I despair for America

Guest Post by Thaisleeze

So it is Sunday in America, a country facing one of the biggest crises in its history. Two areas of the country are in need of help.

The financial markets have taken a hit, a harsh one for sure, but this is what markets do. No matter, by Monday morning the Federal Reserve, to whom Congress has delegated all power over such matters, has announced a bailout, unlimited in its amount and extent, all backed by the American taxpayer. All taken care of by a group of unelected academics living in their ivory towers.

Thanks to diligent work by Wallstreetonparade.com and others, we know that in the last crisis the Federal Reserve secretly shoveled $29 trillion to banks, foreign as well as domestic. The total for the butcher’s bill this time will once again be a closely guarded secret but is hardly likely to be lower this time around, but rest assured, not a single dollar will make it as far as main street.

The second problem is certainly more important and the country will undoubtedly be just as fleet footed in solving it. The health of the population is being attacked by the Chinese virus. The medical system does not have the medicines and equipment to deal with a problem of this magnitude.

Within a year of admitting China to the World Trade Organization the once thriving pharmaceutical industry in New Jersey had upped, lock, stock and barrel to China. Today over >95% of medicines and the ingredients for medicines needed globally are made in China. OK, the people responsible for this will now step up to the plate and help their people out, maybe acknowledge their earlier mistakes, really work to assuage their guilt.

Oh, 48 hours later and still not a cent ready to be dispersed. The people who have got very rich from their “service” and have the power to make laws to alleviate the suffering of the people they work for are still bickering over ear-marks in the proposed legislation that will meet their political needs for LBGTQXYZ weirdos that comprise 2% of the populace, or some other cause totally unrelated to folks immediate and urgent needs. They can suffer a little more if it means we can get money for pink hair dye or some such minority cause. The Republicans are being just as divisive as the Planned Parenthood Democrats, it is all about them and their source of personal funds.

The people who need the help least, banks, hedge funds, insurance companies, airlines, Boeing, corporate multinationals, and yes, property developers, (cough, Trump, cough) get unlimited money, loads of money. Even the private jet industry has its hand out for your money. The people who really need money fast might get it this week, or not.

When a bill is finally agreed upon the generosity will be trumpeted by one and all as the greatest ever, unprecedented, altruistic through and through. And yet, the total cost of this largess will be lucky to reach 10% of that made available to the cancerous cretins of Wall Street and the City of London. Yes, those American taxpayer funds are going into the pockets of financiers all over the globe, from Frankfurt to Tokyo.

Perhaps the coming collapse is desired in some quarters.

Those most responsible for the economic destruction will be the ones most handsomely rewarded.
What’s new pussycat?

“Most responsible”? Seems to me that there is plenty of “responsibility” to go around. A general failure of culture, due to old age and a slip into decadence that started a long, long time ago.

I think, in a nutshell, that we (broadly defined Americans, and most of the rest of the old Western Civ crew) decided to devote al our attention, desire, awe, and veneration to the material, secular, vulgar (old school definition) world. We stopped striving for, rewarding, or even acknowledging the existence of the true, the right, the good, the beautiful, the worthy, the truly needy, and the eternal. We took the latest toys and gadgets to ease our toil, forgetting that struggle develops habits and strengths necessary for the inevitable hard times. We found life on this third rock so easy and pleasant that contemplating an eternity in the presence (or absence) of a just God was no longer judged to be a good use of time. Better to devote ourselves to mindless consumption and pointless distractions known as entertainment.

This isn’t the first time these big wheels have rolled around, and it won’t be the last. There is an eternity with (or without) a just God to contemplate, and now is a pretty god time to give it some real thought, and to act on your conclusions.

It is never too late to acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, until your last breath. Even the man on the cross with him was saved at the end of his life.

“Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom’. Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise‘.” Luke 23: 42, 43

The false-flag attack can’t be launched until the stimulus giveaways are signed into law and ironclad.
Don’t pass a fucking thing, Trump.

If after the dot-com bust, 2008 and now this, societies are unable and/or unwilling to put an end to finance capitalism once and for all, then all is lost for those who hope to retain some degree of liberty in their lives. In a world of ubiquitous information, the digilumpen haven’t a clue how to properly tap the reservoir of knowledge now available. Selfies, games, whining… that’s about the extent of their interaction with the internet. Superficial “knowledge” for those with attention spans shorter that those of goldfish, I seem to recall having read. These are the manipulated masses whom the money magicians cheat again and again.

The West has painted itself into a corner having allowed financial finaglers to take over the management of complex societies with the poison pill of globalism as opposed to localism. Subsidiarity was and is the best way for a society to operate, cutting out the perennially hated moneymen, keeping things simple, permitting local genius to achieve comfort and a decent degree of prosperity. In a balanced world, NO ONE would amass fortunes greater than the entire wealth of small nations; no one would be so pathologically greedy, nor believe that he knew what was best for one and all and it was his right to impose his will on those he believed to be lesser beings than he.

It’s time for the Great Leveling, one way or another. It’s overdue.

I Despair For America

Not me. I got past that many years ago. I still weep, but that’s for what was, what could’ve been.
Most certainly not for what this place is now.
Any weeping is for the people. Regardless of who’s fault it is, we are no longer of the people, by the people, for the people. That ship sailed long ago.
What comes next is nothing like what was.

Well said, TS. I weep for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We have squandered a once great country and it will take a generation or three to restore it, if at all.

We will restore it, or at least set it on the right path. America has at its core servant leaders who are willing to fill the gap when the govt. goes bye bye birdie. None of them will be sourced from what exists today, though.

This is only a test, to see how the heard will react to the fact the the US is bankrupt, and can no longer project power.

Russia and Iran have proven that cheap missiles can project power just like expensive carriers and jets and bases and bombers. That last chess move taking out the Iranian General was the straw the broke the buck.

when the real system to replace the petro dollar is finally put into place,
we will all be slaves on a plantation:

It might be a little unpopular yet I applaud the cronies in their quest for power and wealth with any means possible. That is to me what capitalism is about.
I reserve my scorn for the contemptible swine called “politicians” that we all have sitting in edifices of inefficiency and corruption. It is by these swine’s hands that we have our toiled for monies extracted from us by threat. It is these swine who are supposed to be our Davids against corporate Goliaths. Yet they continually fail and enrich themselves during and after their tenures.
One can only hope for a lot of these low life tnuc’s, that a Ceausescu moment comes. Sooner than later. When the Goliath’s see their minions being exterminated then they might realise that they are in a spot of bother.
