Propane is a horrifying weapon. Most people have no idea their grill has enough to blow their house to toothpicks. Any nimrods thinking about playing with this crap beware. A modest size tank exploding will cover you in flames several hundred yards away. A railcar tanker full, over a quarter mile away.

More like 300 as opposed to 440. Just don’t be anywhere near the fireball. Sometimes the end of the tank will explode and launch like a rocket and travel spewing flames for hundreds of yards or even further.

No, your grill tank can just blow your house to smithereens. One of those tanks that folks have in their yard to run a house, the furnace etc. will absolutely burn your arse hundreds of feet away.
A railcar or tank has to be heated until the internal pressure exceeds the strength of the container so that it vaporizes in an instant upon rupture. Then an existing fire or heat source ignites the quick expanding cloud of gas. A candle and a leak won’t do the job in the open. Idiots shooting propane tanks under most cases won’t even get a fire as a result much less an explosion. Idiots that I worked with only got an explosion and fire out of a propane tank by ” wrapping it with tannerite ” and shooting it.
The training I had showed what is called a “BLEVY” which is an acronym. The tank gets a pinhole or tiny leak which has been ignited and after a certain amount burns off the resulting superheated air pocket sets the whole thing off. It can take a fairly long time. I’m sure you can find one on Youtube.
The Air Force uses a fuel/air bomb. A bomb is dropped by parachute with a container of propane. At a certain altitude the propane container blows creating an atomized cloud of propane which is heavier than air and moves downward. Shortly the bomb goes off into the propane cloud which enhances the explosive power of the bomb tremendously.
You could release propane from the top of a building into an alley and with the right explosive initiator like an M80 taped to a can of hairspray create hell on earth.

BLEVYs are fucken gnarly. That is where they got the idea for Thermobaric and FAE bombs. All three decimate a huge area.

I need to see realtime, live speed footage to determine if that was an lpg boil blast. Regardless, it stinks all the way around. And no fucken way they identified his dna remains that quick. Stack that with what HSF posted regarding the commiegoolag time stamp well before the detonation.

Suppose it was a lpg type bomb, and he was telegraphing it before hand, it’s on the wire and the authorities are on the case, the communications were being picked up by peer adversaries, a quick calculation and an energy weapon was used to detonate the vehicle to amplify the damage and cover for the weapons use.
James Bond type stuff ? keep a close eye on fires and events around critical infrastructure that suddenly turn catastrophic.
