This is a huge supply chain wake up call……the US (and other developed nations) will have to stand up significant domestic capacity for all the healthcare stuff made currently in China……gloves, masks, googles, suits etc…..you can’t blame China for taking all that stuff….stupid of us to not recognize the risk. More broadly this will only accelerate the move away from Chinas as a sole source supplier in all industries! Greed always gets zapped at some point.
There also be a taint (and not the chin rest) on all Chinese products…..they are fucked….good.
Let’s hope the massive Hubei numbers tonight are China taking a bath, releasing all the bad news at once…but I doubt it. Likely the new normal.

Nah. They are no longer counting asymptomatic cases, i.e. lying about the case count.
It’s still getting worse, but it’s probably getting worse at a slightly lower rate due to Chinese disease suppression measures – but likely not nearly by as much as they are saying.
edit: They have apparently reversed course on the new way of lying about case counts, and returned to their original way of lying about them.

Important article on the Coronavirus scare. Interestingly one of the keys to protecting yourself from this virus is Vitamin D. In Wuhan the UV index is extremely low…plus they suffer from massive pollution. Lack of Vitamin D is also a problem in that it infects the health officials and workers with a type of ‘winter’ madness that effects their judgment. It is a vicious circle.
