot. Perhaps this is just what the end of a historical epoch is like. Having lost a reason to exist, the ruling classes indulge in whatever craziness they can muster. Maybe our rulers are so alien to us that their sense of normal falls well outside what the rest of us consider decent and proper.

Another reason may be that democracy lacks an innate legitimacy and authority, so it relies on openness to sustain itself. The authority of a parent relies on the fact the father is the head of the household. He is in charge because he can impose his will. Democracy lacks this natural ability to impose its will on the public, so it must seek consensus, which requires a public expression of the general will. In order for everyone to go along with whatever has been decided, they need to see that the majority is in favor of it.

This openness can only work if everyone in the society is welcome to participate in the process of deciding things. It’s why all modern experiments with democracy quickly move from a limited franchise to a full franchise. Once the West started experimenting with democracy in the 19th century, the franchise expanded quickly, even though most nations still had some form of monarchy. In modern America we are handing ballots to the mentally ill, prisoners and to foreigners now. The door to the voting booth is wide open.

The thing is, culture and morality, the shared intellectual space of every society, can only exist with clear borders. What defines French culture from German culture is not just physical distance and biology. There is a shared reality of the French that excludes all others. It is the opposite of open. It is closed. The same is true of moral systems. To exist, they must draw lines between what is and what is not acceptable. That which defines a people is the rejection of openness in favor of a closed, exclusive mode of thought.

Saying “this is not who we are” seems to track with not knowing who we are or why we are even a “we” anymore. The reason for that is the great effort to fulfill the needs of democracy has left western countries as deconstructed components of what used to be a rational, bounded society. France is no longer a closed system, but simply a remnant of a society, the pieces of what used to make up France. No one talks about what it means to be French, because everyone can be French. It’s a thing with no form now.

If the theoretical end point of liberal democracy is a world without boundaries, physical or cultural, then it is a world without morality. After all, morality is a world of fences and gates that control human behavior within the closed social system. In order for there to be a moral order, there must be order and that must include boundaries. Once the boundaries lose their purpose, the fences and gates are simply gravestones in a cemetery of a long forgotten people. No one cares if the kids knock over the grave stones.

In fact, in a world without form, the hunt for something to level becomes increasingly urgent as there is less and less to knock over. Once the statues of the great men of the past are removed, their names must be removed. Once the basics of family life have been destroyed through divorce and feminism, the innocence of childhood is attacked via the degeneracy of transgenderism. Those hunting for grave stones to topple become increasing frantic as the supply of objects to desecrate dwindles after every spasm.

Maybe the people in late empire Rome, or just before the French Revolution, thought the world was going crazy too. Perhaps part of the social cycle is a period of frantic lunacy that is really just a form of panic at the prospect of cultural death. There was certainly a lot of weirdness with the Romans toward the end of the Republic. The French aristocracy was painting themselves up like clowns toward the end. Maybe to the normal people in those ages, these things were as revolting as seeing drag queen story time.

On the other hand, what we think of today as liberal democracy is a great novelty with which we have little experience. Full democracy in America has only existed since the middle of the last century. That’s roughly three generations. The same is true of Europe, where it was imposed after the last war. Eastern Europe has little of the degeneracy we see in the West, mostly because they just adopted liberal democracy. We could simply be seeing what John Adams observed. Democracies always murder themselves.

Zman seems to Celebrate Cultural Communist victories before their day by weaving lies into his essays which pump up the Useless Idiots and stab Conservatives in the back. Some examples: “Ten years ago, men in dresses were freaks to be mocked. Today they are objects of worship by the finest people in the land.” “Having lost a reason to exist, the ruling classes indulge in whatever craziness they can muster .” (They Exist to rob We The People of our Rights and Property) “No one cares if the kids knock over the grave stones.” “The door to the voting booth is wide open.” “Democracies always murder themselves.” (Liberalism murders Democracies). To much Faint Praise of Truth, Justice and the American Way. Our Cause was Just and it will be fulfilled.

First off, just let me say that this might just be the best writing that Zman has ever done. Even if you don’t agree with what he has said completely, you can recognize the clarity of thought and applaud the quality of the writing. Having said that, and looking at RHS’s comment, I too would like to offer some observations in response to Zman’s post.

The most obvious to me, and to credit and RHS is that Zman seems to think that by giving everyone the vote, we have reached full democracy. That is not the case. Sure, everyone can vote, but so what. Those in power control both parties. They offer up the scum from the surface of the swamp for your consideration and you dutifully mark your ballot. “I like Trump (a reality TV star) better than Clinton (a known criminal and pedophile.) The Republicans at the very least seem to imply that they will let you vote in the primary, but the Democrats have stated point blank that they don’t care how the vote goes, it is their party and they brought the punch and they are going to decide who they put up for office. How much more clearly could they explain the value of your vote, if you wish to remain in their party.

So now to the morality, which is what impresses me most about Zman’s post. He explains, quite rightly in my opinion, that it is morality that is protected by borders. It is, in his example, French morality which is different from German morality and it is the border which keeps those two moral systems apart to minimize conflict. This is a simple one in as much as both the French and the Germans are both fundamentally christian. Sure the Germans are dogmatic and the french are libertine, but at their core they have what you could call Judeo/Christian value system.

A German person and a French person can sit in a room together without wanting to kill each other. They both understand the basis for their morality and accept that morality as the basis for their culture so they can co-exist.

But that is not the case with a muslim. A muslim is bound by his culture to turn the world to Islam through violence. He is, therefore, unable to sit in that room with the christian because at his core, that place where his world view is defined, he knows that he sins by not killing the infidel. The christians don’t even think about killing the muslim and the muslim only thinks about killing the christians. One might think that there is no more obvious argument for a border than this. Keep them out and the killing can stop.

But borders don’t work, do they. They don’t work for a lot of reason but the most obvious one is that belief systems are not something that you can see. You can see a silly hat. You can see a skin color, or a hair color, or a burka, but you can’t see what is going on inside that head. You can’t tell if that muslim goes to that mosque to talk to their god or if they go there to find out how to make a bomb vest. #notallmuslims.

In the end, those borders that Zman promotes are designed to protect one nationality from another. But in reality, as he points out, they are designed to protect one belief system (BS) from another. Or more succinctly, one religion from another and here is where I go and find your sacred cow which I now seek to gore. If you believe in the one true god and someone else believes in the one true god and both of your gods have told you that you will inherit the earth and rule over all things, then one of you (or, as I would suggest both of you) must be wrong. It is your belief in your god and their belief in their god that creates the need for borders to protect the many BSs that can not co-exist. It is the offer of the divine that is fundamental to the requirement for borders.

I am not arguing for the abandonment of borders. What I am suggesting is that as long as you cling to your BS and they cling to their BS there is always going to be conflict. They will always seek to enforce their morality on you and you will always seek to enforce your morality on them and you both must. It is a requirement of your belief in the one true god. It is at the very core of your world view and the many and varied faith based BSs that exist across the world are not compatible and they will not be changed until the belief in one true god is removed from the discussion. Only then can all peoples come to agreement on one BS. As long as there are many BSs borders are going to be very important. There is no co-exist.

Good comment HR except for the Judeo/Christian reference. That has been debunked by our own Stuck-n-z-duetch.

As to your comment as a whole…this is why, imo, the push for 1 world government, 1 world currency and 1 world religion. And, to the godless heathens, it doesn’t matter which religion wins out.

Meatballs is at it again with the same nonsense. There is one overriding reason our so called leaders have gone bat shit crazy. They have abondon all believe in the God of the Bible. Meatballs what you are seeing is the wrath of God in action my friend. I suggest you read Romans 1:18-32 . Look at that and then look at our own culture .Or 1 Timothy 4:1-2 or 2 Timothy 3 : 1-5 or 1+2 Peter . Just read the wrath of God in the Bible passages. When a society abandons God then they ( as a result of wrath ) abandon All the moral principals that build the nation. You claim not to believe in God but yet you make wands for witchcraft( what’s up with that )?. Maybe you can see yourself in God wrath of abandonment. Then what’s next: Sowing and Reaping . The more we as a society go into these perversions the worsening of our nation will become until we break apart. I personally look forward to finally getting away from these vile bastards. America as I knew it is gone forever anyway and it’s never coming back so the quicker this happens the better. Once you accept what God has and is doing it’s okay. Meatballs , stay away from idols.

Wow BB, just let me say that you are the perfect example of what I was trying to say. As long as you cling to your god, and your divine right to rule and the muslims cling to their god and their divine right to rule, we will need borders to keep you two apart. You and your book are not even slightly different from them and their book.

Oh, and would you like to have a wand? You would be surprised how useful they can be.

? Well Steven, I wasn’t promoting any particular belief system in my comment. What I said was any belief system that has an all powerful god at the helm is bound to come in conflict with another BS with an all powerful god. The war is inevitable. Boundaries are required. As long as you and your mussy friends insist on having your god offering you all of the worlds goodies, then you are going to have to be in contention with them. They want to take your part of the world, and you want to take their part of the world. I know, not you personally, but the people who chose your leaders, they get to send you to take their part of the world.

You don’t have to have a belief of God or a god in your belief system for it to be bullshit.

The problem isn’t the one true God. It’s all the lesser false gods.

It’s obvious you don’t understand the bible or don’t want to so you think you won’t be accountable to it.

The obvious key to ALL truth is the biblical God of prophecy or the foretelling of the end from the beginning.

If anyone ever honestly studies already fulfilled biblical prophecy which is 100% accurate they will have no doubt whatsoever as to the authenticity of all scripture and the God of it and what is to come in the yet to be fulfilled prophecy.

There is no equal. Not even close.

You and BB blind. You and BB and GCP. You and your god, who is the exact same god as the muslims believe in, are the disease, not the cure. As long as you insist that your god is the one true god nothing can be done. Nothing can change. It is all your fault.

Interesting that you see wrath and I see grace abounding everywhere!

Romans 5:20 KJB… “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:”

BB, do you think the world would be standing if God were pouring out His righteous judgement upon it?

Zman is channeling the Communist Rules for Revolution. Borders are there to theoretically keep out the criminal, the diseased, and the warriors of another nation. Look to what Ellis Island was all about.

We have no borders and now diseases that were once eradicated are now rampaging unchecked while the politicos and their henchmen push lies to explain how these diseases are proliferating. Measles? Polio (they don’t call it polio but it is) TB, whooping cough and other miseries weren’t heard of for a long time, until the dems began pushing for open borders. It is also the dems who have devolved into full-blown communists. They have also created the race animosity which they push continuously.

Communist Rules for Revolution

There are 8 levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state.

The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare — Control healthcare and you control the people

2) Poverty — Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control — Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare — Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).

6) Education — Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion — Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.

8) Class Warfare — Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

YES.

Also, someone posted the 45 goals from HUAC in ’63 the other day. I have been familiar with those a long time and that is all I kept thinking about after reading paragraph one.

In these parts there was “good” art, for one example, to be found in places like parks. Starting about 20 years back, I noticed it all disappeared over just a couple year time period. It was replaced with total crap that a 3 year old could have made.

Goal 22: “…An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”

That is EXACTLY what took place.

We were infiltrated a very long time ago. The absurdities are part of an enemy take over. It’s that simple. It’s not “absurdistan” it’s the “Absurdiet” Union.

This is a very well written article. One of the best I’ve read in many years. I believe Zman is approaching the essence of what is happening, even if the causes and effects are hidden in the mists of time.

Occam’s Razor rarely applies to monumental shifts in culture and morality. It seems to be a synthesis of many competing forces.

Zman is very perceptive in identifying many of these forces.

“There are a lot of people offering up explanations for why the people in charge have suddenly gone mad.“

It’s called sin, z-man. That’s Gods explanation, not mine, though I believe it to be clearly accurate. Sin equals death and the world is apparently in its death throes.

Isaiah 5:20-21 KJB… “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”

Nearly everyone had twisted the concepts of good and evil; even (perhaps even especially) those who believe themselves to be good.

Romans 3:12 KJB… “They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
