As Hong Kong refuses to bend the knee…

Guest Post by Simon Black

Sun Tzu, the legendary Chinese general of the 6th century BC Zhou Dynasty, famously wrote in the Art of War:

“When you engage in actual fighting, if victory is long in coming, then men’s weapons will grow dull and their ardor will be damped. If you lay siege to a town, you will exhaust your strength.”

Modern day governments understand this principle very well. And that’s lesson #1 I want to discuss today.

If you’ve turned on a television, seen a newspaper, or casually browsed the Internet today, you probably saw some startling news about more protests erupting in Hong Kong.

I told you about this earlier in the week when I was on the ground there– over a million people took to the streets to demonstrate against a Draconian new law that the Hong Kong government is proposing which aims to make it easier to extradite political dissidents to mainland China.

People in Hong Kong are militant about their freedom, and they’re refusing to bend the knee over this proposed law.

Yet the government is still pressing ahead despite overwhelming opposition. So much for representative democracy.

Other governments around the world have spoken out about it, including even the United States, which issued a statement expressing “grave concern” about the law.

(I’m sure Julian Assange and Edward Snowden are still in disbelief that Uncle Sam has a problem with the extradition of political dissidents…)

But… China understands its Sun Tzu very well. This is a siege. Foreign governments, media, and people in Hong Kong are all attacking against this proposed legislation.

However, the attackers will eventually exhaust their strength.

All of these foreign governments will go back to minding their own problems. The people in the streets will go home. The media will grow tired of reporting on the story and turn their attention to Donald Trump’s latest Twitter rant.

China just needs to be patient and wait for its enemies to exhaust their strength. And then, one day when everyone has been worn down by life’s distractions, they’ll pass the law.

Time is on their side. Protests and demonstrations only delay the inevitable.

There’s a second lesson that’s come out of these Hong Kong protests that I want to discuss today, and it’s about the police.

People are in the streets of Hong Kong to voice their disgust over this bill… and the police are right there with them, firing tear gas into the crowds.

We like to think that the cops’ sole purpose is to catch criminals and put them in jail.

But these images out of Hong Kong are a stark reminder that, even more important than catching criminals, their ultimate fealty is to the political class and ruling elite… to protect the government from the people, instead of the other way around.

Would you have the balls to take to the streets to protect your rights? What inspired those throngs to stand up and take action?

I have been to rallies/protests ect.,at times to rally/protest for a idea ect.,other times to view my enemies, both state and within the people of country.

Will I fight as times become more trying on a harsher level, yes, but only alone/in small groups at best, many ways to fight when the time comes.

What action, march around with placards and whine about the gov’t?

What inspired them to do that? Fear, pure and simple, is one of the greatest motivators in human experience.

What’s the difference between this exhibit in Hong Kong and the gilets jaunes in France? There is only one that I can find, the HK have a single issue, possible extradition; the gilets jaunes have multiple issues and nobody seems to know what they are, except for the issue of auto fuel price.

China does not tend to accept opposition. I think China wins, unfortunately.

Until they don’t. They can’t be negotiated with, only beaten.

The miners rebellion in the eastern coal producing states is another example, where federal troops supported state police who supported the mine owners. Police are nothing more than private armies, which should be unconstitutional. There’s a CLEO in every county covering every square inch of this country. No one else should have the power of arrest, period.

“We like to think that the cops’ sole purpose is to catch criminals and put them in jail.”

Correct! You like to think that. Everybody else with an IQ at least slightly above that of room temperature likes to think of cops, especially American’t cops, as being poorly trained, lowbrow authoritative self-serving sociopaths whose only goal in life is to ensure that they make it safely back home every night above all else no matter how many innocent & unarmed citizens’ brains (along with their pets) need to be blown out so that one day they can retire and collect their outrageously overblown pensions. They need not fear the criminal court system, which invariably sides with them no matter how egregious their actions, nor their supervisors who routinely cover for them, nor Public Opinion which has been collectively brainwashed into considering them “heroes”, nor even their fellow decent copfucks (all 3 of them) because of the thin blue line mentality ..a mentality so at odds with the rest of the nation that the motherfuckers actually have the audacity to fly their own ridiculous versions of the U.S. flag.

They need not even fear civil courts because the massive compensations that American’t police departments nationwide regularly have to dole out every time they murder someone inevitably wind-up being paid by the U.S. taxpayer themselves! Consider the irony of that for just one moment: Officer Fuckbrain blows your wife’s brains out or throws a flash-bang grenade into your babies crib and YOU yourself get to pay for it.
