Socialism benefits the ‘political haves’ and hurts the very people its supposedly helps.
I’m not sure we are headed towards Socialism, IMHO we may be on our way to becoming Japan, 20 years of stagnation

Look back to ’08/’09 Financial crisis, the banks were bailed out – people lost their homes. As a result, two movements threatened politicians; Occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party. The Tea Party was successful is challenging the RINO establishment. Some would opine that Bernie and Trump were the peaks of these movements.
I suspect this time, politicians are scared of these movements gaining even more traction, thus throwing lots of money at us citizens, while bailing out corporations who spent the last many years running up debt and buying back their stocks to inflate EPS – Earning per Share. Higher EPS translated into executive bonuses.

As a consequence, many are zombie companies beyond financial engineering solutions. Some are so poorly led, they should be sold, taken over, or dissolved in bankruptcy.

For the past 40 years working Americans in the private sector have been financially raped pillaged and plundered by the circle jerk of Wall Street to K-Street to Capitol Street . As the connected and elites profited by the largest transfer of wealth from the many to the few in history .
This left our industries destroyed similar to Europe and Asia after World War 2 ! There was no Marshall plan to restore and make whole the victims of job and benefit loss and bankrupted pensions . Meanwhile a run up of debt to astronomical proportions piled on top of average working people victimized by the circle jerk and the government minions in their employ . Now we have a national crisis global in proportions and no means of production to adequately address the issue .
So we turn to socialism , surprise we have subsidized government employees benefits with a shield for decades while dumping on private sector employees and employers .
Now it’s our turn for some payback !
Nearly all government pension plans are grossly underfunded but the checks still go out in full .
We all know how so fuck you pay me !

Gov DeSantis (R) shut down Florida schools, restaurants, bars etc but the Leon County (Tallahassee) public school system is operating about a half-dozen school cafeterias in Black areas to serve kids lunches, and sends the school buses on their normal rounds each day to deliver two meals in bags to kids. Tallahassee Leftist have Primed the Minority public school kids for Communism. They have also shut down the Farmer’s Markets but the big chains are open. They pass out bags of Second Harvest to hundreds of cars each day at the Civic Center parking lot. I doubt these people are making home gardens and will riot and plunder if they don’t get their free shit. PS: Have you noticed that CV-19 is worse in liberal areas; that New Yorkers (who were ordered to shelter in place) are fleeing to Florida and Gov DeSantis has set up a roadblock on Hwy 95 (from NY) before Jacksonville to take names and tell them to self isolate 14 days. Tell us Rednecks how ya’ll Shitheads do it in NYC again.

American politics is rule by cult of personality. Just by voting for one of the two assholes running, half of the country are then happy to go along with whatever policy is presented. Case in point – the MAGA crowd just 4 years ago were chanting to “build the wall” and “send them all back”, but magically 4 years later are happy to welcome record numbers of immigrants (as long as they come in *legally*.) Just like Democrats supported NAFTA and constitution-loving Republicans were happy to get the Patriot Act, and of course every candidate denounces debt and the deficit, but then steps on the spending gas pedal once elected (and none of their voters seem to mind.)

Steal money from the rich(those that have more than me) and give me that free stuff. The great American motto. The problem is that every time they put free money in your pocket they tighten the clamp on your nuts.

Tell me, please, what other option is available to a debt-money monetary system?

Hitler ,ever hear of him.Someone to do for us what he did for Germany as in issuing his own notes without interest. From 1933 to 1940 Germany went from being broke to superpower.Just 7 years.Of course the world couldn’t have a free people with a free economic system so our leaders started WW 11.

Before Hitler came to power in 1933 the Rockefeller Foundation/ JP Morgan got personally involved with financial support and the Ruhr was demilitarized which helped the steel industry out. The worthless unbacked Weimar paper was replaced by a Rentenmark in the ’20’s backed by gold. Hitler later set up secret dummy companies to issue those “no interest bonds” in order to reflate the money supply and the Reichsmark was backed by gold at an exchange rate of 4.2Dm/US dollar.

Nixon took us off the gold standard in 1971. Our dollar is on life support and it’s only a matter of time before a reset happens.

Abject failure of the entire charade. No bail-outs or loans for corporations that do not pay corporate taxes (“No sew, no reap”). Dissolution of the entire FED-RES system that has enslaved the children of everyone who isn’t super-rich.

Or fires in the sky and blood in the streets.

Or both.

Yeah, no solution. “Distress of nations, with perplexity”. SKREWED. It is funny to me that the banksters took control of the entire world when there was a decentralized press and only the telegraph system and have consolidated over the decades via newspaper conglomerates, radio networks, TV networks, cable news, etc., until NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY F*CK EVERYBODY . . . they still own the whole world. Satanist bastards.

if you mean what is the alternative to a variable-volume money system whose currency is loaned out at interest, there may not be any at this level of population and economic activity.

Corporate welfare, central banking, endless arms contracts, bank bailouts, and every form of welfare the republicans think is ok and not somehow “socialism.”

When Nixon finally “closed the gold window” he did so with the statement “well, I guess we’re all Keynesians now.” Fuck him and fuck everyone that willingly went along and blew up government spending.

“willingly went along and blew up government spending”

faced by the soviet union (and other threats), he did what he had to do. you hate him for closing the gold window, but you’d hate him more if he hadn’t.
