I have no interest in the “royals” but hear this stuff as part of my job. The queen has already put a kibosh to the idea of a vegan and gender-neutral baby. When the queen speaks, the royals listen. Harry, 6th in line to the throne, is the last in line to be a royal HRH, which is limited to six, and why his baby gets no HRH title, except Earl of Dumbarton. I wonder what will happen if Kate and William have another child and kick Harry to 7th place. Does he lose his HRH status? As for Meghan, I don’t expect her to last in the “royal” Windsor family.

It’s not just about the succession. Harry will remain HRH because he will be a son of the King when Charles ascends the throne. It’s more about generations for him. It’s 3 generations of Royals apart from the direct heirs, which is why William’s kids are Princes and a Princess.
Harry is an indirect heir due to previous primogeniture rules (eldest son) that were in force when he was born. They’ve since been amended to allow Charlotte to be 4th in line ahead of Louis and Harry.
Harry’s kids may become HRH when their grandfather becomes King, though Charles may choose to change that. Also Harry can refuse a title for his children like Princess Anne did.
Archie will only get his father’s titles when Harry dies. Then, if he is married at the time, his wife becomes Duchess of Sussex making Meghan (if she’s alive) the Dowager Duchess.
Rossa, thanks for the clarification. I had my succession and HRH status’ mixed up. After all, Queen Elizabeth’s sons, Andrew and Edward, are princes of the realm and still have HRH status. It can get a bit confusing over multiple generations. And the sixth in line to throne pertains to the Perth Agreement, which says the first six in line of succession require the queen/king’s consent before they marry. If they marry without consent, they and their children would be disqualified from succession. Prince Harry had to get permission from the queen to marry, but his son won’t have to unless the number of people in the succession changes.
What’s interesting is Prince Andrew’s children, Beatrice and Eugenie, are styled princesses and have HRH status. But Prince Edward, the last child of Queen Elizabeth, was only created Earl of Wessex and Viscount Severn when he married, breaking from the tradition of making the queen’s sons dukes, though the queen has already issued directives saying when Prince Philip dies, Edward is to be given the title of Duke of Edinburgh. But Edward’s children are currently only styled as children of an earl rather than princes or princesses and without HRH status. They are currently known as Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn. Perhaps when he’s made duke their HRH status could change.
By the way, I hope Charles never becomes king. I can’t stand him. I hope it skips to William instead.
