Trump is over. He might have been on our side, or he might have been controlled opposition, I neither know nor care. All I know is he asked for the job and we gave it to him. He exhibited dreadful character judgement/ risk assessment, he’s full of himself, and worst of all, he was weak when dealing with brutal enemies. All disqualifying points for future leadership. I don’t hate the man. It’s not personal, it’s business.
When more than anything else we needed a tough talking, nerves of steel leader who didn’t give an inch, Trump was weak. Weakness is fatal. Stop following it. If he starts a new party, don’t join. If he starts a news network, don’t watch. He is narcissistic and possibly in on the entire corrupt mess. He is stigmatized deadwood at this point, let him get consumed. Somebody smarter, tougher, and stronger will arise.
Q is a joke. Anybody following it needs to get their head out of their rump, and if they refuse to, the rest of us need to shun them just as we need to ditch Trump. Q supporters still clinging to baseless hope at this late hour are a liability going forward because they are dangerously naïve and gullible. We cannot afford that. For 4 precious years we were distracted with people saying “its 4D chess” to excuse every single one of Trump’s self-sabotaging, self-serving, or boneheaded moves.
Heaven only knows how much ground that lost us. Q supporters: you were duped. Admit it and move on. Q was clearly created to distract and disorient people, and it worked. Hat tip to the malevolent mindbenders who spawned it, you did a bang-up job. You led millions of honest, decent people astray and preyed on their legitimate desire for justice. I hope karma finds you and gives you what you deserve good and hard.
What do we need to do now? We need higher standards and we need to hold people accountable. When Trump called Hillary “good people” he should have gotten REAMED by his base for it. But we put up with it. That set the tone for the next 4 years, and look where it got us. None of these people EVER feels the wrath of those that they betray. We just keep kissing their ass. It’s disgusting and it needs to stop. If we elect someone and they do ANYTHING even remotely Swampy, then they need a full, immediate, visible and loud withdrawal of support. We can do cancel culture too.
We need to dump the GOP en masse. It has done nothing but let us down. Go tomorrow and change your registration to Independent. The argument is always made that if you stay as registered GOP, at least you can primary people. Really? After that debacle of an election we just had, you think that your puny vote is going to get in the way of them putting in a cherished swamper? If you do, then please get in touch, I have Nevada oceanfront property with your name on it just waiting for you.
There are other ways to primary people, like making their lives an obnoxious hell so that they leave of their own volition. Shout their dirt from the rooftops and call out their hypocrisy. Barrage them with phone calls, inundate them with letters. Yell at them if they dare appear in public. Put a sign on your lawn calling them out. Make it known to any business that endorses or donates to them that you are no longer a customer. Badmouth them to everyone you know. STOP. BEING. NICE. Be loud, but peaceful.
Right now conservatives are like a long-suffering schlub with a shamelessly philandering partner. Do you really want to stick around and contract one of the disgusting STDs it’s collected wallowing in filth? It’s a faithless whore, kick it out of your bed. Hang up on them when they call. Don’t donate. Don’t stump for them. Make them a pariah.
We must abandon choosing the lesser of two evils. It hasn’t worked and won’t work. Either it is wholly good, or it isn’t worth our time or effort. Have some pride in your good name and stop putting it on the line for treacherous weasels.
If they no longer have any visible popular support, the big donors that prop up these traitors will ditch them too. Their only purpose is to keep us distracted and lull us into complacency. If their efforts are no longer effective, then no one will bother in investing in them and they will shrivel up and blow away like the empty husks they are. Serves them right, the spineless wretches.
We’d also be wise to reach out to the Bernie Bros and other disenfranchised Dems and try to find common ground. We might not agree on the solutions to our country’s problems, but we all agree on the rotten nature of the system. The enemy of my enemy is my (temporary at least) friend. We have more in common than we think, and we might be able to help them blow up the Dem party as the Republican party has been blown up.
This entire system requires a false right/left dichotomy to work. If we willfully pull the plug on half of it, the entire thing goes. No more illusion of democracy, no more fake freedom. Why wait for them to completely pull up Zappa’s theater curtain? We can do it ourselves, on our terms.
Time to rip off the mask off the hideous face of the zombie monster running the show and let the light shine on it.

If Trump did call for troops in DC, then put them to no use at all, he’s a turncoat to his base. If he didn’t call them up, the “president elect” or at least his handlers, called them. Trump was CiC until today, and the troops have been there for awhile, therefore the troops may have been ordered into DC by people who aren’t even in the chain of command, and some military officers obeyed them.

1) I don’t hold much stock in Josephus. It is an absolute indisputable fact that his reporting of history is highly slanted and biased. He was owned (figuratively) by the Romans, and fake-reported events to make them look better whenever possible.
2) The Smithsonian isn’t the only institution reporting that the wall that still remains was part of the temple structure. No, it wasn’t THE TEMPLE … but, it was part of the entire compound. If you have a fence around your house … don’t you consider that part of your property??
3) A logic thought; wouldn’t the Jews, who still go there to worship, know better?? They are not a stupid people. One would think that over the past two thousand years some smart Jewish person would say “Hey, Moishe! Ya know that wall was a Roman Garrison, ya schmuck!!”
Regardless … whether or not that wall is part of temple (an exercise of minutiae) actually misses the far greater question; what does the destruction of the temple signify? As you well know, Stucky, I’m a Preterist, so my beliefs will be rejected by the majority of Christians here.
I believe Jesus return during the generation he was talking to at the moment in Matthew and Revelations, the first century Christians. I believe Jesus returned in 70 A.D. and used the Roman army to destroy Jerusalem as outlined in the Bible. There are no thousands of years involved from a full Preterist point of view.
As far as the temple, Josephus’ account is backed by the Bible, and in Jesus’ own words, saying there will be no stone left standing. That’s exactly what happened because the Roman soldiers tore the temple apart brick by brick to get at the gold, silver and other jewels embedded within the temple walls.
Yes, Josephus was biased but he knew the prophecies and spoke about them. Is any historian not biased? I also have a book that compares Josephus’ “Jewish Wars” to Revelations and it shows how Josephus’ account matches the biblical description of the destruction of Jerusalem.
A “fence” does not make a building, or a temple, and is not a part of it. That wall is not from the temple itself so the prophesy is fulfilled.
The Jews in Jerusalem today are not Hebrews, so what they do, like worshiping at a wall, has no bearing. They have no place in Biblical history or in prophecy.
The destruction of the temple signifies Jesus pointing out that the Hebrews were following the rule of man instead of God, and Christ’s own foreknowledge of their rejection of the sacrifice as the lamb for our sins. The old temple system required animal sacrifices. When Christ was crucified as the lamb for our sins, the animal-sacrifice system ended spiritually. Yet, the Hebrews continued that system of animal sacrifice and that had to end. That’s why the temple had to be destroyed and the diaspora ensued.
I forgot to add, the new age that Jesus was talking about was coming age of the Christians.

But from the earliest comments this morning, such as from Brian Reilly, I’ve been thinking that everybody here on TBP has a level of awareness surpassing that of most Americans, especially leftists. In fact my own level of awareness can be attributed to my 6 years here.
I would probably never have become a Trump suppoerter were it not for his bareknuckle approach in the primaries. That got my attention. And just like the Q believers I wanted to hold out some hope that maybe, just maybe he really did want to drain the swamp and that he had a plan to do so.
He was an outsider. Jimmy Carter was an outsider too and the thing that gave me some hope about Carter was when the swamp was pushing back hard against him appointing other outsider to positions of power.
So much has been said in this thread I don’t want to keep restating the obvious. So I will only say that it is now unlikely we get another Trump. They have seen to that. But then again perhaps we should study how Putin managed to gain power.

The other thing I’ve experienced in my younger scrap’n days was that the bigger the bully the less experience in fighting they actually had. They use size intimidation and aggressive threats to control those around them. Not brag’n but I’ve taken more down than I’ve lost to with experience.

I am not sure I understand the question the way you phrased it.
You’ve hear my position on the difference between man as an individual and as a part of a collective. Everyone fits in that scale from shit in catatonic schizophrenics on one end and part of a mob on the other.
Political movements, or ideologies turned into functioning governments, are the movers of virtually all large scale social organizations. Nations and empires are not run by individuals but by members of a collective. In order to create one, individuals must first embody a performative example that the masses would seek to either admire or emulate, hence the terms leaders and followers.
When a system becomes corrupt- meaning it no longer represents the system it promotes through behaviors- an opportunity arises for it’s competition to sweep up the disaffected members. As an example, the Catholic Church. If what they promote- godliness, virtue, morality, Christian ethics- takes a back seat to carnality, perversion, sinfulness, etc. the best way to pick up those who drift away isn’t to have a more corrupt church with even greater levels of obscene behavior, but the opposite.
This is where we are right now. If you want an alternative to what they offer, why would you offer more of the same?

Anyway, I’ve been wanting to comment on the individual vs collective idea from your last couple of comments.
I have said before that see us as inhabiting the tension between a wide vairatey of polar opposite concepts. The JP Order vs Chaos is a big one. But also, something like Stasis vs Change which is I believe literally written in the Cosmic Filament as those would be good one word definitions for the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics respectively.
The idea of Individual vs Collective certainly fits this model. Now, it’s important to understand that we need BOTH, but it is vital to strike a balance. Too far in either direction (along any of these dipoles, in fact) leads to horror and atrocity.
Another way to look at the Individual vs. Collective structure is through the lens of power. Obviously, the collective is where the greatest power lies and maybe not just because of numbers, but a synergistic effect. The simplest case would be moving furniture….two men can move a LOT more furniture than twice that of one man. Now, move along that chain of tough and you get to the State. Such immense power can build everything from pyramids to nuclear reactors. It is also the same power that is behind every atrocity in human history. Ideology (which could be thought of as going too far in any one direction) corrupts the power and atrocity is always the result.
The Constitution, was I think, the first document to attempt to cement the Sovereignty of the Individual into the founding of the State. It worked well for a time, but ultimately, cyclical, evolutionary forces will overpower any idea, no matter how well conceived or intended. Perhaps, then, humanity needs atrocity from time to time, much like a forest needs fires. It is a depressing thought, but I can’t see a way around it.
Drud. there is one overriding difference between the individual and the collective. Individuals have a soul; collectives do not. Collectives are just magnets for raw power at the expense of the individuals they entrap.. Think mob psychology vs. individual rationality. Think corporations vs individuals just trying to run a business. Think nation-states vs free groups of people. Since collectives have no soul they can only succeed or fail (be judged) in this world. Individuals (souls) are finally judged in the next world, but unfortunately may also be judged in this world to the extent they have been ensnared by the collective. That’s where we are today–the collectives have failed us and we will suffer for tolerating them. Dark? yes.
You seem to have missed the point. Everything you say here is true and encompassed in my proper tension/balance between the Individual and the Collective. Going all the way to Individualism would be something like everyone on an island ala Castaway. Survival is the absolute best to hope for and unlikely at that.
We need each other, ie we need collective action. We need individual liberties and individual rights.

Collective action imposed from the top down (usually w/ an ideology) is evil; collective action from the bottom up and local, arising organically to tackle a problem, is the heart and soul of a healthy society.

Point A to point B is a line heading downhill with a cyclical wheel of turnings repeating and moving more and more quickly. That wheel will hit a wall someday (likely soon, though I can’t prove that) and ultimate justice will be served.

Sorry, but term limits is not the answer to our problems. Our problem is the federal government spends too much money and is involved in too many things that should be of no concern to a government that is 1,000’s of miles away. As long as they are spending $4 – $7 TRILLION a year, there will be those with their hands out trying to get their piece of the pie.
If you institute term limits, it just gives the bureaucrats more power. Cut the budget by 90% and return to Constitutional spending only and you will reign in the federal government. The only way that is going to happen is a massive crash of the economy/system, as we have seen throughout history.
The federal government spends “too much money’ because the lobbyists who provide reelection campaigns do so only for “a piece of the pie”. The pie increases in direct proportion to lobbyist influence. Lobby influence$ exist only because political dynasties are nurtured through reelection. Why do you think Trump repealed his own lobbying restrictions?
The federal budget is a pork barrel not because there’s no fiscal restraint (Keynesian economics are flat-earth for a reserve currency), but because every spending bill is laden with riders intended to repay/reward lobbyist’s campaign donations. How else does Israel exert so much control over our government’s purse, the lifeblood of our young, and the discourse of our international policy from “1,000’s of mile away”?
There is no ‘fiscal policy’ that will breath life back into what was once a Republic with no direct taxation, except the repeal of all direct federal taxes.

I have been reading here about how the election was stolen, but maybe there’s still hope that Trump will prevail and other such nonsense. But it’s not nonsense because there wasn’t fraud. I neither know nor care about how much or how little…because I place no hope in government. Governments are like assholes and opinions (everyone has one and they all stink) and governments are also like fire and money (useful servants but dreadful masters).
Government always lies downstream of culture, therefore nothing governments do can affect culture. And one definition of culture, one I find useful, might be the sum of all the individual psyches in a group/society. Where once we had (in general) a culture of sovereign individuals who understood that life was not just unfair, but deeply tragic, but the best way to deal with that reality is to find the heaviest thing you could carry and walk uphill with it (ala Jordan Peterson). With this model you get voluntary and honorable collective action and this is what has built Western Civilization.
The assumption that any amount of power applied or policy or resources can ever take the unfairness or tragedy out of life is what will destroy it.
Imagine a massive tower build over 500 years. Worrying about who is president in 2021 (or who controls the House, etc) is like changing the curtains in the penthouse, when the foundation is crumbling.
Now, I agree with HSF and others that this is a natural cycle coming to a close and nothing we do is going to repair that foundation. The best we can do is to take care of ourselves as best as possible, make ourselves and those close to us as resilient as possible and be what we would like the world to look like.

You can’t know me, but one thing I am somewhat proud of about myself is I do not say “I told you so.” If it’s implied, I regret that. Everything before now is in the land of blame and of no use. Everything from now on is in the land of responsibility and is of utmost importance. I meant it as a call to rethink what we see as important and to think anew about what really is or may be.
I suspect why Eric never goes into the whys is twofold: 1) there is no credible evidence and 2) there is no utility. To know that these things exist and to spread that information is the best way forward. To dive down endless rabbit holes of speculation is a waste of time. As an example, we have had numerous shitfests around 9/11 here…has anything ever been solved? But recognizing that we have a government and “alphabet” agencies that even “might” be capable of either perpetrating such an event or ignoring warnings of it or even simply using it for other nefarious purposes, is not. I think we all fit into one of those categories and that is unifying…diving beyond just raises new hostilities to no benefit whatsoever. We will never know the why of the nasty conspiracies that have been proved, nor the conspiracy hypotheses that may never be. Hell, maybe the perpetrators themselves didn’t even fully understand their own motivations…in fact, I think it likely. Given that they were Human.
I ignored the Ashli Babbitt stuff, because I haven’t watched it and don’t want to spend the time or mental energy on trying to discern what may or not have happened. Never heard of McNamara. That’s a really interesting point about gov’t and culture. I don’t think that the culture in a fascist system like ours reflects the average people at all. Rather, American “culture” as it exists today, with Hollywood, big music stars, sports superstars, Black Friday salesathons, tranny pride, etc, is a fake construct they’d like to see us adopt and are doing their damndest to ram down our throats. I don’t think most Americans are clamoring for what they’re trying to sell us, its why they need to brainwash our kids and bully us into accepting it.

Of course. As long as they admit (ether openly or though changed action, might be too much to ask to have them vocalize it) that they were illusions and no longer plan to pursue them. Lots of good people got caught up in that mess, including some that I hold very dear. I hope they awaken soon.
If they cling to Q and still think the white hats are days away from justice, then there is no hope for any cause with them in it. Black pill or nothing going forward. We are in this on our own, we need to rely on ourselves and each other with no hope of rescue from outside.
On a side note, the left has its own awakening going on. Things (unemployment, healthcare, etc) are as bad for the average lefty as they are for us, worse possibly. They don’t tend to be makers and producers and are less self-sufficient. They are expecting Biden and company to ride to their rescue and “save” not only them but the planet as well. Gonna be a lot of disillusioned people in the next few years.
We need to be ready for that, and hopefully get the reasonable ones on board to something sane.
