Freebies for Everyone

Freebies for Everyone

The Iowa Caucus, the real start of the 2020 presidential primaries, is next week. Who’s favored to win? Sadly, as I write this, the smart money says it’s the candidate who’s promised Americans the most “free” stuff.

Six months ago, my staff and I tallied the candidates’ promises. All wanted to give away trillions — or more accurately, wanted government to tax you and spend your money on the candidates’ schemes.

At that point, Senator Kamala Harris led. Fortunately, her promises did not bring her sustained support, and she dropped out.

Unfortunately, now the other candidates are making even more promises.

So, it’s time for a new contest.

My new video ranks the current leading candidates by how much of your money they promise to spend. We divide the promises into four categories:

Education

Joe Biden would make community college free, cut student loans in half, increase Pell Grants and modernize schools.

Added to his previous campaign promises, he’d increase federal spending by $157 billion per year.

Elizabeth Warren would spend much more. She wants government to “provide universal child care for every baby in this country age 0 to 5, universal pre-K for every child, raise the wages of every childcare worker and preschool teacher in America, provide for universal tuition-free college, put $50 billion into historically black colleges and universities… and cancel student loan debt for 95% of the people.”

She’d outspend Biden — but not Bernie Sanders.

Sanders would forgive all student loans — even for the rich. He also demands that government give everyone child care and pre-K.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg also promises free child care, more pay for teachers, more career education, free college and Pell Grants, plus the refinancing of student debt.

Good try, Pete, but Sanders “wins” in the education category, with nearly $300 billion in promises.

Climate

All the Democrats pretend they will do something useful about climate change. Biden would spend $170 billion per year, Buttigieg $150 billion to $200 billion and Warren $300 billion. Sanders “wins” this category, too, by promising more than $1 trillion.

Health Care

Even the “moderate,” Biden, now wants to “build out Obamacare” and to cover people here illegally.

So does Buttigieg — but he’d spend twice as much on it.

Warren complains the Buttigieg plan “costs so much less” than her plan. She’d spend $2 trillion a year.

Sanders is again the biggest spender. He’d spend $3 trillion of your money on his “Medicare for All” plan.

Welfare

In this category, Biden, to his credit, plans no new spending.

But Buttigieg has been cranking out lots of new promises, like $45 billion for “affordable housing” and $27 billion to expand Social Security payments beyond what people paid in.

Warren would also spend more on “affordable housing” and give kids more food stamps.

Sanders “wins” again. He promises to guarantee everyone a job, provide “housing for all” and give more people food stamps.

Miscellaneous

Then there’s spending that doesn’t neatly fit into major categories, like Biden’s plans for new foreign aid for Central America, Sanders’ high-speed internet, Buttigieg’s expanding national service programs like the Peace Corps and Warren’s plan to force government to buy only American-made products.

Finally, we found a spending category that Sanders doesn’t win. With $130 billion in new plans, Biden wins the “miscellaneous” round.

And what about that incumbent Republican?

Donald Trump once talked about “cutting waste,” but government spending rose more than half a trillion dollars during his first three years.

Now Trump wants $267 billion in new spending for things like infrastructure and “access to high-quality, affordable childcare.”

At least Trump wants to spend less than the Democrats.

Biden and Buttigieg would double Trump’s increase. Warren would quadruple it. She’d increase spending by almost $3 trillion.

But Bernie Sanders blows them all out of the water, with nearly $5 trillion in proposed new spending!

“I’m not denying we’re going to spend a lot of money,” he admits.

He’ll probably win in Iowa next week. Whoever wins… taxpayers lose.

So, Bernie should win the presidency. He’ll tank the economy the fastest so will get that pain over with the soonest.

He’s the right guy for the job.

Obvious- If Bernie wants to spend 3 Trillion so what? That is just chicken feed compared to the $$$$$ the Pentagon can manage to lose and we have not tanked so far. A Trillion here a Trillion there, no biggy. If we could just find the 20+ Trillion the Pentagon has bungled we would be in high cotton and it wouldn’t matter which Uniparty asshat we got stuck with.

In days gone by, I’d agree that conjuring a few more trillion wouldn’t be an issue, but we’re heading into the last days of the Empire.

More and more countries are trying to shed their Dollar exposure and the successful ones then send their no longer needed Dollars back into the world market were they eventually finds their way back to the US proper. Those excess Dollars floating around in the US economy produces price inflation to slowly but surely start to equilibrate to the monetary inflation leading to eventual hyperinflation.

With a new Bernie moron to replace the current one, he’ll add more fuel to that fire. The Federal Reserve is trapped in a never ending cycle of money printing till the crack up boom occurs. That should be obvious to everyone by now.

The oil market and the entire Middle East is starting to lean towards increasing Russian influence with the balanced lessening of US influence. The Petro Dollar is not going to last much longer as more and more oil and gas suppliers trade in non dollar terms. The Saudi gov’t is short on cash and can’t keep sending their excess oil profits back to the US because there aren’t any. The whole point of the Petro Dollar was to use the recycled profits as the source for the deficits spending for free shit and the scum in the military. Realistically, the Petro Dollar is already defunct.

With China being the largest importer of energy, all suppliers are eventually going to trade in Yuan and recycle their excess profits into the Chinese economy, not the US economy. The US is doing a superb job pissing off the entire world thanks to the moron in the White House. I’m waiting for Turkey or Germany to either leave NATO or simply tell the US to get the hell out.

The US Empire will collapse just like the Roman Empire, but it will most likely die a violent death. New wars are a sure thing IMO. If the Chinese or Russians face off against the US even via proxies, the US doesn’t stand a chance as it’s exhausted in every measure.

obvious- I too said all those things in the past that you have lamented above. Now, I am wrapped in the warmth of the money magick that is keeping us from ruination…..hey, I figure Da Fed can stuff a gozillion in the stock market like you see now. Think about Dow 50,000….yeah baby! And Boomers on SS leaving to live in other countries wipes out the dollars from here and pumps them into places blooming into First World status. Like I said, the Pentagon can lose Mega Trillions so, we need not worry about becoming the Wiemar anytime soon. Bet Germany could have used a entity like the Pentagon. 🙂

Stock valuations are a mirage until you sell and turn it into cash.

When, not if, the SHTF, all that phony valuation evaporates into the nothingness it was derived from. Recent history has numerous episodes of the market crashing.

BL – you are once again being an idiot, and you are not that.

The entire military budget is $600 billion. They did not lose $20 trillion, which may be more than the combined US military budgets in all of history. It is not possible. Do the maffs.

What they did was not keep track of asset movements: ie move a tank from A to B. No paperwork, so a $1 million “mistake”. They did this 100 times, and called it a $100 million mistake. But the tank still exists.

Was it the editorialist / cynic H. L. Mencken who said FDR’s New Deal was “a milch cow with 125,000,000 teats”? Looks like Bernie is trying to 200,000,000-up him.

I watched Joe Rogan interview, Bernie. Bernie had some good stuff to say but he also had some stuff that was scary. he sure isn’t shy about spending other people’s money. everyone buys the idea that it will be someone else’s money they take. I agree that his offering of free shit and legalizing weed could make him a contender.

“Universal child care from 0-5” It’s not bad enough that the public education system corrupts children’s minds. Now they want to fill them with their sick perverted Marxist garbage from birth.Give us your children at birth, all while you subsidize their brainwashing with your tax dollars. That is why I provide the child care to my grand kids. They get 100% love and attention. At least at 5 and up they can have much of the nonsense reversed. These people sicken me!!!!

But, if we don’t elect one of these who will give us “free child care”, we may well be allowing our kids to miss out on this: https://www.westernjournal.com/report-drag-queen-story-hour-now-coming-public-school/. Do you have any idea just how terrible it would be to grow up in a world without this in your background ?

Yeah “Free Stuff” like what the rest of the developed world already has…jeez! Oh, and let’s not talk about the trillions the MIC squandered and can’t account for, yah, “free stuff” like getting old and have the peace of mind that the thousands of dollars you owe for getting an education for a job that doesn’t exist will result in your social security being garnished, yeah “free stuff” can’t have any of that.

I know the one way they could make all this “FREE STUFF” work out. Just get everyone to work for free and then the cost of labor would not effect the prices of anything. We would also pay no taxes and the corporations would continue to run the government, but even better, with all the money they can print. The people would have no need for money, the politicians and CEO’s would have it all. And it would not wear out by being handed around so much either.

TC,I disagree,we are not out of luck, just have solid in your hands goods whether supplies/land/ect.,they can try and take em but lets face it,the population armed is one of the largest armies if not largest in the world.Unless the commies want to literally nuke the whole country and thus get nothing themselves we will be OK,just living different lives, get the majority of your monies out of 1’s and 0’s and have solid in hand wealth.
